SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Nov 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 03, 2013 2:22 am

Well, sounds like Becca is the only one doing any cooking! and it did sound tasty. But it's kind of nice to have a weekend off! And I have to say - my DH stepped up last Thurs and Fri night and made supper. So we were way off my menu plan, but I didn't care! I wasn't cooking!

Tonite, we'll be going back to the same Chinese restaurant we went to last weekend with almost the same group of friends. But I expect I'll be back behind the spatula tomorrow. Maybe THEN, I'll get out those pork chops I keep threatening to have - yet we never do.

IRISH - enjoy your last day with the kids! Their visit sounds such fun - even to me and they aren't even my family! Reading how your Kathy has had so many friends to visit, I think the next time I come home, I'll just make a party and tell Autumn to invite all her friends to our house and DH and I will be the servers and that way she can see them all even as we are seeing her! Brilliant! Don't you think?

Hope your weekend is going along sewingly! Unless you'd RATHER it be 'cookingly'.

Oh my Mary,
We would never survive here if my DH made dinner, not only one night, but two? It would not be good here, and not to mention how trashed my kitchen would be...but I think that has been his plan for 32 years now!!
I am thinking pork chops and scalloped potato or potato casserole in the oven, regular veggies and a salad. My DGD was thinking a big ol' bowl of pudding would be nice too.....so, I think that is our game plan, and if I can stick most of it in the oven, so be it!

Good morning,

I didn't have to cook last night, Stu did! He did his favorite sh....p and pasta. He was hungry when they got home from the train show. At the show he bought a complete set of Southern Pacific's Daylight coaches and engines. Really great price too. Stu says that it will live on our railroad, his can't handle the length of the cars on the curves.

Dinner tonight is still on the back burner - all depends on what happensafter church

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very, very sunny but chilly, SW. Pa.....It is indeed a gorgeous day here in the east but only reaching 50 if that.....

Mary, I like your idea of having a party and having all the "kid's" friends over...I wish I had thought of that, but then that would have meant a lot of kitchen duty...Maybe a catered party would be the way to go....

We did go to early Mass and then on to breakfast and believe me, the table was full...Our friends were treated to a family get together and then some...And we were 1/2 done and my sister and 1 of her sons walked in and the gab started all over again...We did get Kathy and Tim to the airport and now I'm depressed and that means, I won't be hungry which means, I'm not cooking.....
We do have a container of leftover Chinese (which Jim isn't too fond of), 1 left over potato pancake from breakfast (which Jim loves)and if he's really hungry, he can help himself to a grilled cheese....See, I'm not hard to get along with......

Becky, in this house, Jim is very good in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning...So hang in there, you still have a few years to get him where you want him, lol.....

Happy eating.................
