Friday, August 9th

Post by suzette58 » Thu Aug 08, 2013 10:18 pm

Good morning everyone.
I dropped off my quilt yesterday. I have to say that the volunteers were a little rude to people dropping things off. But, that's life. We are going to the fair tomorrow afternoon/evening. I forgot to ask when the judging takes place. I switched my work schedule and have to work today. It has been slow with the AC business this season. That makes for a long day with the parts department. After work today I am heading out to my studio and work on the Pinwheel quilt. I am watching a show that I recorded on the DVRS. It is called That's Clever. It is a craft show that is shown on GAC channel. If you get it check it out. Have a great day!!

A couple of weeks ago I went and got my mammogram. They found a change in my right breast. So, Sunday afternoon I have to go back for another mammogram. The radiology place called me, sent me a letter and the doctor called me yesterday. They sure want to make sure I get checked out. The good thing is I will have my results before I leave there. So, make sure to follow up.

Good morning Suz, Lois, and all who follow. Friday is here. I'll be going to work, then coming home and setting up the air mattresses for DH's nephew and family. They are suppose to be here late tonight or early tomorrow morning and staying until Sunday night or Monday morning.

Suz, prayers that the mammo will have good results this time.

Lois hope your day goes by smoothly.

I better finish getting ready for work. See you all in about 11 hours. Blessings to each of you today.

Emily and I went to the concert last night which was excellent! But sitting for two hours on the chairs has bothered my neck/back some. My chiropractor is away for the whole next week so I guess I just wait and see if it feels better by itself.

My goal today is to finish the yellow tree. Not a too lofty goal but a goal nevertheless. I have to go to my MIL's today and I haven't seen my sister since she started her new job and she has today off. I would like to spend an hour at least with her.

I hope you each have a great day!

Please pray for guidance for me.... and have a great day...growing old aint for sissies. XXXOOO

Happy Friday!!

SUZ - good luck at the fair with your quilt! At least your fair folks were there! Mine told me the wrong day to drop off. And I don't think we'll be going to the fair because it's a 90-mile round trip. My DS and DDIL will be picking mine up. A prayer sent up for you as you go for your mammo on Sunday.

LOIS - how sweet! Mother/daughter gyno appts! All my DD and I could think to do together was get tatoos! lol!! I do wish your DD good luck on her exam.

MARY R - enjoy your visit with family! If you need something interesting to do, you live close to Chaco Canyon, don't you? The very best Indian ruins and Visitor Center we've ever been to! If you can survive the 16-mi washboard road in. It was fascinating!

VICKY - sounds like your 'not so big' day will be filled nonetheless! But enjoyable! You've earned it!

JUDI - it sounds like you are in need of a second opinion - and maybe a chat with the pharmacist (when it comes to drugs, they usually know more than the docs). We have a friend who is a doctor and he says a good doctor will ALWAYS encourage a second opinion. Happy Birthday to your DD!

CHRISS - glad the adoption lady will be there soon. I have solid faith that when she sees your cozy, loving home she can't help but stamp APPROVED all over your forehead!! We won't hear about our fair quilts until Sunday evening when my DS & DDIL call me when they pick them up for us. They HAVE to be picked up after 6pm on Sunday and we HAVE to be in Olympia that day and evening. So Mike and Emily volunteered, bless them.

Yesterday was so busy! DH helped and we cleaned the house all morning long. Then we cut batting for 2 quilts (I had to fuse one because it was so huge), and then I make a backing for one of the quilts. After that, I made 2 batches of biscuits and 4 batches of cookies and froze them! Today will be packing the trailer fridge and our clothes so DH can pull the fifth-wheel to the side yard where he will add the tote extension platform to the back of it and load up the ATV. Our trip is getting closer! If I have any spare time, I want to sew a few more log cabin blocks, and then we'll try to visit our friends, Warren & Lois in the late afternoon. So happy that we have leftover meatloaf and potatoes ready for supper! No cooking!

Prayers and hugs for all!

Good Friday Morning everyone!
I'm listening 'to the rhythm of the falling rain' and it looks like it will continue most of the day. If I didn't have to be at work, it actually would be quite lovely to be out in as it isn't cold - warm temp. and nice rain. But alas, I am not a duck.

I got the top together for my niece and decided to add a little applique to both the quilt tops so that they will be personal. (Key word being 'little')

My MIL is finally sched. to have her knee replaced later this month. In the back of my mind I had decided to someday make a Dresden plate quilt for her. But as I was thinking about it, she does not really like curved/round designs - she likes square designs, so I'm rethinking that one.

Traci - so sorry about your mom, and for everything else you are going through.

Chriss - I wish those state people would get it together and do what is right for Marilyn.

Sharona - that's too bad that your get-away has to be shortened - maybe it's an opportunity for 2 get-aways?

Well, onwards and upwards,
Have a great weekend
Karlene
