SUPPER CLUB -Tues, Dec 31st

I tried to post Dec 30th's S.C. here earlier and QIAD said it didn't 'go'. so I reposted it on a new thread. Then I saw that BOTH posted after all. So we'll just edit this one and make it for Dec 31st! Stay tuned . . .

BOY, QIAD hasn't been liking me the last few days. Yesterday they wouldn't post my Supper club and then suddenly both of my tries were posted! Since there are no 'backsies', but only 'editsies' so I made one of them a post for today. Sorry if I confused anyone. IT WASN'T MY FAULT!

tonite, I think we're going to decide on a special meal and both work at cooking it. Don't know yet what it will be. Then we are going to watch the first harry potter movie and one of our fave Christmas movies we haven't seen yet - this year. and maybe play a game. Just the two of us. Maybe I can even talk DH into a foot rub.

Good late morning from snowy, cold, SW. Pa....Yea, we're having snow, something new!

Mary, I know it's not your fault to confuse old people like me, I can do it all on my own, several times a day.....
Sounds like you have a special evening planned along with a foot rub, good to be you......

Now if you want to hear about REAL celebrating...We go to our neighbor's, Ted and Donna's, about 7:00, sit at the table and eat stale cookies and drink coffee and then about 9:00, we have a glass of wine, toast the new year and walk back home....

As far as our dinner, I didn't have a pork roast but found 2 pork chops in the freezer, put them in the crock pot with sauerkraut and later will throw in a couple of hot dogs....We might have some tonight or it might be for tomorrow....

What is everyone eating or planning????

The kids are getting together at Matt's to celebrate with munchies and games. The boys have been working on finishing off the utility room in Matt's basement, so that will happen as well. As for me, we are staying home and Michael will probably catch up on the Adam-12's he has dvr'd and I am stuck with that! LOL! I will find a football bowl game to watch as well.

Happy New Year's Eve!

I will go up to the Club House and bead with the group this afternoon. I'm working on a bracelet that I designed a while back. It's half hexagons and I'm using only 4 colors this time. My original was several colors.

I thinking we will have a Taco salad before going up to the New Year's Eve party at the Club House, at 6:30. Suppose to take some finger food to share. I made some more Beef Jerky a couple days ago and plan to take that. Everyone who has tried it, really likes it. Party doesn't last long, will probably be back to the Motorhome by 8.

I got laundry done & am still working on drawers.What treasures you find but have been tossing a lot.

Good Evening All.....today the weather has been a little.....just a little.....kinder to us.........

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-

DUE TO CURRENT COMMITMENTS.......THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL HAS BEEN SWITCHED OFF........

The sad tale of no.2 sewing machine.....my friends brother....his daughter having assured him she really didn't want it.....went delving into his cellar with the intentions of giving it a good clean.....couldn't find it....daughter....sister....and grandson.....roped in on the grand search...it was not to be found anywhere.....he couldn't understand how a sewing machine could go walkies on its own.....then...and then.....memories flooded back.....many years ago his mother had asked him to dump the machine at the tip.....and make her a garden planter out of the base.....which is what he did....we all had a good laugh....but he insists on checking out all the Charity shops in the hopes of finding another one.......now that my friends.....IS a friend......

Our fields are still like Lakes.....and mini floods in the roadsides.....what we need now is a wonderful heatwave to dry us out.......but somehow it doesn't look as though that is in our future any time soon........

Sir still has "manflu" so all my oil-burners with essensial oils have been bought into service....and now would you believe.....am running low on Tea-Lights and wont be able to re-stock until Thursday......
Menu today.....Chicken and Dumpling Casserole (in the slow-cooker)and Rice Pudding for afters (in the little slow-cooker)......

A HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FRIENDS ON QIAD.....and hopefully be back tomorrow.......Carol

Tonight for us will be quiet. DH is working today so we may just stay home and watch a movie and have popcorn. The crazy fools in the Los Angeles area light off fireworks and shoot guns at midnight. Even though we go to bed early we almost always are awakened.

For dinner it will be cornbread with Navy Bean & Ham Soup. You know I made it on Sunday and it has been "aging" so it will be even better tonight.

Mary - No big deal about the two entries. Enjoy the foot rub.

Irish - I haven't had sauerkraut since I was a girl. My Mom made it. Dad really liked it.

Lyn - Enjoy the party!

Jana - You did not say what you would be eating, so maybe it is those hot dogs you like while watching the football game.

Becca - Enjoy salad and ham. I love ham! I have a small piece left so tomorrow I think it will be scalloped potatoes and ham. Yum-yum!!
