Good morning Pals
I am Back!!! Been a whirlwind of a trip to AZ for the Baby Shower. They loved the Cradle and the Quilt. Will post pictures but I need to find the cable to get them off the phone.
We also visited 35th Ave Sew N Vac store. They had a 30% off End of Summer Sale. Perfect timing to pick up a gallon of Un-Scented Best Press, some Stunning Fall Fabrics and a few Spools of King Tut Thread. The cones weren't on sale but I did pick up 2 cones of Omni Thread because it was the only type that had the colors I needed and came highly recommended from a fellow LAmer who was also shopping. Delightful conversation with her and wish I could have had more time but needed to get back to the house by 3pm.
I will be so glad to be back in my own bed tonight after I catch up on some shows that were taped. I love watching Tristan with Valerie dancing to the Song, Carry On on DWTS. Such Heart.

Today will be quilting, piecing more of the Braid Blocks, Uglies and trying to catch up on all the past happenings. Please let me know if I need to know something really important that I might miss.

The question of the day is ... who will be watching the new series "Once Upon a Time in Neverland"

HUGE HUGS and PRAYERS for all. I did think of you while I was shopping :) :)

Good morning Teresa and those that follow.
Boy did our weather change overnight! I looked at the thermostat for my studio and it was 59 degrees in there this morning. I had forgotten to turn off the AC in there yesterday. So, I ran out and turned it off and turned on the heat on low. Work was very busy yesterday. It is open season for health insurance so we had that meeting and lots of parts to check in. So no sewing got done. Today I have work and will go out to my studio afterwards. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Teresa - sounds like you had a wonderful trip to the sewing machine place.

Good morning!

I'm watching Drew today. He'll be 1 yr.old next week and just started crawling, it's fun to watch. Oh no! He's mobile!

Yes, Teresa, please post your pic's.

Our weather is finally cooling off.

Looking forward to a used book sidewalk sale this coming Sat. prices start at .25 to 1.00 ...popular authors too. I might be able to sneak in either breakfast or lunch while we're out.

Don't think I'll get much sewing done today, Drew has other ideas.

Lot's of fun,

Lucie

Good morning.. it's going to be another wonderful day.. I have been sleeping with the window open and loving it...

just heard the craziest thing on the news.. the Fed. Pen. near us says the guards aren't getting paid but the prisioners are...now do you suppose that when this is all over the gov. workers will get back pay?

Izzy, hope you find warm clothes.. the thrift stores should be loaded with them..

Maryq.. prayers for uncle Dan... we had machines in the post office but they were vandalized so often they took the machines out....stupid vandalizers.

Maryz.. Mar understood what was taught.. and I had told her all those things also.. the real thing she learned is to wait till marriage.. guess I didn't add that in my talk.. what a lesson for me...enjoy your company..

Scrappy Pat..are you using a specific pattern for your therapy quilt? what colors.. be sure to let us know when you get your appointment...

Karlene.. wow, a baby shower.. things are moving right along aren't they..glad your sewing room will get put back together.. are you changing anything? Jerry wants to re-do my shelving and I am thinking of taking the chair and little table out of my room and making that area for ironing and more shelves... I have too many books and need a place for everything...let me know how yours turns out.

Jules.. I stole part of your talk where you said not to give away pieces of your heart... used it last night.. I was talking to Jerry and told him about it but Miss big ears was right there... happy cushion making.. I picture Charley with so many fun ideas in her head on how she wants her new house to be decorated.. bet she's all smiles.

Kathy, happy baby sitting... sorry about using so many needles.. are they breaking or just not staying sharp?

Chickie.. Mar has moments where she think's I'm getting smarter.. but usually "things are different now grandma" such a brat...lol...Jerry loves pecan's and makes pecan pie.. our tree hasn't produced yet but we did get about 4 walnuts this year.. seems to take nut trees a while to mature...

Mel, what a win win situation.. DGS gets to spend time with DH and DH gets help digging a pit.. fun for both of them.. sorry you're in a funk, hope you figure out what to take for your retreat...if you're in Secret Santa swap you could make a table runner...

Jana.. a neat thing the girls did was make cookie dough, they didn't have anyplace to cook the dough so they mixed it up four girls to a bowl then divided the dough in quarters and put them in pretty jars with the recipe tied around the lid in a scroll so each could take home and make the cookies... and a decorating thing that was neat was opened umbrellas hanging by the handle from the rafters.. then decorations hanging from them.. very cute.

Sherry, hope Pepper is better soon.

Teresa, glad you had a great trip... I am not sure who I like best on DWTS.. we won't be watching upon a time.. there are so many things we don't watch anymore.

Suzette, I also get to check on health insurance for my grandma...seems the county isn't doing health insurance for retirees or spouses anymore.. grrr..hope you're doing well...are you unhappy with WHO got kicked off DWTS or because you knew before you watched the show?

Lois.. how long till you can hop on that foot? thankfully you have those hexi's to pass time.. I keep a few in my jeep to use if I ever have any down time...

Judi, glad the BC quilts are going so well... happy swim test...

and now I need to make some lunch and breakfast.. you all have a great day

Good Morning Girls

Another beautiful fall day. The sun is just coming up and the sky is beautiful shade of "sky blue pink" this morning.

A big thank you to the "hand of the picker" for the Sept. Lotto Blocks. They arrived yesterday and are gorgeous. Yesterday I was thinking about making my Uncle Dan a comfort quilt and was going to look through my stash to see what I could find to whip up something for him.... then the blocks arrived in perfect timing and perfect colors! I thought of something small, but remembered he's 6'3" so it may have to be a little bigger. Now to find the time to sneak in a little sewing! Oh wait... I'm on vacation next week! YIPEE. Well I'll find some sewing time when baby is sleeping maybe.

Suzette... sounds like Minnesota... AC one day Furnace the next! Sure have been a lot of ads on TV up here about health insurance! Glad I don't have to worry about that for a few more years,... I wonder if they are trying to tell me something tho, I'm getting all sorts of stuff in the mail about Medicare!

Teresa... that was a whirlwind trip to AZ! Love "best press" but gosh it's pricey! I saw a recipe once to make your own using Vodka. Hate to waste Vodka like that tho! Not sure I want to spray Vodka on my fabric either. Don't know if I'll be watching the new TV show or not, seems I don't get much time for TV lately, but I never miss "Castle".

Lucie.. your Drew is almost a year old already! Have you watched all the Miss. Quilt Co Tutorials yet?

Judi... An envelope of BC blocks are ready to mail! Hope they achies subside for you as time goes on!

Guess I better fly... time to hit the shower! 4 MORE DAYS of work! YIPPEE

Good morning!

Teresa - there's no place like home! A cradle and a quilt - what a great gift.

Suzette - brrr! Hope you get some sewing in today.

Lois - happy phone gabbing to you today. Hope your foot is able to come out and play soon.

Lucie - have a great time with Drew. That is such a cute age.

Judi - I sure hope you don't have to chip the ice of the loo some morning. I was able to buy a new mattress warmer - I just turn it up to 10 when it's really cold. While trying to learn the new house, I had set the heat down WAY too low - it was like we were camping it was so cold in the house. Your camping trip sounds like a great way to close out the season. Good luck to Nolan and HB to your DGD.

Chriss - amazing what little ears will hear. Whatever are you going to do with all those walnuts? Good luck navigating the insurance system.

Maryq - prayers are going up for your Uncle Dan. Perfect timing on those lotto blocks.

We're headed back to the old house to meet with a realtor to get it on the market. Before that, it's a trip to Costco and then off to get a flu shot. Have a wonderful day! xoxo Sharona
