Re: Wednesday October 2
Good morning! Today we are going in to town to work on the sewer at one of the rentals. Actually, DH will be doing the sewer work, and I will be handing tools and going for supplies if needed. When we come back… more pecan picking. Yesterday we got 20 gallons—many of them in the hulls. We de-hulled the ones that popped out and will take care of the rest later. We will still have to crack the nuts and pick out the nutmeats—so much work for so little reward! The paper shell nuts aren’t ready yet, but we have to keep a close eye on them to beat the jays and crows. I got no sewing accomplished yesterday.
Chriss—for some reason Odie and Tinker Bell have decided cats are to chase. Odie and Boney Maroney used to curl up together and were good friends, but I guess Tinker Bell has taught him differently. There are two outdoor cats at our grandson’s where the trees are (at the old home site), and they love going and chasing them up the trees. I do think there are fewer squirrels around there. A lot of the trees are out in the open in the fence row around the hay meadow—prime pickin’s for the birds! Congratulations on the almonds! Wish we could grow them here.
Kathy—I envy you getting to take care of a baby.
Vicky—you are ahead of me with your grands… I am at 9… seven came with my DH, and two with me.
Lucie—great to hear from you! Keep popping in and keep in touch! I bought a wool pincushion with a chicken on it kit at a quilt show. I am looking forward to making it this winter.
Now, I really must get crackin’ here (no, not the pecans… myself) and get ready to go help DH with the plumbing. This is definitely not a fun job—especially for him!
Have a great day, All, and let the thread times roll!

Re: Wednesday October 2
Suz - have a look around for me at your LQS. I'd love to be doing that today rather then being here at work.
RoseBud - you are so sweet and really good with words.
Lois - I'm so glad your day out yesterday was nice. You hexie girls!
Chrissy1 - prayers sent up for Torrie and Myles.
Velda - get your lazy butt parked in front of that sewing machine!! LOL I'm just jealous because I don't get my lazy day until the weekend.
Kathy - glad you had fun with the baby. 7 lbs. at 6 weeks old - my youngest DD was 8 lbs. 6 oz. at birth - LOL.
Judi - what a great picture you created of y'all sitting on the porch relaxing while the Applefest is going on. So autumn-ish.
Chriss - and the commercials for Victoria's secret - holy cow - I never acted that sexy on my best day - LOL. There's a drama queen in my office. I'm the only female here and it's not me. He's also mean and ugly but tries to cover it up by being a comedian while he's being ugly. UGH!
Vicky - your new grandson looked so sweet. I'd like to see his face. And Jovanna - what a beautiful child she is.
Lucie - your advice is so good - keep the priorities straight. I sure need to remember to do that myself. How lovely that your family appreciates hand made things.
Guild was good last. I'm glad I went even though I really really really wanted to stay home. After work today I will go home and do the same old same old.....dinner, laundry, and hopefully get to sew.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Re: Wednesday October 2
Good Morning,
Did everyone remember to enter this month's drawing??
SHIRLEY MAE - prayers for you and Rod as you dodge this latest curve ball. God has been guiding you for many years. He won't let you down now.
SUZ - oooh, a trip to your LQS to see new fabrics. It's good to be you today!! Our LQS closed down and is supposed to reopen under new ownership, but I haven't seen or heard anything about it yet. Looks dark to me. Last night our news talked of a study taking place in your area for a breast cancer vaccine and they are gathering 1,000 women by the end of the year. Is this the study you are in?
MARY ROSE - I assume you're headed off to work. Hope you have a good day!
CHRISSY - prayers for your sister and for Myles. How is your husband doing?
LOIS - I bet it felt like you'd gotten out of prison, going shopping yesterday! Did you find anything fun to buy?
VELDA - laze away, girl! Are you all set to up anchor and head south?
KATHY - I didn't realize your "babysittee" was so tiny! How fun that must have been!!
JUDI - I got tired just reading your plans for the day! It must have killed you having to lay low after your surgery! Your front porch sounds so homey! I'd sure like to stop by! I'd even bring my own hexies!
CHRISS - DH and I often joke about the "ball gowns" on DWTS! Well, I joke. He just looks closer to see what I'm talking about! lol!! Then I hear my mom's voice in my head, coming out of my mouth as she talked about how skimpy ice skating costumes had gotten!
VICKY - 13!! You are so lucky! The picture of little "T.J." is so sweet! Bet you can't hardly keep your hands off him!
LUCIE - so good to "see" you! I've been wondering how you were doing. I love making/giving handmade gifts. Also, I bought a wool applique kit. My DDIL loves it! I thought I'd give it a try. I went to thrift shops looking for wool clothes to cut up after I saw the price of wool in the stores! Sue Spardo has some beautiful designs!
CHICKIE - so sorry I missed Timi's birthday. I did't get her card out in time! Doyal always seems to have some kind of fun entertainment lined up for you! I still have pecans I picked up at Eulalia Lake Corps of Engineers park last fall. Keep meaning to plant them. Maybe I don't want to. Not sure I want to spend my evenings shelling nuts! lol!
CINDY - sorry you are at work today. But as the hours at your desk pass, just think of your pay not in dollars, but in yards - as in yards of fabric! Or in Featherweights if you prefer . . .
Looks to be another rainy day here. It poured all night. We had coyotes in our front woods last night, howling. I was so afraid that Scottie would whine to go out. I didn't want the coyotes to get him, and he's so black it's hard to keep track of him in the dark.
Today the last of the three Christmas quilts for my kids is slated to go on the frame! YAY!! This one is embroidered redwork blocks. I know how we want to quilt it, but now DH needs to look up patterns and program it. That process can take him days! So I"m not excited yet.
Hope we all get a little cotton therapy today!

Good Morning Girls
Just about to fly out the door for work. Oh how I would love to stay home today. Can I call in sick? Sick of working?
Wanted to stop by and wish you all a wonderful day and send all my good thoughts and prayers for all, especially for Rod and Shirleymae!

Re: Wednesday October 2
Morning....I've been to Charleys this morning, trying to sort some bits out and start cleaning......it is filthy over there, I can believe they didn't even wipe a cloth over the counters!!!! Anyway I will be back there again tomorrow waiting for her new sofa to arrive and will try and do a bit more cleaning.....its a very slow job right now as my breathing (or lack of it LOL) slows me down a fair bit, but she isn't moving in fully and properly for 4 weeks so it will be done by then
I came home and showered as I felt soooo grubby and am just having an omelette for lunch, then I plan on making a bolognese sauce for dinner later and I think after all that I will sit down with my feet up and read a book.....I'm knackered!!!!!
Love to you all, especially for all those with illnesses, seems to be a lot of cancer prayers needed now......will try and pop back later, if I don't fall asleep xxxx

MaryZ - that is a different study. The one I am participating in is called the PINC study. They are looking at a drug normally used for Maleria and if it will shrink the cancer cells. We will see.

Good morning!
It is early down here - Ethan and Grandpa are both here too - one is playing with the phone and Ethan is watching Elmo videos - that is his favorite new word - Elmo!
It will be quiet here - the fence is done and paid for, the grass is done and my LA is done! Good week - now to play!
I got some fabric from one of my other favorite LQS's - it is just a block from FIL's home - now you can see how much trouble I can get in when DH goes and visits his Dad! LOL They have a fun selection of fabrics - different from the one by my house which makes it very nice!
We are making a run to Lowe's in a little while - need to get some of the short picket fence - we are using it as a baby gate to keep all the boys out of the work area of the layout. Too many tools and stuff to get hurt on - so the fence will keep them out. I like that idea as Ethan loves to get into everything! The two openings into the RR is about 8 foot each - two sections will do.
Well need to scoot - prayers for all!
Hugs

Re: Wednesday October 2
Good afternoon from warm, now sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa...Some of our trees are starting to change into their Fall finery and it's going to be something to see....
I haven't really accomplished very much so far today...I had a meeting with the organist at church about the weekend wedding and hopefully this will go off much better than last....We spent about 1/2 an hour going over the wedding and then an hour talking about our cats/kittens....Jim just left for a funeral home visit and then he said he might stop and visit with another friend.....
Chriss, I sure hope the neighbor's cat is living in someone else's home...It just upsets me that they don't seem to care...Jim went looking again this morning.....Boy, you're right about some of the commercials on TV...And you know, it's not only TV but some of the ads that come to the house....Not long ago, I got a flyer from Sears and on the front were females advertising bras/panties...The thing that really bothered me was the way they stood, the look on their faces, in general, they all looked like advertising hookers....I got on their web site and complained and they wrote and told me, that's how they sell....Guess who doesn't shop at Sears????I don't think I'm an old fuddy duddy but I don't think it needs to be flaunted....OK, I'm done....
Maryz, you know some of us are still waiting to see Autumn's quilt...Some of us aren't on facebook and are feeling left out....1st you have a limb come down and now you have coyotes! I'd be inside holding Scottie with the doors locked.....
Kathy, wow, that is a little one...I'll bet you had so much fun...Like Cindy, mine were all huge when they were born...Not sure I'd know how to handle a little one, but I'd love to have the chance....
And if you haven't heard, our Pirates won last night and it was wonderful....I really think Pittsburgh has the best fans, these people are really into it....We've waiting many years for a playoff....
Well, if I'm going to get anything done, I'd better get the butt in gear.....
You all have a great day.................

IRISH - your wish is my command. Photos are up! Actually, I've been trying to post photos for days and Photobucket and I have been at loggerheads over it. But DH finally got it for me. He's also the one who posts any photos anyone ever sees on FB. (of us - not the whole world! lol!) I haven't figured that out yet. And either I'm too busy or too lazy to learn. I suspect the later, but profess the former.

Hi,
I've been busy sewing, got 2 packages ready to be mailed, booked my flight to Austin for Thanksgiving, & started a sauce with chicken. Now a little cutting for my SS's topper..
I had big babies too 8/8 & 9/14. My 2ed was 3 weeks late. It was work pushing her out...(:
Maryz.....lovely quilt. I'm open to adoption.....have I said that before?
Off to cut...Kathy
