Thursday, January 2nd
Good morning everyone.
Hope everyone is having a great start to the new year. We are starting it out by doing a refinance on our house. CRAZY! It is so stressful. Especially since my income has dropped. Oh well, we will get through this. Next week I have my planning session for my radiation. That is where they make the marks for where the radiation will be aimed at and set up all my appointments. I am hoping the oncologist is right by telling me that he feels the radiation won't cause a lot of fatigue since I am otherwise healthy. After work today I am hoping to get out to my studio. Who knows?? Anymore whenever I plan to get out there it doesn't work. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning...
Debi, how cool that DGS is well and now lives near you... huge blessing.
ShirleyMae, we have had quite a few Robin's around here lately.. the other day I counted 14 all were worm hunting... I just don't get it.
Izzy, it really is a pretty quilt...
O'Dorothy, great deal on the coat.. I saw a nice wool knee length coat with a fur lined hood.. but I ain't no size 8 petite.. dang it.. it was beautiful and only $5... my aunt and I are planning a valentines day thrift shop hop if you can make it...
Judi, I am in no way a card sender... Jerry handles that.. we got very few cards this year and it's likely because I don't send any..
Suzette, good luck with the re-fi...and the radiation.
Lois.. I use your trick... I take my lap top in my sewing room and find a movie or two on netflix and go like a wild woman.. yesterday I watched Guilt Trip with Barbara Strisand... great movie, in some ways it reminded me of my son...lol...
Becca, I didn't even see the parade this year...
I posted a picture of my bird house plan in the swap section... and will come up with a complete plan for my swap that will start in March...
other than that nothing exciting is going on here... hope you all have a superb day
don't forget to sign up for the drawing.

Good Morning!
SHARONA - Happy Birthday! I hope your DH and family treat you like the princess you truly are! Hugs!!
SCRAPPY PAT - please know you and your DH are on the top of my prayer list.
SUZETTE - prayers for you as you begin your radiation. I hope you have no side effects at all. Hope you can get out to your studio today.
LOIS - some days I'm like that, too. Just can't focus on anything. It will pass. Hope the storm isn't too bad!
EDIE - happy to see you! Happy New Year!
JUDI - your LA does decorative stitching? I don't think ours does. Prayers for your friend. Let us know how it goes. Don't take chances on the roads in your bad weather. Give Ken his workout by toting totes of decorations. It didn't work with Bill. He went off to the gym and left me to haul them downstairs myself. But maybe you'll have better luck!
BECCA - I would think you were silly if you DID throw out your bedspreads! Old things are important.
CHRISS - I will pop over to Swaps and check out your birdhouse. I've got my fabric pulled and plan to cut today. I always fear if I wait until last minute something will come up and I'll miss the deadline. So when I commit to a swap, I start immediately. But you started even immediatliar!
Today will be, as I told Chriss, cutting out my birdhouse swap blocks (check this new swap out in the Swap section!), a few uglies, a load of wash, and then meeting two other couples for dinner at a local restaurant. It will be a good day!
Prayers for all our members who are meeting, fighting, and hopefully overcoming challenges of any kind right now.
Mary z

Good Morning Girls
Had to remind myself that it's really Thursday today.. sure feels like a Monday after having yesterday off! I'd be more excited about it if I didn't have to work this weekend. But it is what it is... I do have Monday off tho!
I heard on the news that you East Coast folks are going to get a massive amount of snow... I hope they are kidding!
Lois... good idea to be prepared for the snow fall. Hope it's cleared up before you have to go back to work on Monday.
Suzette.. Refinancing is a pain! I've had to do it a couple times and it's no fun getting all that paper work together. Hope it goes smoothly for you. You are in my daily thoughts and prayers--hoping the radiation doesn't cause you any problems.
Becca... Since you're going to the grocery store...would you do a little shopping for me too! That's on my Monday To Do list...I especially hate grocery shopping when it's going to below zero temps. But on the other hand.. a trip to Joann is planned for Monday and I'm going to love that!
Chriss.. I checked out your bird house--so cute. I'm thinking about it... will try a practice block before I commit. Yesterday I dug out a quilt top I made about 4-5 years ago.. decided to add another border it... now just need to find some backing fabric. Ya think I might be able to FINISH one in 2104!
Yesterday I got all the Christmas stuff put away, all the laundry done, sewed a little and even snuck in a short nap. Feels good to have the house back to normal. Didn't take me as long as I thought it would to get it all put away.. Now I just need a Tall Son to come over and help get the boxes up on shelves in the garage.
Better run for now... shower up and get ready for work!
Wishing you all a safe and warm day.

Re: Thursday, January 2nd
Good foggy cold rainy morning to ya. I had to turn space heater on in sewing room a meek 52 in there. chilly:) We heat with wood stove so only upstairs stays toasty and basement is a bit chilly but doable with space heater:) Usually noone down here anymore. We spend more time down here in summer cause cooler:)
Todays plan: UGLIES I have to mop those wood floors YUK. Dust, do some laundry and clean bathrooms then I can sew.
Weather is suppose to get bad here this afternoon. Drop in temp and start to freeze and chance of snow. HUMMMM winter again.
Well this ole house wont clean itself so I best get to it. Then I can sew some more:))
Scrappypat I thought of you with my morning devotion: Sing to the Lord a new song. Psalm 96:1 The Hymn "Another Year Is Dawning" was written by Francdes Havergal. her life was full of serious illness she never was able to attend school, marry, have chldren. Her father was an English clergyman who just started work at his first parish when thrown from a wagon that incapacitated him. Her mother died when she was 11; yet she still wrote many hymns that we all sing in Praise of the Great Physician:) Your in my prayers and know even through this trial our LORD and Savior will be with you.
God Bless you all and happy thoughts
Izzy

MARY Q - I thought of you while watching the weather on World News last night (isn't that David Muir a cutie!) and they mentioned MN and showed a picture of the frozen Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis. (or was it Minnetonka? I'm easy to confuse.)
IZZY - Brrrr!!!! I think I'd turn on the heat 30 minutes before I meant to start sewing!
