SUPPER CLUB - Mon, Sept 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Sep 16, 2013 4:12 am

Hi, all,

Pretty quiet weekend around here, food-wise. You all must be starving! Seems all I did this weekend was eat. As a result, we have dibs and dabs of all kinds of leftovers - scalloped potatoes, soup, chix, salad, apple crisp, and more. So I think it will be an open galley tonite!

Scottie is really doing well! he's learning so much already. And he only has to get up once during the night. He does better than I do!! While I'm sure he'll eventually end up sharing our bed, for now, DH is training him to sleep in his crate, which he seems content with. He is so cute!! And so much fun.

anyway, enough baby-talk. How's things coming in your kitchen?

Good morning, y'all!

I think that I will cook tonight - we cleaned out the leftovers - so time to make new! LOL I have some chicken, most likely will bake with my parmesan coating and add some zucchini and tomatoes - sliced with miracle whip on them for Michael. He loves them, so while they are in - he gets them - me - I won't touch them - on my plate they are banned! LOL I will cook with tomatoes all the time, just not fresh.

Tonight after dinner will be a BD party for my Logan - he turned 5 the other day and it is cake and ice cream at his house. He is my little one in speech therapy and doing very well.

Enjoy your feasts!

I bought a flatiron steak the other day and have marinated it overnight. I'm not sure how to proceed, but I think just my indoor grill and not overcooking it.
What to have with it? Garlic bread, a salad and maybe a baked potato or scalloped potatoes! I love them but can't stop eating them until they're gone! Today, overcast and cool, would be a good day to use the oven.

Overcast and mild today...nice! The Bengals play the Pirates tonight on Monday Night Football..but we will watch Dancing with the Stars..Also, the Reds play the Astros tonight, too. A busy bunch!

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles...at Mama's Grill! Nice and close. Yesterday I made Irish Dorothy's Banana Bars with Frosting...oh my!!! They are AWESOME. I generally don't really like banana bread because it's too "wet"..and dense. But not these bars!!! Dorothy they are wonderful! Earl is eating them like crazy! I did cut the cream cheese in half...Earl doesn't like it..and he doesn't seem to notice that little bit. I only made half the recipe of frosting and it's perfect for us.

Good late afternoon from sunny, but cool, SW. Pa....

Mary, Scottie sounds like he's doing very well....Could it be he's waiting until he's firmly engraved on your heart to start with the antics? lol.....But, he sure does sound like a bundle of love....

Boy am I late today but I have a very, very good excuse and it's all my sister's fault! She had another appointment with her wrist doc and of course I had to go with her....After she was done, we HAD to go to our favorite Chinese buffet and there we sat for close to 2 hours.....

And now, as far as dinner, guess who's going out??? Ye[, tonight is a Lioness dinner and that means no cooking, again.....But, not to worry about Jim...He had left over pizza for lunch and there is a little chicken pot pie left over for dinner....But, there's no goodies so, he'll have to have graham crackers and ice cream......

All this eating out has made me very sleepy and I'm hoping for a "power nap" before it's time to go again....

Happy eating...............
