SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Nov 25th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 25, 2013 2:47 am

So I called my sister for her birthday yesterday. I'm sitting on my couch with Scottie 20" from my phone and he's barking at a ceramic cat on the floor. Really barking and bouncing around, growling. I don't know what he thought it was, but it doesn't even look like a real cat. Maybe that was the problem with it. But on my sister's end, she had her sheltie, "Hank the Tank" (he's full grown but smaller than our 4-mo Scottie) and he was on her lap pushing at the phone with his nose, thinking it was 'dad' calling. When dad calls, she puts it on speaker so Hank can hear his voice. So between the two shelties, we didn't get a lot of chatting done!

JO, I'm so full after reading your menu that now I don't want to even think about dinner! What will you do on Thursday now? anything special?

IRISH - sorry you didn't like my soup. Actually, it's served over a bowl of hot rice. Last time I made it, I didn't have rice, so just tossed some tube pasta into the soup itself. it was OK. Not my favorite though.

JANA - when my DD moved into their new house 13 yrs ago, they had to be out of their old house a week before they could go into their new one. so they - and all they owned, came here for the week. What a week that was!

BECCA - Brrr!!!! you made me cold reading your post! There are lots of recipes for SW Black Bean Soup. And they are all so different.

today - more of the same. I tossed the extra rice into the soup and we'll just warm it up tonite. There's just enough for two. I'm starting to try to eat down the freezer because we'll be leaving in about 5 weeks for AZ and TX. We just can't take it all with us in our tiny RV freezer. So that will be dictating our menus from now on.

What's filing your plates tonite?

Good morning from the tundra.....It was in the very low 20s when we got up and hasn't warmed up much, although the sun is shinning......

Mary, I can just imagine your interesting phone call....I wonder what's with the "cat"....
Our Kathy has been through some interesting moves and most of the time, we end up with a garage and/or basement full...Always an adventure.....

Right now, I'm waiting for my sister to pick me up...She, a girl friend, my DDIL, Cindy and I are going to her doctor's appointment..She's still having problems with a wrist that had been operated on over a year ago...It might take all of us to set the doctor on the right track!.....Of course these trips mean lunch (we tell her that's the only reason we go along).....And that also means, I'm not cooking tonight......But, there is 1 more big piece of pizza and also a nice big ham in the frig, so Jim won't starve......

Happy eating.................

Well, it is COLD..and cloudy...and that big storm from Texas is heading this way. We are on the "edge"..so it's either snow or rain...or neither! lol!

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles..and hopefully, as long as we both feel up to it, we will go. It's at Country Inn...a small mom and pop restaurant. Some of the kids are coming here for dinner of leftovers again..fine with me!
