SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Oct 3

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 03, 2013 4:50 am

Good Morning!

We have friends from Colorado arriving soon - we think. They have never given us a date - just said "Sept". then finally on Sept 29th they cancelled the trip. On Oct 1 we hear the trip is back on! Still no dates. Have no idea how long they plan to stay even though I've asked 3 times. They will be in their motorhome but I'll still be doing a lot of cooking as she has Alzheimers and can't cook a meal any longer, and he hates cooking. But I sure would like to know ahead of time so I can plan. I have a list of meals I can make, but need to do some shopping to have things on hand. The confusion is that HE is doing the planning rather than she due to her illness. I the past she has always planned all their travels right down to the minute.

LYN - I feel so bad for you! Have you tried soaking your fabrics in a vinegar solution? I've been told vinegar can remove stubborn odors. Also, dry cleaners have solutions that remove odors. I got them for smoke odors when our house burned. Prayers for you, my dear!

BECCA - you have the right to refuse any treatment or test if you want. I choose to get XR's every 2 yrs, but I can't imagine my dentist ever telling me he wouldn't treat me if I refused them. Might be time to take his advice and find a new dentist. (remember, they make a lot of $$ XR's. My DDIL went through a long round of fillings, crowns, and 2 root canals only to be told by another dentist later that he could tell nothing had been wrong with her teeth.)

Well, it's suppertime now! There's enough soup left for another supper. And a salad makes is just right. But if DH eats the soup for lunch, then I guess we'll be moving on to homemade pizza.

Bon Appetit`, everyone!

Thanks Mary, but I gave up and it went in the dumpster yesterday.

I think we will have chili for supper tonight, since it is suppose to SNOW tonight and tomorrow. I will make a double batch, so we can eat leftovers tomorrow.

Do hope things are looking up for you LYN. Sure would hate to throw out fabric but I sure would not want odors due to allergies.

I was quite taken by the way the Dentist did.I will find a new one.I love the Hygenist but not him.!!!

Soup sounds great if I can be home long enough to make it.This morn was errands, shots, groceries, all the fun things.

It will be ham,Green beans,salad,& apples......Becca

Good early afternoon from warm, semi sunny, SW. Pa....

Becca is right about the warm weather, almost too warm for Oct...I just keep thinking if we could just bottle some of this for Jan...BUT, why should I worry, I just made my reservations for Florida......

Mary, If and when I get a chance to come your way, I'll give you plenty of notice, lol..I didn't know or maybe I missed it, but when did you have a fire? That has to be so scary.....

Lyn, And just thinking of what you are going through makes my heart hurt...I just can't imagine..Prayers for you my dear.....

Jim has gone to help with the elderly bingo and it's so nice and quiet, just the hum of the dryer, lol....As far as dinner, it has to be quick and easy....Tonight is the start of very, very important games and we have to be in front of the TV at 5:00, sharp! So, I've thrown everything in the crock pot and we'll call it stew.....There's still store bought cookies and ice cream if we need afters.....My tummy is getting nervous already......

Happy eating.............

GO PIRATES!
