Mel - if I took a little snooze after I get home from work I'd never be able to go to sleep when it is time to go to sleep. Aren't those needle threaders just the berries?

Vicky - some evenings we just need to do nothing. Have fun with your girls today.

MaryRosebud - this woman sounds like my DD. She thinks that rules are good as long as she doesn't have to live by them. The more help we gave her, the more she expected. Now we just say "no". Good luck with your discussion with her tonight.

Jules - that channel sounds like our Hallmark channel. They have some nice movies and there is no profanity or sex. I love that channel. Sorry you aren't feeling well.

Suz - gosh, what a morning you will have. I pray all goes well for you. I know what you mean about the child support and I'm glad you are going after it.

Chriss - is it possible that you can have different shades of the same color in those rooms? That would make it less boring. Not that you house is boring - I've never seen it - LOL. But you know what I mean. Our kitchen, pantry hall, laundry room and family room share the same ceiling but we can split up the wall colors from room to room.

Velda - I'm glad your RV appointment worked out so well for you. I'm wondering where 'quality control' is for these RV's. Our is also in for minor things which should never have left the manufacturer's like that. Grrrrrr. You would think that when someone installs electrical plugs that he would check it to see if it works before moving on to the next thing.

I'm at work. Last night I ignored the laundry and, after dinner, I went to my sewing hole for a while and then worked on my hand applique for a while. I didn't watch the football game to the end because it didn't even come on until 9:30 our time. But we had a come-back win - GO TEXANS! Anyway, tonight I must do laundry and I'll keep plugging away on the Dresden Plate quilt. It's so close to being done.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning Girls

Well, it's Tuesday, which means I "get" to go back to work today. Had a wonderful day off yesterday.... stayed in the house ALL DAY, didn't even venture out to the mail box! Got McKenzie's quilt DONE, except for the binding, which I started last night--Getting that thing quilted was all day project. But I did manage to finish the laundry in between so it was all good. Even snuck in a little nap!

Chriss... are you sure Jerry wouldn't like to come up and help me paint? I could keep him busy for quite a while! When I stopped at Walmart the other nite I picked up some swatches for my bedroom. Now I'm just waiting for the mood to strike me so I can DO IT. I have a wallpaper border around the ceiling that I have to take off first. I'm leaning towards an off white and I think it's going to take 2 coats to cover the dark blue it is now! YUK! Last time I painted (2001) the room was empty so it was easy, now I'll have to move furniture and paint a little at a time!

Judi.... will be thinking of you tomorrow, with prayers coming your way for a smooth surgery and that you'll be home in no time. I had mine on a Thursday and was home on Saturday! The gave me a PCA with morphine.. I think I used it twice! No pain when I get home either, except for that gas that they put in!

Vicky.... sounds like you have tomatoes coming out your ears! Come January you will be happy to have spent all this time canning! Next summer, I'm definitely planting tomatoes again.. sure miss have good home grown tomatoes!

Chrissy.... Great to hear the news that Heather is home! I pray she continues to improve! Congrats to MO too!!

Rosebud.. how good of you to open your home, but I pray that she will make wise decisions and get her "stuff" together and be ready to move on and take care of herself. I had my nephew with me for a few years, and I finally had to ask him to move on... it just made things too easy for him and he didn't take responsibility for himself. Best thing I ever did for him I think, because now he has joined the Navy and doing GREAT!

Velda....are you as sick of the heat as I am??? I'm itching to get outside and do some work in the yard, haven't mowed in weeks and I need to trim some shrubs--too dang hot! How do you make your pillow cases? Aren't the fun?

Chickie... Oh yes those Grand babies sure do grow up fast! I sometimes forget I have GRANDCHILDREN and want to call them my niece or nephew! Hope you keep cool today, it's supposed to be warm here today, but it's terribly muggy and sticky!

Lori.... Five days off? YIPEE!

Mel, I have seen those needle threaders, do they really work? You should see me try to thread a needle!!! LOL. I remember laughing at my Mom watching her try to thread a needle, now here I am with the same problem! I learned a little trick here, to run a fabric softener sheet over the thread... it really works to keep the thread from getting twisted and knotted up!

Cindyg.... Unfortunately I won't get fondle fabric today, but it's on my TO DO for the weekend. I figure one day for chores, one day for sewing!

Well, girls, I better get going... need to package up some stuff to send to Jen this morning and stop by the PO. When I get to work I have to check the schedule to see if I can put in for vacation in October. My babies are coming home From Alaska!!! Can't wait to get my hands on baby Elijah!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

Good morning :o)
I'll be on my own all day till almost bedtime tonight, DH has a class out of town that the City is paying for and it gets him his hours he needs every year :o) I'm thinking I might just get me something in town for supper and bring it home......what will it be? hmmmmmm.
You RV gals, my brother is a tech and let me tell you, he gets very frustrated at what gets left undone at the factories! I hope your repairs get done quick and right.
MaryR, yep rules need to be followed, makes for easier on everyone then, good luck tonight.
Maryz, I saw that Valerie suggested Scrappy for a name :o) I like that one! He does look like he's put together with scraps with his coloring ;o)
My Internet has been off and on but right now we have a break in the storm so I'm on reading and typing as fast as I can. We are supposed to get 3.69" of rain by tomorrow night....a good start on getting us a little bit out of our drought the weatherman said :o) it has been really nice except for losing Internet and power popping on and off. We are supposed to be under 80* the next few days and the high for a week after is low 80's....I can get used to this LOL really feels like Fall is here :o) Loving it! Well I need to check my email....probably too many to do anything with but need to scan through and see if I have anything good there :o) I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Just popping in while I have a few minutes to see what's been going on. I am leaving Colorado today and heading back home to Maine. I'm just getting used to the altitude here, and now I'll be back at sea level. The hikes were challenging with the thin air, but we made them. The highest hike was up to 11,000 feet although we did go higher on the a cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak at over 16,000 feet. What views we saw!!
Nice seeing and spending time with #2 son!
Tomorrow will be back to reality and getting caught up.
Everyone have a good day!
Joan

Good morning!

I almost have the house to myself - DH is off looking at a Assisted Living place for his Dad and little one is asleep - so if no one rings the doorbell - I am good for a couple of hours!

I have the cakes baked for tonight and the sauce made too - just need to frost the cake and fill it. Not hard.

I got the fall door decoration all fused and cut out - it is sitting on top of the pattern layout - just waiting for me to assemble and stitch. I was a little worried - usually you have to add the underlap for each piece, where it intersects another - I just traced the given pattern pieces - then remembered about the lap - well they did too - it was included! Whew!

Ordered a new book from Judy Niemeyer - Bali Wedding Star - Sarah saw it and added it to our bucket list - which is now as deep as the Hoover Dam! I am going to have to live forever to get half of these done! It looks like a fun book - it is paper pieced - so that might help a bit.

Cloudy, gray and stormy today - rained last night and will again today - our dinner with the activity girls is outside - at least there is a covered section - might be quite short! LOL

If my neighbor doesn't get called out on a flight - we will have grass by next week. Yippee!! You can laugh as well - we will be getting snow in the near future as well - so my green, will get covered in white!

Well off to fuse some of these pieces together before my helpers - Perry, the cat and Ethan try to help me lose the pieces.

Prayers! Hugs
Jana

We did 8 half pint jars of tomato paste (our first time making that) Got that all made and canned and then put on a huge pot of sauce to cook down. I was tired and Tia was tired so we came home so she could lay down and rest.

I'm trying to think of something easy to make for supper. Any ideas?

Vicky
