Treat or treat bags

Hi Quilting Friends, I have been away from quilting most of the summer due to my husband who has been in and out of the hospital. He is doing much better and I am finally getting back to quilting.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for a treat or treat bag for a 2 year old. I am looking for something cute, but easy. Also, do I need to use batting in the middle,if so, would fusible fleece work for the batting? Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Fusible fleece is what I would use if you plan to use batting. It's what I use in most of my bags. I would find some cute Halloween fabric and make a simple bag with a fabric handle for a young one like that. Just cut two pieces of fabric, one for the outside and one for the lining. Fuse the fleece to one of them on the wrong side, and make a handle with the fleece in it too. Put the right sides together, with the handle in place between the two layers, and sew the top and two sides, and part of the bottom. Leave enough open to turn it right side out. Sew the hole in the bottom closed. Mark a line on the corners of the bottom lining after folding them on the diagonal . Sew on the line and then turn the bag so the lining is on the inside. Sew around the top edge to secure the handles and you are done!

how about a simple tote bag with a happy pumpkin appliqued on it?

I wouldn't use batting or even a lining for a 2 yo. I made my DGS a Trick or treat bag a few yrs ago. He found a Halloween fabric he liked. I simply turned under the top edge and stitched in two straps looped over on each side. I made sure the straps were just long enough to get hie hand in but not his head. Safety factor.

He wanted "hangy-downy things on the bottom" so I added some fringe. Turned out cute, very fast and simple and he played with it later to carry his trucks and cars around in. If it is just for trick or treat, why go to all the trouble of a lining and/or batting. It is totally washable, very inespensive and you can make a new one next yr.

There used to be a pic on here but can't find it. I don't remember how to post pics anymore. Sorry. Just my two cents worth, fast, easy, and the 2 yo will still love it.
