Hello everyone.I posted here a few times but I am not good about doing regular posts. I do read the news from all of you...read every day and I do pray for those in need, both humans and pets. I enjoy reading about the furry kids( and goats!) and all their antics.

Hope each and every one of you have a joyous and blessed Christmas.

To Scrappy Pat......you know that you are always in my prayers. Keep looking towards the Lord.

Dolores.....I'm so sorry to hear your arthritis is causing you so much pain. I have just a little & it so annoying & painful. Happy to hear you dinner was a good one.

Good Morning Girls

First of all, Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for my Aunt Pitty Pat. The Good Lord took her home early this morning. I have such joy in my heart for her today. She is now reunited with my Mom and all of her siblings and her parents as well. She went peacefully in her sleep and is now in the arms of Jesus! She had been sad so many years since my Mom's passing that I am so grateful that they are together again.

Scrappy Pat.... you will most definitely be in my thoughts and prayers!! Not to worry honey, I haven't figured out my smart phone either--guess I'm not smart enough! I just learned I can say something out loud and have it turn into a text message! How cool is that? I only got the darn thing so I could Face Time with Jen in Alaska! That works pretty darn cool!

Karlene...You're one of THOSE Gramma's? SOGWPIP Silly Old Gramma With Pictures in Purse! These days all the pictures are on the smart phone! And little video clips too!

Cindyg... It's a good thing we don't live together, we'd starve! Since neither one of us like to cook! And cooking shows on TV is the LAST thing I would watch. So totally understand about taking the Dog to the Vet before going to the Dr for yourself. I'd be the same way!!

Maryz... so you will have a White Christmas after all? If you'd like some MORE snow I'd be happy to send you some! Snowed a little here last night, just enough to make the roads slippery, I took the back way home to avoid the crazies on the freeway. Sounds like you are having A GREAT time with you Sis! What A treat to play and visit just like a couple kids!

Lois.... I heard about the Target thing on the news yesterday and went online this morning to check out my card! So far so good! Kind of scary tho. My sewing room misses me, haven't been in there for days... Mostly right now it says "CLEAN ME"

Tina.... all good wishes for a clear Mammo!!

Kathy...Glad to hear you are on TOP of the weather now instead of under it. This is NOT the time of year to be sick!

Suzette... Hope your Mammo is all clear too! How many radiation treatments will you have?

Dolores... sorry to hear you are in so much pain with Art. Makes it hard to feel like doing anything when you hurt. Can you take Ibuprofen? Does it help? There are new guide line for Tylenol now.. max of 3000mg in a day! They are worried about liver damage from too much Tylenol. And here we thought that was the safest pain reliever out there.

Velda... I glanced at the Time For Self post a little this morning. So important to take time for self in our days. Time to recharge our batteries and do something WE like to do--great for the endorphins too!

Becca... Aren't Black Labs the best!! I had temporary custody of my son's black lab for while. I still miss him.. he got what they think was cancer at a young age and we had to let him go. For days I expected him to be at the door when I got home. When I retire... I'm getting myself a Black Lab!

Chriss... There's NO WAY I'm ready for Christmas! Still have to finish up a little gift shopping, and grocery shopping. Turns out I am NOT going to have my kids for Christmas Dinner as they are going to their Dad's. I was going to oldest son's for Eve, but now I have to work til 9. Am thinking the kids might be able to come here for a Christmas breakfast. Need to find the recipe for an egg bake or something to make. I did have kids last year, so I guess it's only fair they go to Dad's this year.

Edieann...Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas too! In the New Year, stop by and chat!!

Well, girls, guess I'll go see if I can clean up a few messes around here this morning. Today is pay day, so need to pay some bills. Room mate has the day off so she is still sleeping. She works the weekend, so I will have the house to myself. We did talk the other day I mentioned that after the 1st of the year she could start looking for a place of her own... we'll see how that goes!

wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Good morning!

Lois - hope your PT and uglies fly by so you can finish wrapping. I don't shop at Target either, but boy oh boy what a concern that would be.

Suzette - congrats on 2nd place! I sure hope we get to see a picture of you in it. I hope you make it to your studio. Good luck with the squish.

Dolores - sorry to hear that you're in so much pain. I'll have to go check out that website. What are gotchie boxes?

Velda - thanks for the tip about the chit chat thread - it's really something I could use. I am in total agreement with you about this forum.

Becca - enjoy your visitors today.

Maryz - it sounds like you're having a wonderful visit with your sis - yay! How cute is that - trying to catch snowflakes on his tongue! He is such a cutie.

Chriss - sounds like you almost have Christmas 'wrapped' up - get it? I got to go to lunch because every two months or so I'm allowed to go out in public. HA! No - this luncheon club was put together by Karlene's mom and another woman 25 years ago when they moved out to the country. They figured it would be the best way to get to know one another. It is fab, let me tell you. The hostess supplies the main dish and everyone else brings something to go with it. I met the son of a woman who was new last time (like I was). He's 22 years in the marines and retired - living in Okinawa with his marine wife who will retire in two years. After that, they're moving back here and have already claimed a spot on his mom's 60 acres. Such a nice, respectful young man. I also like the marshmallow fudge better. I remember wanting a wife back when I was working...!

Cindyg - oh your poor little guy - I said a prayer for him also. Made my eyes juicy to hear his story. And then I spat coffee onto my laptop when I got to the chicken tittie part. Have I told y'all how my dad made us say chicken chest instead of breast?! Oh my.... I stopped at Chipotle's on the way home last night instead of having the King Ranch casserole. Hadn't been there in two months and it was divine.

Karlene - welcome to the club! I love showing off my grandchildren as well. Hope you don't get too much more snow.

Pat - I have been wondering about your PET scan. Prayers have already been said for your biopsy today. You're smart to lay in supplies before the storm comes a 'knocking.

Judi - we're twins - I slept in too, but until 7. But I went to bed at 9:30 last night. DH got up at 4am yesterday - ugh. Have fun at IKEA.

EdieAnne - so lovely to see your post! I am so grateful for another prayer warrior. Have a blessed day.

Kathy - I'm happy to hear you're feeling better. Have fun baking - I'll be joining you in the kitchen.

Tina - happy squishing to you as well.

Maryq - my sympathies on the loss of your sweet aunt, and I'm rejoicing with you that she's having a huge family reunion. My cousin just posted that they expect my aunt to pass today. Very sad. I've been seeing lots of egg casserole dishes for the crock pot - that would be right up my alley. I would cook for y'all if someone would take care of the uglies in return. I love labs as well - one of our grand dogs is brown lab. They are the sweetest dogs and have the best disposition for kids. Both granddaughters learned to walk by pulling themselves up on the lab. I'm glad you put the roommate on notice.

Izzy - can't wait to see pictures of your walking holly bush!

I've been trying to finish up this post for over an hour. First I had to get DH his breakfast, and then he needed help trying to put together a cabinet for the laundry room. As he was using the nail gun to attempt to connect the back with the nail gun, I mentioned wouldn't it be icky if the nail went through the fiberboard and hit me? So of course, ten minutes later, I felt a thwack in my ankle where a nail hit me. Luckily I had on my really thick socks so all it left was a welt. Now that he's gone to town, I'll get busy baking cookies and that lovely cranberry bread. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Good morning!

The snow has finally stopped for today - more tomorrow - Stu shoveled ours, my niece's, and our next door neighbor - he was stuck at some airport - he's the pilot and SLC was closed most of yesterday due to the snow. Then a neighbor across the street came out and asked if Stu wanted to earn some more money - so Stu shoveled his too! He is such a good kid! He had to go to school early today as well, part of his janitorial job is to shovel at the school too. Snow is deep enough, that out my sewing room window - I can't see the top of the fence anymore.

Sarah's company party went very well last night and they got there safe and home safe too.

No, I haven't got the divinity made yet - got sidetracked with watching little boy - he is a hoot! We bought the Fisher Price Santa's House - well in it is some little chairs for the little people to sit in - about 2 inches big - but little boy thought that he could sit in one - tried several times, before he gave up! I was was ROFLOL.

Well I am starting another wreath quilt, need to get it done shortly - for another nephew - I have done one for his sisters, so I had better not leave him out!

Have a grand day - my son from California will be leaving and get here sometime Saturday or Sunday and I will have him for two whole weeks!! Yippee!!! He is driving - so we are watching the weather closely - hopefully he will leave and get here on Sunday - it will be clear across Nevada that day.

Hugs
Jana

Good morning!

It was a snowy, slippery ride in to work this morning. I was only 20 minutes late for work....since I am the only one in the office today, nobody knows but me! LOL

Maryq, so sorry for your loss. Love your positive attitude about it, though....hugs!

I am just about ready for Christmas! Still a few more things to wrap, but I will knock that out this weekend. I think DGS and I will bake some cookies this weekend. Other than that, not much else will be going on.

Pat, prayers continue for a full recovery. Suze, prayers continue for you as well.

Like so many have said, y'all are family to me. It is so strange that we can feel so close to folks we have never met, isn't it?

Cindyg, you crack me up with that "chicken tittie" talk! We will be having chicken tittie sandwiches for our Christmas Eve dinner! My kids just love when I make them. Of course, DGS will have to have chicken strips. Just wish I could get my sandwiches to taste like Chik-fil-a! Close, but not quite! LOL

Well, I better get busy...no telling when the boss will stroll by.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Prayers for all those in need....

Hugs,
Mel

Good afternoon! Somehow everything I do today is taking much longer than I think it should. I made a cheese ball for the dinner tomorrow, and it seemed to take forever to chop all the ingredients finely. I miss my Cuisinart; I should use a Bed, Bath and Beyond discount and replace it. It won’t be too soon… my Christmas came early… in truck repairs. It received new fuel injectors, new front brakes and an oil change. I’m sure there was more… the bill was just under $1100. (faint!)

We awoke to COLD and blustery… quite a difference from yesterday’s mild but windy cool. I looked first when I went to feed the birds—good thing, as there was a coating of ice, and was it ever slick! I didn’t go down the steps, just threw seeds from the porch.

I know why the Secret Santa packages took so long to arrive… I had an LL Bean shipment left Freeport Maine on 12/10; visited Palatine IL on 12/12, Lenexa KS on 12/12, Spokane WA on 12/17, Hermiston OR on 12/18, Salt Lake City on 12/18, and Commerce City CO 12/20… It was supposed to be delivered to me by 12/16. I wonder if I’ll receive it by Christmas. At least it’s not a gift… another pair of flannel-lined jeans for me.

Scrappy Pat—I sure hope you have a full recovery! This is the best place to be… we’ve all got your back and are lifting you up! HUGS!

I finished making pot holders yesterday, and now I’m going to start wrapping my gifts and making sure I haven’t forgotten anyone. I’m also behind on writing out Christmas cards, so I need to do that too.

MaryQ—I am so sorry for your loss, but what a special gift for your Aunt and all her siblings including your Mom. Beautiful!

I’m off to start wrapping… Have a wonderful afternoon!
