Good morning pals
What a Blessed week we had with Evan and Courtney visiting us. I told my Mom that I didn't even have to tell them we were getting a divorce for them to visit ... then I had to tell her the joke about the Dad calling his son and daughter telling them he was leaving his wife. When he hung up he turned to his wife and said they were coming for Christmas and we don't have to pay. Mom cracked up!!! We had a great Open House and saw lots of old friends. We went to the Movies on Monday and saw The Hobbit 2. After that Courtney's Bronchitis was in full swing so late Tuesday and Wednesday were quiet days playing Rummikub, drinking tea, taking meds and naps. Evan had some great conversations with Rob which was thrilling to listen to. We dropped Evan at the Airport on Thursday and spent the night in Vegas and dropped Courtney at the airport on Friday. Went and took some pics of the atrium at the Bellagio and then went to only 2 quilt stores where I picked up some great Solids for the January Lotto. The thread is up and running because a few of you asked for it early. The meds the Dr. put me on are still making me a bit loopy and tired. Courtney says I will get used to them. Sigh ... The kids are growing up :)

We haven't heard yet but today should be the day the little one will be arriving one way or another. Jen's amniotic fluid was to low so they induced. If nothing was happening by last night they were going to do a C-Sec. So we wait and pray for a healthy and safe delivery.

Today I will be starting the Poinsettia Twisted 4-patch using a holly pattern and trying out some pre-wound Magna-Glide delights bobbins. Prayers that all goes well :) :)

Missed you all in between enjoying the kids. Hope you are all enjoying the holiday festivities. I am off to bed. HUGS, LOVE and BLESSINGS!!!

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
Well, I am going to say something I know a lot of us will say this time of year. Next year I am going to start the Christmas shopping early. It took me a half hour in line just to get a gift card. I still have baking to do and clean the house. Talk about multi tasking. Maybe if I am lucky I will get out to my studio. Have a great day.

Good Morning Cotton Pals

Well I feel exactly the same way Suzette does. by this
time I am done with the shopping. I usually start
in September and pick things up as I see them but with
the grandkids getting older they change their minds a
lot.

Even with the gotchie boxes I had to ask several times
what kind of undies and sizes are they.

My granddaughter wanted a push up bra and her mother said
NO. but I was in walmart and found one on clearance for 3.00
so I got it

I am not making any cookies because my daughter and daughter in law both baked so cookies will be delivered on Christmas eve.

I will finish up wrapping today and then house cleaning for us
My husband is such a good helper. Him and I dusted all of the shelves and pictures in the living room already. tomorrow its the bathrooms and then the bedrooms. The sewing room will be donne when the packages are under the tree.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Dolores

Good morning everyone,

Suzette, I'm with you---early shopping sounds great for next year. I had a problem shopping this year, family has anything and everything they could ever want. It's hard to buy gifts when they don't need a thing.

Dolores, I like your Gotchie boxes. I'm still making cookies. I might be ready for Christmas the last minute. My niece told me last night I would be having 2 more Christmas guest. I love company so 2 more plates at the dinner table.

Teresa, sounds like a lot is going on in your world.

It's pouring the rain--it's a good sound. We need the water.
I guess I will clear away all my sewing mess tomorrow. I have to get the sewing hidden before all the company gets here. Have a great day Redtop

Morning all.....this will be a quickie as it's been a hectic/busy/exciting few days and I'm feeling ever so slightly frazzled

Teresa - so glad you had a wonderful time with your children, what a wonderful present in the run up to Christmas :)

Suze - I do start my Christmas shopping early.....not consciously, but if I see things through the year that are bargains, or nice, I pick them up and put them away in my Christmas box, then about Sept time, I go through and work out who will get what and then I usually only have a couple more things to buy.....nice and easy and no stress :)

Delores - luckily I don't have the problem of teenagers changing their mind yet, but issn't it easier getting most things done and out of the way early :)

Tess - glad you got needed rain :) hope you're not like me when you tidy away your sewing things....I find things and start fiddling and I get easily distracted :)

Well I got an early Christmas present from DH.....he bought me aa new sewing machine - not that I needed one - but he got me an amazing sewing machine with a big embroidery kit, which I have no idea how to use, but i geet free lessons at the store it was bought from, I'm very excited and can't wait to polay with the embroidery side of it, but I won't go for any lessons til after the new year, I'm sure playhing twith the rest of the machine will keep me happily entertained until then.....I sold my other machine to Charleys friend, she was going to go and buy a machine after Christmas, she didn't have enough money to buy the same machine as my old one - which is what she really wanted - so she was going to buy a few models down from my one.....so DH said she could have my old machine for the price she was going to buy the other machine for....so she is thrilled, she got the machine on friday and is so excited, once Christmas is out of the way I m going to give her some lessons on what it can do as she has gone from a very old 40year old second hand machine to a modern computerised one and they feel very different.....so everyone is happy and we've all had a lovely surprise for Christmas :)

I had all the family round yesterday....boy was that hectic, but it was lovely to catch up with everyone and meet up with the new family we discovered recently.....and little Harry, who is 3, loved the bear I made him :)

well I've got to dash, I've told myself I can't play with my new machine until I tidy and sort my studio....it's a complete mess with all my last minute sewing gifts for christmas, so I'd better go and make a quick lunch and get back to cleaniing....

Love and prayers toyou all xxxx

Jules - I love your idea for Christmas Shopping. Thanks for sharing. September is a good start time. Cold weather items have been out for a long while.

Good Morning!

We are having a great visit with my sis and BIL, but in order to have any computer time, I'm having to get up earlier and earlier. I'm even waking up Scottie now instead of the other way around! And is Scottie enjoying having another little sheltie around! The two dogs love each other!

TERESA - so happy your visit with the kids went so well! Hope doors have opened with Evan and now you'll see more of him.

SUZ - Sorry you had to waste so much time waiting in line just for a card. My sis has made cards by fussy cutting flowers from a piece of fabric or wrapping paper and gluing them to card stock. I'm not "card-creative" but that one works for me in a pinch!

DELORES - My house needs cleaning, too, but I've had no time to take a break from messing it up to clean it! I decided not to bake anything either. And we haven't seemed to notice the lack of Christmas cookies around here!

TESS - sounds like you'll be ready for the big day right on time! So, with a handle like "Redtop", do you have red hair? I do. My 'handle' is "Little Red".

JULES - congratulations on your new machine! I saw it on FB. Lucky you! And the lucky girl who got your old machine! I like your way of shopping. I do the same thing - buy things I run across through the year (though not consiously Christmas shopping) and then about Sept or Oct I go through it all and start making lists of anything else I might need.

BECCA - I'm so sorry to learn of a close family loss - especially at the holidays. A hug for your family!

We are so busy with our company, but enjoying everything. Yesterday was shopping, a long visit & homemade pizza lunch with my middle brother, and an evening game of Monopoly (I let her win. ;o] ) and the movie, "Christmas with the Kranks". Today they are going to visit a cousin so I'll have the entire afternoon to vacuum, dust, pick up the house, and cook supper. And I'd love a nap! I've been getting up at 0430 just to have 30 minutes to myself!

Hope everyone is getting it happily together for the last few days before the Big Day! And that CHICKIE finds her pants! or her pants find her!! lol!

Good morning...
I've been a busy beaver helping Emily with her table runners and wall hanging. They are now DONE! :-) I will take pictures and post tomorrow.
We are off to church in a little while. Poor DH has a terrible migraine and will not be able to go :-(

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday.
Keep looking up,
Vicky
