SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Dec 30
Hi, all!
I tried to post this earlier but it didn't 'go'. QIAD said "Oops! that file may have moved." so I cutted and pasted and am trying it again. Hope you don't get it twice now!
that navy bean soup sounds delish. Maybe I need to get some beans, too.
BECCA - sounds like ham will be part of your life for some time to come! I have a few recipes for casseroles using ham . . .
Tonite we're invited to friends for that finger food buffet and games. Puppies are invited. another couple that is coming also have a puppy about a month younger than Scottie. A yorkie. The puppies have met but it's been a while.
I was pondering what to take but took stock of the fridge. We have a tray of cheese slices we bought at Costco, several boxes of crackers, and some Smokie sausages. I'm going to wrap a bit of bacon around the sausages and stick them under the broiler with a little BBQ sauce on them. I also found some egg rolls in the freezer that didn't get heated on Christmas Eve. I'm going to take them along, too. Just to get rid of them. We didn't care for them ourselves. Hope there's lots of people!
Happy Eating!

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - Sounds like you figured out the finger foods for this evening's party. Good for you!
The company has gone home so we won't have drop in visits. My DH really enjoyed the visits the past few days. This long weekend it will just be the two of us. We are both looking forward to spending some time together.
Tonight will be mac n cheese. We have lots of food in freezer but we need a light meal. Think it will be a salad, rice and green beans with it.
Have a great day!
Carol

Good early afternoon from cold, lightly snowing, dreary, SW. Pa.....Oh well, maybe we'll get this nasty stuff over with and jump into "spring" come Wed....(I can only dream).....
Mary, once again, you have me completely confused...I thought this was Monday, then saw Tuesday and then wasn't sure...With the Sundays and the holy days, we've been going to Mass a lot and that really throws you off...Not the Mass part, just the days, lol.....But, hopefully it's Monday...You know it used to be easy, Monday-wash, Tuesday-iron etc.....
It does sound like you have the food department covered...You "stuff" sounds yummy....And for Scottie to be invited, that's special....
Our house is back to being quiet and I hate it...I walked around all morning hoping thinking someone would walk down the stairs or the dog would bark...Darn, the only thing they left behind was a dirty pair of socks.........So, it's back to 2 grumpy old people and 2 ornery furbabies.........
As far as dinner, we're having soup...When we left breakfast yesterday, I bought a quart of vegetable beef soup (that is to die for)...So, that's on our menu along with left over stale cookies for afters..............
Happy eating...........

Good Morning to all.We also have a dreary day.Snowing in most Northern Mtns.
IRISH I know how you feel.I am that way after everyone leaves.Have to get adjusted to just two again. After being at my sons with 19 it is quite a change.
MARYz I have several recipes using ham.I just wanted a ham.Alex had one but his was a fresh ham.Tasted really different.C.A.'s Mom used to always have fresh ham for Christmas.I never cared for it.
As Maryz said it will be ham, green beans & applesauce.C.A. is making head way on his stash of cookies.....Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Dec 30
Good Evening All.....was just a blowy day....but now its wet and blowy.....well....what weather we have become accustomed to just lately....though to be honest...in our part of GB...we have been very...very lucky.....our fields look like lakes....but our homes are safe and dry....I think its Jules"s county Surrey that has had the brunt of the floods and power cuts.....we have had a number of power "blips" that can be frustrating....but rather them than full blown power cuts.....
So for a while I have been head cook....bottle washer....part time sewer.....and nurse....Sir has had the sneezes and is convinced he has "Man Flu"...though he did manage a Christmas dinner.....between the sneezes....
With the "blips" would have a chance to start to post.....then lost it all a couple of times....so gave up.....all seems settled at the moment....fingers crossed.....
We had Beef and Pork joints....instead of Turkey.....so yesterday I minced up the Beef and made a Shepherds Pie....had so much....it carried over to today.....so that's what we had the last two days.....and for afters a Chocolate Cheese cake
I have tried to read back....but have more to catch up on......
I"m sure you all have had a good Christmas.....and loads and loads to eat.....and I didn't get the chance to say Happy Christmas.....so I"ll say it now......Happy Christmas.....
Carol......will tell you the story of no. 2 sewing machine tomorrow.....and I still haven't heard about no.1 machine yet.....money ready in my hot little hand....but no news from our friends family yet........

Good morning!
Dinner tonight is still up in the air - last night everyone showed up for dinner - and boy can you stretch a meal for three into a meal for 9 with a couple of extra packages of tortellini! Whew!
I think that the kids are planning a get together at one of their houses for games and munchies - I think that I will watch the New Year come in at East Coast time and then pull up the covers and get warm! LOL
Enjoy
