Good Morning Girls

Happy Sunday! It's wonderfully COOL here this morning and we got a bit of rain last night! Feel so good to have the windows open! Only supposed to get up to 74* today so it would be a good day to go outside and do some yard work.. however... I'm a little stiff and sore from painting the bathroom yesterday, so I think I'll stay in and sew today! Good excuse right? Am throwing a small roast in the crock pot for supper tonight!

Lois... I was just thinking yesterday how fast the summer went. Can't believe I can turn the calendar page to SEPTEMBER all ready! We'll be doing the same thing today.. laundry and sewing.

Izzy.... When I make DP's I press them to the side, not open. I think the directions I saw somewhere said to press them open, but I've burned my fingers too many times doing it that way, so I just press them to the dark as much as possible.

Suzette... $11,000. for a sewing machine??? YIKES. Oh yes it would be nice if places delivered Breakfast!!! I found some great breakfast sandwiches in the freezer section at the grocery store by Special K. Flat bread with sausage and egg. They are pretty darn good... I usually cook up one up and take it in the car along with me to work!

Vicky...Thank you for sharing that Psalm this morning, it's so comforting to remember those words during the day!

Judi... I might just jump in the car and join you for dinner tonight! Tacos and home made salsa! Sounds wonderful to me! Hope you are having good weather up there!

Chriss.. .I finally got McKenzie's quilt pinned and am going to work on that today... as soon as I get that done I'm going back to my Calendar blocks! Have only 2 done, but all the pieces cut and ready to go.

Maryz... am still thinking of dog names for you. We had a female black lab named Kizzie, and my folks had a cocker spaniel named Bitzy, my Dad's dog was Arby. We also had a Charlie and Kelly. Always had dogs growing up. My Ds's dog black lab is "Chufa" which in some language is supposed to mean "Nut" tho I'm not sure where that came from. DS's wife had two samoids (sp) Barrett and Emma! Jen's cat was Mattie. I do like Rocket tho! Remember, you have to practice yelling it out the door!

Jana.. How fun it will be to have Sarah and her family so close! I miss my Jen so much and her little Eli growing up so fast! We get to "face time" once in a while, but it's just not the same.

Tina.... good luck with your "thingamajiggy" today! LOL

Well girls, I think I better get in gear, it's after 10 and I know the day will fly by so I better get to it. Going to throw the roast in the crock pot, clean up the kitchen a bit, take a quick shower then head down to the sewing room for most of the day. Am in the middle of making a tote bag for one of the nurses I work with that's due any day. Once that's done I'm going to start quilting McKenzie's quilt... would LOVE to get that done today!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!!

Fishing report from Lake of the Woods: We caught a 27 in. Lake Trout yesterday. I prepped it in a salt/brown sugar brine over night. It's now rinsed, drying on the counter and will go into the smoker in a few minutes. Almost 80 degrees and humid yesterday, now 55. Bbrrr

Prayers, please, for my 92 yr old Mom who fell yesterday and broke her wrist. Dad had to get a neighbor to help get her up off the bedroom floor. My oldest brother lives in same city and went to hospital, called our sister and brother about Mom but never called me. GGRRRRR Seems he thinks I don't care about my parents.

Mary z - Yes we will go back to Estes Park for 3-4 weeks, then head to TX. Come up with any names? I would want to see that pup right now and not wait. Can they email you a photo of the little guy?

Karlene - I think you wrote that you are in Colorado looking for a retirement place, any chance it's in the Fort Collins area? That's where my folks are.

I hope everyone has a good day and get a chance to play with fabric or beads. I, like Velda, have become a beader.

Just reread Maryq's comments to Maryz. Can someone get a video of Maryz yelling dog names out the back door? Lol Maybe it could be posted here and we could vote on what name we would answer to if we were the little pup.

Good afternoon everyone me. Cousin Heather is okay. I don't know a lot about stem cell transplants but am learning.
Hard to believe that I. 3 weeks we will be having our 11 memorial scholarship tournament. Time sure does fly.
Good news, at least for now, when Mo graduates his second phase odd trai I g on sept. 11 he will be stationed at camp leguine in nc. He wanted calif. but after reading some of what people have posted he is probably better off. Better than Hawaii. At least this way pappa and I can take a long weekend sometime and visit. Work is at camp Geiger that Syria inevitable, which I don't even want to think about for a y of our military anywhere. Or any other countries military for that matter.
My niece made a yummy, heavy, well okay dense, chocolate cake for the birthday party last nite. It is called " the best chocolate cake ever". I wouldn't say ever but darn good. She got it on the Internet, It had a frosting of cream chese cool whip and puddi b and then she used Andes tiny bits in top.
Well I am on baby duty and carter should be waking up and minute so I better get moving
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to one and all
Travel safely
PINK, haha I bet you thought I forgot all of you pink warriors, NEVER.

Judi - I'm on my way!

DDIL and DGS arrive home from Russia in 4.5 hours. Maryz - they're at the Seattle airport as I type. Since they have their green cards, they don't have to fly into NYC or San Fran this time around.

Well break time is over - back to packing!

Lynn - My parents are south of Denver in Highlands Ranch. I did make a list of other places in CO and there were quite a few up north of Denver, but they are trying to stay in the stomping grounds that they are familiar with.

Sharona - I've found out from David that Lowes and Home Depot are the cheapest places to buy moving boxes - who knew!

We went out for Mexican food tonight, and boy, did that taste good!

Dorothy - We are visiting my parents in Denver, but will be heading back east there the first part of the week.
