Good morning, happy new year..........
don't forget to sign up for the QIAD drawing... and if you go to quilt in a day on facebook there is a round robin type drawing including 15 businesses only 3 of the 15 haven't posted that they are doing it yet.. but it's a today only drawing...
O'Dorothy, my yesterday purchases were NYE favors because Mar had a friend sleep over last night... and a shirt from good will.. and applique pins and safety pins...
Scrappy Pat, you are still in my prayers.. sorry about Tom's ankle.. hope the lab in Cali solves your mystery... hugs too.
Judi, I am glad the quilt got to your friend so quickly, prayers to her... we always forget to put away ALL of Christmas...
Teresa, happy new year to you also, that sure is a lot of lotto blocks.
Lois, you party animal... hope your snow is light.
Suzette, I started watching the NYE show, saw the top 30 women singers, and went to bed...
Dolores, wish I was taking your sewing class... I am sure it will be fun to learn with you...
Maryz.. the first think I did today was check through this computer (e-mail, face book and QIAD) and drink coffee.. glad you stayed up you party animal... was Lois there?
it's official, I am banned from doing the dishes.. seems Marilyn emptied the dishwasher last and Jerry can't find the veggie peeler... he says he wants a new one and I told him before we have that huge expense we should tear the house apart looking for the old one...
I am going to watch a movie and sew... not sure yet which movie, still need to choose.
you gals have a safe, healthy and prosperous new year...hope God smiles on each of you.
Chriss

Good Morning Girls
*************HAPPY NEW YEAR*******************
Didn't quite stay awake until midnight.. tho I tried...Was pretty quiet around here, just watched a little TV. Having my coffee this morning, trying to get myself psyched up to De-Decorate too! It means going out to the very cold garage to get all the tote boxes! I know it will feel good to get everything back to normal.
Judi.. Yes I always find something that got missed getting in the boxes.. No matter how hard I try... there's still a lone Santa figurine or something hanging around after everything is back to the garage. what do you do with all the Christmas Cards you received? I just don't have the heart to just throw them away!
Maryz.. .so proud of you to stay awake until Midnight! I hope it's not true that what ever you do on the first day of the year, you'll do all year.. I don't want to spend the ENTIRE year cleaning!
Mepiece..... good to see you post here! I kind of hate to pack away the table topper and place mats you made for me! They are so darn cute! Will sure look forward to setting them out in December, 2014!
Dolores... .I'm headed to Joann on Monday... I found a great coupon for 25% off EVERYTHING and I have gift cards to spend!! Have fun with the girls and the pillowcases!!
Suzette... Enjoy your day in the studio!!! What a wonderful place to spend New Years Day!
Lois... You be careful in that snow! Better yet, just stay inside and watch it.
Chriss... Oh how I wish some one ban me from the kitchen all together! When ever I lost a kitchen tool, I was sure it was one of the kids trying to drive me to the nut house!
Velda... no resolutions for me either. But do you find as the older you get, you do a little more reflection on the last year? I do.. I keep a little journal throughout the year, tho many pages are blank.. I like to look back and remember all the good things! It reminds me how blessed I really am--in so many ways!
Teresa....WOW 595 Blocks!!! I'm so happy to have won some of the gorgeous blocks... may be this will be the year I'll get them put together! Thank you so much for the Lotto swap... it's my favorite you know! With any luck at all, I'll get my January ones in the mail on Monday.
Rosebud... Do you have to work today? I could have volunteered to work today, but since room mate is working.. I'm staying home!
Becca...I second that.... a Healthy New Year for us all!
ScrappyPat.....You and Tom are most definitely in my prayers today!!
Okay girls, if I'm every going to get that tree down today, I better get going. Would love to spend some time in the sewing room today too.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Good morning and Happy New Year to all my Cotton Pals!
I took my DGD home yesterday then got back in time to make oyster cracker snackies to go along with the beer bread for DS1's party last evening. We stayed until 11 or so, then came home and watched TV. When it gets real noisy, we leave the partying to the younger crowd. But, DS's ham 'n beans were delicious; he had cooked them over a fire in a big iron kettle all day.
Scrappy Pat--I sincerely hope that your doctors will make a diagnosis and start a treatment that will give you a "SURVIVOR!" button before long. Just know your friends are here with you all the way. So sorry you are having to go through all of this. Poor Tom--that has to be difficult for him!
Since my DGD was here, I didn't get much done on floors, so floors and Mt. Washmore are on my agenda today.

Happy New Year to all my pals here. Just a quick stop in to wish everyone only good things this year-2014. I am so far behind in reading what everyone has been doing so I need to catch up. I actually was awake at midnight last night. Today I am taking down the inside decorations while I watch the Rose Parade and Bowl games.
It is a good time to stay in because we are supposed to get 6 - 10 inches of snow over the next 48 hours, and it is going to get really cold. Great time to get some sewing done. Did have to make a quick trip to the store this morning because I forgot Pepper's dog food when I got groceries. It took me longer to get there because of the storm than to get the food. What we won't do for our pets!!
Well, better go get Pepper's IV done so I can watch the Parade. Prayers for all who need them. You are always in my thoughts.
Sherry

Good morning!
Happy New Year!
Just watching the parade. Told DH that next year, I want to be there. It isnot too bad of a drive from here and you can buy grandstand seating. That is one of the things on my bucket list. I have been in Pasadena once before, only after the parade and we drove the route. Still fun! Lol Sarah has marched in the parade when she was in high school with the band.
Family photos are this afternoon, so it is a laid back day, and bsides, there are football games on! YIPPEE!
Enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Jana

Happy New Year Everyone!
Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year! May we finish more projects than we start this year.
DH and I also made it until midnight. We turned out the lights right after saying Happy New Year, but we stayed awake. I managed to sleep in until 6:30. lol
Have a great day everyone!

Happy New Year!! Hope today is the beginning of a healthier and happier year that is stitches together with family, fun time and mountains of fabric!!
While the past year has been hectic and brought some heartfelt sorrows, we have been blessed with a dear grandson who is finally health & fills our hearts with such joy. He & his mom have moved back to our little town & we get to see them many times each week. Hubby & I are basically healthy for our ages & I look forward to a year that will see possible retirement for me.
May each of my stitching family enjoy this first day of 2014 with those they hold dear, doing something that brings them joy and cherish each moment. Happy Stitching!! Debi

A very Happy New Year 2014 to everyone on this forum.
May God bless you all with lots of love, hope, happiness, good health, and lots of quilting.
May your days be filled with memory making moments, your projects stitched with love, and your future days, all 365 in this year, be truly wonderful for all of you and your families and friends.
Lots of love and hugs and prayers for those in need across the miles and around the world.
Shirley Mae
ps WE saw a robin in our front yard this morning. Is this a sign of an early spring or just a very lost robin?

MaryQ, you were asking Judi about what to do with Christmas cards. Please don't throw them away. Check with your local church, school, or daycare to see if they could use them.
My sister, Marianne, belongs to a group that begins Operation Shoebox in Jan and works all yr long. They would love to have the front part only of your Christmas cards. They use them like a postcard and write a little note to tuck into shoeboxes filled with toys, small clothing items, and treats, that are sent around the world to children in need. They sent out 300 boxes this past yr in Nov.
Marianne also does a card ministry in their church year around and makes new cards from fronts of other cards of any kind to pass out to lonely, elderly, etc in their church. Please check with your local churches to see if they do the same thing or might like to start such a program. She uses the verses too sometimes to glue inside of a card if it is a nice little poem etc. They don't use anything personal on the cards.
They put a box out at church and note in bulletin board requesting old cards to recycle for new purposes to pass along the love. Thank you for asking about this. Perhaps others might use this idea too.
God bless you for wanting to recycle something too pretty to throw away. We all need to pass along things like this and make others, especially the elderly, a little brighter day full of smiles and love.
Hugs to all, Shirley Mae

Good morning
we stayed up and watched the ball drop, Ryan Seacrest said a few seconds before the ball dropped to "grab the one you love" so I grabbed ahold of Frankie and gave him a big ole KISS! LOL
Happy New Year to you all! Have a wonderful day!
