Re: Saturday October 19,2013
Good morning all. It is foggy and chilly again this morning. DGS and DH are gearing up for DGS's soccer game this morning. Has to be there by 8:30 so they need to leave at 7:30. Sometimes I really hate living so far away from things..... Oh well, too early for me especially since I didn't go to bed until after 2 a.m. I did have to make some sausage and bacon (no eggs!) for DGS. He surely does love his breakfast meats. Just wish I could get him to eat the eggs once in a while.
Chriss, you sure brought back good memories for me this morning. My grandfather worked at Rainbow Bakery his whole life. After he died, we found a couple of boxes of pencils with the Rainbow logo on them. We were tickled to pieces. We always had those pencils for school. He would arrange tours of the bakery for our class field trips when we were in elementary school. I will always associate the smell of fresh baked bread with Papaw!
Lois, I sure hope you are able to find a way to sew comfortably.
Tess, I would love to see you Fall foliage. This is my most favorite time of the year.
Judi, I am with you...no chainsaws with rain.
Izzy, wow, four baby goats! Wouldn't that be something. Good luck!
Kathy, sounds like you had a good day yesterday. Don't do too many uglies today.
Maryz, such a cute visual of you brothers! How are they all doing, by the way?
Well, almost time to shoo the guys out the door. Can't be late for the big game!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Oh, Tina, I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family during this sad time. {{{Hugs}}}
Maryq, sounds like you are enjoying your time with your DD and precious little one! The scarves sound like a good idea for Christmas!

Good morning ladies. I've been busy lately.
Tina sorry to hear your aunt passed.
Tess apple butter sounds delicious.
Marz you accidentally started changing around your room? How does that happen? lol
Chriss enjoy your couple hours of me time.
Maryq how fun for you to have the babies over. Have a great time with your family.
My poor mother has been sick. She was in the hospital a few day from bleeding internally from her heart meds. She is finally on the mend. She's had a rough year.
Last week I helped my DIL with her chevron quilt. She's a first time sewer and of course she want to make a king sized quilt. lol At least I drafted a simple pattern for her.
Well today I'll be in the sewing room and see what I can get into.

We let the chickens out into the garden today. Put up a fence around the kale and they are very happy to be out and about. Next spring they will be sad to go back in their smaller encloser I'm sure.
I went over to the hospital and gave "mom" her breakfast. Darryl's brother is down for the day so I'm off for lunch and supper.
I'm going to go and start on the eagle, I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Good morning!
I've got 10 min. before QIAD's 35th anniversary bash starts so this will be a quick note.
First, Tina, so sorry about your aunt...hugs!
MaryQ, I made those minky scarves last year and they were a hit.
Tiring day yesterday, mam squish is done and so is doc appt. Now, to wait for results of mammo. I've never had a problem but you never know. I've been doing them for at least 26 years...mom had breast cancer and a double mastectomy. Sis and I are religious about our appts.
Not sure what's on the docket today. I'd sure like to work on some wip's and put a binding on DGD#4's quilt, DH might have other ideas or plans.
Wishing you all a productive day,
Lucie

Lucie wasnt it great. I loved looking at all those quilts. I went shopping on site too spent a bit too much but man I wanted a few of those older ones. Gotta love el and those grand babies.
DS and DIL stopped in before it started for lunch. She is collecting the nesting hens and brought new one she got at auction by to show me. I want to do a quilt with those. gonna search for pattern. May have to make my own. NOT lol.
Well got two more sbs blocks done and a lap quilt top done while watching.

Re: Saturday October 19,2013
Good afternoon - Ethan and I have been watching the 35th anniversary show with El - Ethan is now down for a nap and the show is on a break for about an hour or so. It has been fun watching all the clips and seeing all the quilts from the past years.
The kids are busy out in the front yard, hanging up the lights on the house for me. Sarah will later plant my irises and tulips that have arrived - not all are here yet - I ordered a ton of flowers - love dutch bearded irises and will be getting more.
The party last night was lots of fun and a great dinner too. My little grands seems to all want to sit with Grandma at the table - I need more than two sides!
I have a wedding gown to hem today - the wedding is in a couple of weeks - one of the girls that works for Sarah - so Sarah volunteered me to shorten the length - just need to use my rolled hem foot for it.
On Thursday last week, we had a small earthquake - up where FIL's home was that the kids all played at. Then I remembered that the 17th of October is the anniversary of the large quake in San Francisco that destroyed quite a bit of the area. I guess that the earthquakes are following me! LOL
Off to see what is happening upstairs at the lights -
Hugs

Good afternoon!
DD#2 just called in tears, her hearing aid broke. The plastic tubing that goes around her ear must've gotten brittle and snapped off. None of the hearing centers' repair service work on the weekends. She'll have to wait till Monday. She's been at her new job for two months and hates to take any time off.
She's only 36 yrs. old and don't know why she has a hearing loss. I didn't drop her on her head...no trauma. She didn't have a serious illness when she was little. I feel so bad for her. She was having a little bit of a pity party. She doesn't like it when I say it is God's plan.
Oh, it's tough being a mom...sometimes.
Don't feel like doing any sewing. It's 90 degrees and that doesn't help.
Bye for now, Lucie

HAPPY SATURDAY ONE AND ALL. I got a photo about an hour ago and Myles was sitting up In His bed playing checkers with his brother. What a difference 20 hours, potassium, sugar water, steroids and pain med. can make. But most of all the prayers and positive thoughts you, El's angels. If he keeps this up he might be able to have the other tests around Tuesday. Thank you all .
Lance Corpral Jeremiah Collins, Jr., also known as JJ was laid to rest today. Thank you for your support.
Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend.
travel safely and return often.
Prayers and positive thoughts being offered up for all those In need
I have been hearing that lots of you are getting those memos. WOOOOO HOOOOO. I am proud of you all, and those that haven't, come on now you don't want me as your worst nightmare
