SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Oct 8th
October is really rolling along, isn't it! Hope the weather stays tolerable. When you have a puppy, you are outside a LOT!
BECCA - what a great friend you are to take so many wonderful, comforting things to your sick pal. Best wishes for her! Loved your story about your little ones. guess it does take some adjustment for the older ones!
CAROL - my friend, who lives full time in an RV, found a crockpot recipe site on Pinterest. She spent 2 days preparing all the ingredients for a month of crockpot meals. then when it was time to pack the all into the freezer, they wouldn't fit! We were parked in our RV next to them, so she put the overflow into ours for a few weeks. now keep in mind, these are RV freezers - which are about the size of a breadbox. They were eating crockpot meals fast and furious for a while! but oh, I do love a simple crock pot meal!
JO - Love it! The Pringle Mingle. You have such a fun fami1y! I wanna come mingle with the Pringles, too! So, gotta ask - does anyone bring the Pringles? (you know, the potato chips in the tube?)
IRISH - have a fun shopping day. Your be the purrbabies' best friend when you get home.
Today - more uglies and the Washday Watusi. But I'm getting this place whipped into shape. DH has DD#1's Christmas quilt on the frame but it's slow going. He is very methodical and exact - which turns out a good quilt. But he drives me crazy, taking 3 weeks to do something I could do - albeit less skillfully - in 2 days! So I'll take an old cold 'tater and wait, I guess.
I've been stumped for supper tonite. I dont' want anything with leftovers because company will be here soon (Thurs, not Wed, like I thought). And we'll be having a big pork loin supper then. So, BECCA - I'm going to try your black beans over rice. Only DH wants some sliced kielbasa in it as well as onions - and a few red pepper flakes. We kind of had this last week - only it was chili over boiled potatoes. I'm going to add a salad to the menu and we'll be set to eat.
Bon Appetit`!

Oh gosh...we had to take me to the Dr. this am, so we ate lunch at Mama's...but I don't have a clue about dinner.
So I may leave it up to Earl...we could have some chicken breasts and fried rice with vegetables...or peanut butter and jelly...or soup...or Mama's! lol!
Nope Mary...no one brings Pringle's! lol! The fun person is Sheila..Earl's nephew's wife. She's a sweety. Last year was our first year that we were invited to the cookout. It was too funny..we were all sitting around the fire talking..and different ones kept saying "huh???" I didn't hear that...I finally just cracked up and said we reminded me of old people in a nursing home!

Good Evening All....a nice and warm day today.....but it looks like we have nasty weather approaching.....temps dropping like a stone.....high winds and rain.....yak.....hope one big mistake has been made......
Maryz...I have lots of space in the freezers now.....so have started to make a list of the recipes that will suit us.....and will double up and freeze.....I keep thinking of the extra time to spend in the sewing room.....well.....have to tidy it first.....how I sometimes wish.....but only sometimes.....I had the same tidy genes my Cindy has....but alas..... methinks they missed me and went straight to her.....however....I do my best work when I'm in a mucking fuddle......
Tomorrow we have the Water Co. and the Enviromental people coming down....remember our "bathroom odour"....it never went away....we did everything including smoke bombs to prove it was"nt on our property....well...a lot of other people have now complained....strange how it was denied by the very neighbours who are now complaining(or is that just me thinking naughty thoughts) and wouldn't you just know it....Sir has an hospital appointment for his eyes....but never fear....I'm all there with me cough drops.....and me rescue remedy......
nearly forgot.....todays menu....Shepherds Pie....Carrots and Peas...and for afters....Jammy Doughnuts......

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Oct 8th
Good afternoon -
I still have some time for dinner tonight - it is Activity Girls this afternoon - so that usually means dinner out - a Joanne! But alas I could not watch the live webinar this morning for the block of the month with El - so that starts at 7:30 tonight - my time - so we will have "mac & chesse" in marinara over polenta - that way I can stay home and watch it. The live feed just would not work on my tablet today.
Joanne - Happy Anniversary! I am way late with that - hope that it was fun!
Mary - I had a very small freezer that I used for many years - it was only 4 cubic feet - but it worked as a supplement - now I have my big new one - 22+ cubic feet! Love it!
Carole - oh how hard it is to troubleshoot - especially when it comes and goes - sure hope that the city has better luck and finally finds it. I am learning to love crockpot recipes - just don't have a FB account - FB has too many breeches of security for things at this house.
Well I am off - still need to make another batch of frosting. Put a good one over in sew-ins a minute ago. Easy-peasy!
Enjoy

Tonight is leftover chicken, potatoes with freshly made salad and a vegetable. Easy night, especially after a nice day with my sewing group.
