Hi Pals - WELCOME TO The LOTTO BLOCK FUN 2014!!! I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas Festivities and will be Ringing in the New Year with Lots of hopes and dreams for all the projects you want to start and finish this year. It is my hope that these Plans include joining us this year for lots of fun, finding a New Block you really like and possibly WINNING ENOUGH to MAKE a WHOLE QUILT plus getting to know more about your Pals.
IT IS TIME to get started on the New Years Lotto Blocks! WOOHOO!!!! I predict it will be another GREAT Year and I am looking forward to seeing some new Pals join along with all our Faithful ones.
*** This first block of the year is a variation on the 9-patch using SOLID FABS. Yes you read it right - TOTAL SOLIDS (No Marbles) Here is a picture of it.

The colors in the picture are just a sample to find your inspiration of what you might choose from your stash.
You will be sending sets of 2 each: (9-patch 6.5" blocks)-(6.5" blocks)-(3 strip 6.5" blocks) using 2.5" strips of SOLID FABs. See the Picture
*** The hint for successful blocks is to check the measurements of your strips after you sew the first 2 together and after adding each of the next strips and also to make sure the line on your ruler is lined up on each strip seams when you cut to ensure no crooked blocks
* Each of the Blocks are = 6.5"+ unfinished blocks
* See the picture for samples of colors and fabrics
* USE ONLY SOLIDS
* Please MEASURE to check the block size BUT DO NOT SQUARE THEM UP
* Attach a name label to the upper FRONT corner of EACH block
* Please have them to me by the LAST DAY of the month.
*** LET THE NEW YEAR BEGIN WITH A FREEBIE MONTH - SEND NO MONEY

* 1 ticket = Signups by 1st of JANUARY (no commitment obligation)
* 1 ticket = for each set of 2's of each kind
* 1 ticket = if your blocks reach me by the 31st

Oh Mary - sorry to hear your jelly rolls are crappy. Why is that?? Stash diving is fun. You get to see fabrics you have forgotten all about.

Hi Teresa, What a pretty quilt! I know this looks simple and wish I could join you this month. I am still unpacking about a "zillion" boxes and have no idea where some of my fabric might be. Not sure I have much solids to work with either and fabric is not in our budget right now.

But I will be here, checking on all of your progress. Please post pics of some of the blocks. Nice to see various color combos and ideas that others are using. Hoping to get back into sewing and quilting one of these days now that moved in and holidays will soon be behind us.

Thank you everyone for all of your inspirational sewing over the yr. Gave me lots of ideas even tho I didn't get a chance to join in. I watch from the sidelines and admire you all for doing these. Good luck to whoever wins these.
