Good Morning,

SUZETTE - your pictures made me cold!! Hope power is restored soon to everyone and you can make your dr appt.

LOIS & DELORES - you two posted 29 minutes apart, both in NJ. Yet, Lois you only have an inch of snow an Delores, you have 8"! NJ isn't that big. What a striking difference! Lois, hope you make your PT today!

IRISH - Hope your Jim is feeling better today.

BECCA - glad it wasn't snow!! and so great that your DGS got your package already. In December, there are no guarantees. Even when they guarantee it! I bet he really enjoyed a bit of home.

JULES - Is this the cousin you discovered through genealogy? What a great gift! Enjoy the new grandbaby stories. With Charley's wedding looming, you'll be telling them yourself soon enough!

CHRISS - you're 24* and we're at 23*. You wrapped your orange tree in a blankie and I wrapped my jasmine in a blankie. You apparently are going to the loony bin and I'm going to the Mall! It's like we're distant twins.

TINA - sorry your DS couldn't make it for your bd, but it sounds like you had a happy day anyway. ;o) Soup for supper sounds great to me!

Our dinner party last night was so fun, one couple brought a friend who was a truly delightful young lady. Someone you immediately take to your heart. Today is kind of a free day, I think. Nothing on my calendar, no uglies to speak of, shopping/wrapping/cards are all done. I will putter out in our trailer, I think, making it ready for my DS & DBIL (Tina and Imitation Al) to stay in next week. I'm waiting for a pattern for a wall hanging to arrive which is my very last gift. So I'll be busy when it gets here.

Hope everyone stays warm, dry, happy, and on the road, if you're driving in icy condition!

Less than two weeks and the days will start getting longer!

Mary Z

Sorry, for walking on some of you.

IZZY, glad your temps are back up again. We're supposed to "warm up" to the low 30's this afternoon. Seems we were just all sweltering in late summer heat!

JUDI - happy that Nolan's birthday was so neat. and I love the name Nolan, by the way. Prayers for Cindi and Nancy. It must be so scary for both of them.

Good Cloudy Morning.....

We have a covering of icy snow. I was expecting so much more. It should be gone by the time I go shopping with my sister tonight. I slept in a little today I didn't fall asleep until almost 3am. I'm not sure why.
Today is finish cards & wrapping. Oh yes make up a package of the clothes I bought for the DGC...get that in the mail.

Suzette....oh dear no power is a big problem in the snow, I sure hope they get connected soon. Can't wait to see the pictures of the wedding. Have a good post op check up. Every thing has a coating of ice...it will sparkle when the sun comes out.

Jules....has all the terrible weather ended for GB? I hope you had a calm trip to visit you mum & cousin. Thank you for being my SS!! You did a wonderful job. You know I love your taste in fabric.

Lois.....happy shopping!! Hope you find all you need.

Dolores....wow! 8"! Does anyone have more the that that? I heard this storm stretched from TX to the NE. Good day to stay home.

Becca....your package seemed to get to your GDS so fast. That's good news. I'm sure he was happy to get a piece of home.

Chriss....Happy to hear your orange tree make it through the snow. OH I wish I could have citrus trees... I'd have some of each plus avocado!!

Tina....you have a full/busy day planed. Hope your B'day was fun & the cake yummy.

Izzy....happy to hear you finished you topper.

Judi.....will keep your friend in my prayers.

Maryz....good to hear you dinner went well...I knew it would.

Good frosty morning! We have a little ice on the vehicle windows—I’m not going out, but DH doesn’t miss coffee with the other geezers, so he gets to scrape… Yesterday, we bundled up (think blue and tan Michelin man) and took an UTV ride to get the dogs some exercise. I was still cold, but it was beautiful and the dogs had a blast. The little birds have been having feeding frenzies in all the places I’ve put out feed.

I’m so sorry for all of you who have the ice. It’s so dangerous and destructive. The landscape doesn’t recover for years. Then there are the wrecks, power outages, etc…

My Minkey scarves are made. I ordered some of the more exotic pieces—shaggy, curly, embossed… They turned out really neat (and WARM). I may have to make some more… Today will be some table runners and more potholders. I’ll have to get a few packages ready to mail when everything is finished.

Judi—funny your kids didn’t find the pioneer adventure a fun time. Did you ever watch that series on PBS (maybe 15 years ago) called “Frontier House”? That was one of my favorites. I’m not sure I could have made it but like to think I could do it better than several of the families. I used to grill outside in the winter when we didn’t have power, too. I’m lifting up your friends…

Jules—enjoy your day with your cousin!

If it’s not an emergency, don’t go out today. Stay in, sew, and stay warm!

Good morning quilting buddies,
I've missed our weather report over the last few days so I'm not really sure what to expect today (probably should look!) but I was so surprised yesterday to see snow at so many of the NFL games and yet we didn't have any! It isn't very often that there is snow in PA and not in NY too. With no significant snow over the weekend, David got the lights up outside and I got the decorations up inside.

I'm not sure what I'm doing after work today - I have some things to drop off to Victoria, and I need to get a package sent to Denver so I should check the weather and see what a good day is to go to the city.

Well, onwards and upwards!
Have a wonderful day everyone,
Karlene

Suz - glad to see you made it through the winter blast and that your nephew's wedding was lovely. My BFF's son is getting married next weekend - thankfully it's in New Orleans and a very small family wedding so I don't get to go. Where's the Kleenex.....NOT. I went to their wedding shower yesterday.

Jules - Please don't panic. I know the feeling though. I don't like going places by myself either but once I get there everything is fine. Then I have to drive home by myself and I get panic-y again. Enjoy the visit today. You also have Charlie's house to talk about.

Lois - I hope your PT goes well. How much longer for that? I sure need to get busy with my shopping.

Delores - 8" of snow. I wouldn't know what to do with that - LOL.

Becca - blessings and thanks to your DGS in the Army. I so appreciate what they do.

Chriss - I would not like to live in the 1830's. I don't like the idea of going to an outhouse, cooking on a wood-burning stove if I had a stove at all, or running to the store in a covered wagon - LOL. No lights, no A/C, no running water, no microwave, computers or TV. We'd have to sew by hand most likely. Not for me but you go right ahead. Let me know how you make out.

Tina - HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I missed it. A pot of homemade veggie beef soup sounds good. I think I'll buy the stuff to make some.

Izzy - you hexi girls. If I knew you better I'd call you a hexi-ho. LOL I'm sure your hexi table topper is pretty.

Judi - glad Nolan was happy. In a couple of weeks he'll be happy again with Christmas coming.

Maryz - you are sounding relaxed. Must be nice. Sounds like you use your RV as a hotel suite. That's great - everyone has privacy.

I'm at work, of course. I'm hoping that we go to the mall tonight. I won't go there alone so I get Don to come with and then we'll eat somewhere. If he gets home from work too late to go then I'll go to the grocery store and we'll go another time. Did the wedding shower thing yesterday and this weekend we go watch my niece graduate with honors from college. She's come a long way - was anorexic and did drugs but she pulled herself out of that gutter and put herself through school while working - took her 10 years but she's finally there and I'm so proud of her. Still working on that binding on my Christmas quilt. BTW - that Christmas tote that I made and had a drawing for at Thanksgiving dinner - my DD, Sherrie, won it.

I hope we can all at least touch fabric today.

Good Morning,

Thought I would drop a few lines while I finish up my coffee, going to have to stop drinking here pretty quick an no caffeine until tomorrow after the PET scan. No chocolate, tea or sodas just plain o water! Fun day....no carbs, very few veggies allowed be glad when it is over. I go see oncologist on Fri. afternoon hopefully it will be good news.

Well we didn't get the snow like the rest of you have just a dusting but our high for the day is 21 not factoring in the wind chill so don't plan on going anywhere, in fact sitting thinking I just might start on one of the Redwork blocks that Lois my SS sent me as the instructions for this test tomorrow "no strenuous activity" today now that means a sew day right?

Sorry to hear that some of you are without power pray they get it on quickly.

Well better close for now got wash to throw in dryer and DH is up. I did get a couple nice pictures with my cell of SS gifts so will try to figure out how to put them on photo bucket then to QIAD hope I can do it want to share this cute Owl with all of you.

Suzette - those are COLD pictures.

We had a little rain. DH is not happy that the weather is suppose to be bad all week. He comes down here to FISH. I come down here to live for the winter in what is suppose to be warmer weather.

Didn't get much sewing done yesterday. Had a fun visit with Velda, looking at all our Christmas treasures from our SS. Also talked about family and travels.

Have a good day and try to stay warm.

Morning Pals from the cabin in the woods. It's very pretty here, but very dangerous. Since Friday We have 1/4" ice, topped with 12" of snow, and every night we get a little more ice on top. We have not lost power! xteacher has the snow and more ice than we do. We missed a class in St. Louis yesterday because we couldn't, wouldn't make the 3 hour trip. I hope they will send us the materials.

Meanwhile, snug as a bug in a rug, I've done some decorating and some Christmas sewing. As a teacher I loved snow days. Retired, I think I love sew days!

For those of you going out--stay safe and warm! Hugs and prayers for all.
