Cravings
This a probably a 'reminisce' question for most of us, but with my oldest DD going through her first pregnancy, we've talked a lot about what food she is craving. Her most consistent craving has been for lobster (and I don't think she's had it even once since it is so pricey) with many other smaller cravings hitting daily or weekly.
When I was pregnant with her, I craved prime rib. I think I had it 2 times through the pregnancy, and our less expensive version of it was a roast beef sandwich. When I tried to narrow it down to what was it in the prime rib that I wanted, it was salty beef.
With my second pregnancy, I really didn't have a craving that lasted through the whole pregnancy, but there was a time that I craved oranges - and it just so happened that the store had a BOGO free on a 5 lb bag, so I went through 2 bags of oranges in 2 days and broke out in hives on the tops of my feet! Oh, they sure tasted good!
How about you?

Every time, Mexican food and hot sauce. Now, my dd is craving the same thing! She eats taco bell or Mexican restaurant take out 5 nights a week. Also she's craving sweets, and she's never liked sweets that much! This baby is due in 21 days! Finally! I can hardly wait to meet this new little personality.

Re: Cravings
That's funny, because with my first it was lobster! However, the lobster had other ideas....the day it was confirmed by my doctor that I was pregnant I ate a lobster dinner, only to get home from the restaurant just in time to lose it! I tried once more during the pregnancy, but my body just said "no".
My second child it was baked potatoes. I ate a zillion of them!
My third it was lemons. I ate a lot if lemon salads or just lemons with salt. My daughter, who I was carrying, loves lemons too!

Re: Cravings
With my first, it was watermelon, but not a real craving. I just loved it and wanted a lot of it for maybe a day. But with my second pregnancy - my only son - I HAD TO HAVE tomato juice! I didn't even like tomato juice then! I sent my hubby to the store and he came back with a little 6 oz. can. I downed it before he even got in the door! He went back for a 12 oz can. That lasted about 3 min. He turned around and went back for a big 46 oz can and I drank half of it on the spot and never touched it again for years. That craving came and went that fast!
Conversely, homemade chocolate chip cookies made me so sick that I couldn't eat them at all until 2 yrs after my last pregnancy. And I love them! But I could eat the dry, tasteless storebought kind.

I could not stand the smell/thought of chicken! It gagged me. And I have always eaten chicken -except when I was pregnant!

Re: Cravings
Wit my first it was Hershey's Chocolate Bars. I had then hidden everywhere. Growing up in ME we always ate seafood but during that time I would get ill every time I tried something from the ocean,in fact I had my first fried clam in over 40 years this past Aug. With my second pregnancy, twins, I craved Cheez-its. Still love them.
