Teresa - congrats to Jennifer on her promotion. That's great about the daycare.
Suz - you sure have a busy day planned. What pattern will you use to make your nephew's wedding quilt?
Jules - have a fun weekend with the girls. I'd be worn completely to a frazzle if I watched kids all weekend.
Velda - glad you had fun fishing. Do you ever catch catfish? Maybe my ultra-light fishing rig is too small because I can't imagine catching White Bass on it. Crappie are fun to catch with it though. I need that ultra-light to feel the bite. Gosh, we haven't been Crappie fishing in years. My DH has a t-shirt with the picture of a Crappie on it and it says "I have a Crappie attitude" - LOL
Kathy - I'd go back out for more lobster - yummmmmmy. I'm really hungry for shrimp. I think we'll do that tonight. For hand quilting do you have a big frame or do you use a hoop?
Judi - what bread do you make? I did make the bread in the cast iron Dutch oven. DH didn't like the crust being so hard. I'm thinking about getting a bread making machine. My BFF said that every Goodwill she's been in has them lined up on the shelves. I guess people get them and then don't use them so they give them to the Goodwill. I might go get one from there but I have issues with using used stuff to cook food in. I also have issues with going to the laundromat because I can't stand the thought of washing my clothes in with other people's pubic hairs - YIK!
Chriss - I love crab, too. There use to be a restaurant across town that served seafood family style and when crabs were in season they would bring out big bowls of crab meat already picked. So we could just poke in our fork and put a mouthful of crab in our face. Soooo good. Lobster, crab, fish......I'm hungry!
Tina - sorry about your aunt. At some point we just get too tired to fight - I guess that's where your aunt is. I hope Jaz feels good enough to enjoy the parade. My DH filets all our fish and we do eat them. I was going to say that he even filets the Crappie because we don't like the skin.
Maryz - I hope you're not hugging the porcelain chair by now - LOL.
Went to the grocery after work yesterday, fixed dinner, watched TV. Tonight after we eat out I'm going to sew and tomorrow I'm going to sew and Sunday I'm going to sew and watch the Texans get their butts handed to them on a platter - LOL. Prayers going up to all in need and for safety for those getting on the road.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Friday morning! It’s going to be another fabulous day on the prairie—sunny and lower 80s. If only we could have this year around. I guess the too hot or too miserably cold days make us appreciate the perfect days…
Today will be floors—only got them half completed yesterday, pecans—checking on the paper shells that still aren’t quite ready for picking, and a visit from Izzy and her family! It’s always exciting to meet another QIAD member. She’s leaving snow in CO and will be in 80s here—all in less than a day.
I need to get busy… Have a wonderful day! Let the thread times roll!

Good morning!
I must buckle down and do some serious sewing today. The GK's trick or treat bags need to be finished. I want to make more stuffed pumpkins...I gave DD#2 the last one I made and she loved it. I'm still working on those hexie candlemats.
Judi, forget the tea and just give me the "spiritus fermenti"! LOL
I've made a list of books I want to look for at the used book sale tomorrow. I've also made a list of books I already have...don't want to buy doubles. .25 paperback and 1.00 for hardcover, what a deal.
The weather is supposed to be warming up this weekend...83 degrees.
I haven't heard from my sis. She and her family were traveling to Dallas to say goodbye to my nephew the Airman and wish him birthday wishes. Nephew-Derek and Niece-Erica are both (bro and sis)in the Air Force and stationed at Dyess AFB and Lackland. My sis will be a basket case while Derek is in Afghanistan for 6 months. She and my DBIL live in Eugene, Oregon. I'll have to make a special effort to call and write her more often.
Well, the sewing machine is sitting right next to me and it's calling!
Have a superb weekend, stay out of trouble and in your sewing hole.
Love, Lucie

Good morning!
Teresa - I hope your cough settles down so you can get some sleep! Congrats to Jenifer on her promotion. Sure sounds like she's working for a great company.
Suzette - HB to your DH!
Jules - I know you and your nieces will have a great time this weekend. Your breakfast sounds yummy - that's what I would eat if someone would make it for me.
Velda - I'm glad you had so much fun fishing. I also love how the dogs' fur feels after they're groomed. That's strange about it posting when you just hit return. My machine is doing some strange things this morning also.
Kathy - I bet your view is beautiful. I'm glad you and your sister were able to indulge in one last lobster roll. You must have needed the rest to fall asleep while quilting!
Judi - have a great time camping. I remember your trip last year to Bonners - the pictures were amazing. That Sophia is so cute - yay that her pillowcase wasn't too scary.
Chriss - hope the wind wasn't whipping your hair around whilst you filled up with petrol. Have fun going through your treasures tonight.
Tina - I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt and grandma. I sure hope Jaz gets to feeling better soon and that it's not the flu. We got our flu jabs yesterday, as it's already making the rounds out here as well.
Maryz - don't you wonder what Scottie was thinking? That is such thrilling news about Betsy - praise God! Sounds like it's all company all the time at your house. The GOOD Washington - now that was funny! I would also have to scrape off the lobster, but I would still be smelling 'lobster juice' so I'd be better off getting a naked bun.
Karlene - your mom is such a treasure. She truly is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. So kind and full of grace. We had a blast yesterday - she told the chicken story (which always makes me laugh). I can picture you and Fred at your first meeting....!
Cindyg - I love my Cuisinart breadmaker! We got our at Costco. Yuck on the fish skins.
Miriam - have a lovely visit with Izzy!
It was nice to meet some of the women who live here - I even met our neighbors across the street, who immigrated from Latvia. I called the handyman's number that the former homeowner recommended. I was leaving him a message when he called me back! He was here yesterday and fixed the leaky cold water thing in the washroom. The first handyman I called STILL hasn't called me back! Oh well. He's going to switch out a fan today while we're up meeting with another realtor. Once the house is listed, DH said we won't have to keep running up there. That's a good thing, because we are still living in box land at the bird house (our new house). Have a great day! xoxo Sharona
Lucie - sorry I stomped on you. You better get cracking to get those ToT bags made! You're a good sister.

Re: Friday, Sept 11, 2013 ( whoops - sorry it is October)
Sitting in the hospital listening to my MIL snoring away. I got here and put cream all over her because she was itching so bad. That calmed the itch so she can sleep.
Kim and Glenn loved the quilt. We had a nice supper together and a nice chat. Emily did take some pictures of me giving it to her but I haven't even seen them yet.
I did get the Sylvia block done. I'm surprised with everything going on I've been able to get them done. I'm really liking this quilt
I talked to Lydia yesterday and forgot to ask her where she is on the Friendship Quilt. Church is at our house this Sunday so maybe it will be done and she'll bring it (I hope)
Tonight Shannon and Tia and their families are coming for supper. I can't wait
But I guess I'll have to share the babies with their Aunt Shannon. They are moving the big stuff today to Shannon's new house and they will be sleeping there tonight.
Ok well I'm off.
Have a great day,
Vicky

Re: Friday, Sept 11, 2013 ( whoops - sorry it is October)
Good morning!
I am down here at a normal time for once!
Last night was my class - I taught the Wreath/Tree Log Cabin from QIAD - new one from El - it is a great and very easy pattern to make up. I was only expecting that I had two in my class - surprise I had five! Made for a nice little check at the end of class. Now I can buy Groovy Boards for my LA - they are like pantographs -but made out of wood and are routed with the pattern that your stylist follows. One of my students told me she was the slow one in classes and that she never kept up - well last night she was the one that got it all done! She was a very happy camper! After Sarah is done working in November, I will be going down to my LQS on Mondays - the shop's come and sew day and help out - students in other classes who want to finish, but are having trouble. It will be nice to spend a couple of hours helping out.
Matt's house is on schedule to be completed by Nov 20th! That is the day the builder wants it closed. Yippee - We have been worrying about making the date by Dec 7th - that is when the cap on rate of mortgage would expire and Matt could have lost a bit of money. If the rate goes down, he gets the lower rate, but if it climbs over what the rate lock is - it stays at the lock. So glad for the earlier date.
When I got home last night, DH told me of some sad news in the Ward. One of the families that he Home Teaches, the father passed away. He was a older gentlemen and had been ill since we moved here. Home teachers are a pair of men, that are assigned to visit a couple of families in the Ward each month. They help out where needed and sometimes go more than once a month. Each family in the Ward has a set of Home Teachers and Visiting Teachers - Visiting Teachers are us women and visit the women in the Ward. It is great to have them and be one.
The sun is out shining it's fool head off! How nice! But it is cold outside - but is very pretty to look at.
We are heading off to Lowe's to get some blinds for my windows down here - I got the curtains made and now need the blinds - it gets cold when the sun goes down and I need to keep what heat I get in the basement in as much as possible.
Grandpa is chasing Ethan right now - Ethan goes upstairs - then Grandpa sends him back down to me - I then send him back to Grandpa - Ethan thinks this is great! LOL
My sewing studio just got a new name - The Batt Cave - you see - DH is calling it that - because I have "batting" here on the LA - and Sarah's and mine quilt pattern company - Two Brooms - so I guess that I will name my LA Robin - fitting I think - still thinking about that!
Well I must go - prayers and wishes for lobster!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Friday, Sept 11, 2013 ( whoops - sorry it is October)
Good afternoon from rainy, dreary, slightly chilly, SW. Pa...But tomorrow is supposed to be a purrrfect day.....
I've been lax in my posting but I have kept up with all the postings..Don't want anyone to get in trouble and me not know about it, lol.....
Not much happening in this neck of the woods....Went to a card party last night, had so much fun and of course ate too much and today feel like a slug (a fat one)....I did do some laundry and almost finished a table topper for our upcoming card party...I'm almost finished with a afghan I've been crocheting while watching the ball games...And sadly, our Pirates lost the other night but they sure gave us a season to remember.....We'll get em next year!
Jim went to visit with a friend and being that nice guy he is, suggested picking up a pizza on his way home..(just what I need)...But any time I don't have to cook, I'm happy....
Tina, you sure are having lots of sadness, aren't you? None of us know what what we'd do if we were in your aunt's place and it has to be tough, tough on her and the family...Lots of prayers, for your aunt, grandmother and the family......
Chriss, sounds like you're going to have fun going through your goodies....I'm like Tina, I'd love to go to those sales but find I'm very lazy in the morning and I don't think they'd appreciate me showing up in my PJs.....
Maryz, it is hard to believe it's been that long for Betsy, what a miracle...I'll bet it was fun, visiting with them and also watching Scottie with a new friend....I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone having so much company...Is there a sign at the end of your driveway "Bill & Mary's Welcome Inn".............
Judi, I do like your remedy for the cough especially the "spiritus fermenti".....Enjoy your camping trip and take lots of pictures...I love being able to "travel" through your photos....I have yet to bake that bread although I did get the cast iron pot...One of these days...
Karlene, it sounds like there's no holding David back with his painting....Jim used to be like that but now, if I suggest, he gives me "that look" and usually will say, nothing wrong with the way it looks....Funny about your new furry friend...We used to have the little chipmunks and they would scare the dickens out of me with their darting back and forth.....
Well, I best get the butt in gear and try to get something accomplished.....
You all have a great day...............

Re: Friday, Sept 11, 2013 ( whoops - sorry it is October)
Good afternoon everyone. Some good news, I am going to see Torrie for a little bit tonite. Yesterday they took two drains out so she only has two more. Oncologist said today that she has one grade 1 or 2 b node so they want a pet scan before they make any more decisions on the next step. Yesterday she made sweet potato biscuits, thank you lord.
Myles is still on the down side but we are doing the best we can. Sure would be nice if Medicaid would also. Okay no political stuff for me.
Headed to my favorite quilt shop tomorrow by hook or by crook. I need pink block material, and I am way to far behind.
Hope everyone has a wonderful evening
Prayers and positive thoughts to all in need

PINK. OH YESH YOU KNOW THE DRILL!!!!!!
