Good early morning!

I've not been to sleep yet, waiting for more updates on DD, Kim. You may have missed it yesterday, Kim is back in the hospital. The areas on her lower abdomen & outer thighs of pain, lumps & discoloration is Heparin Necrosis. She had a dermatologist appointment on Tues & she sent Kim to the ER, asap. This happens to 1 in 10,000 people that get Heparin shots!! Her new set of Drs, she has 4, have never seen this before & are trying to figure out what to do. It does have to be removed surgically. They've given her a MRI.

Please keep my baby & her DRs in your prayers.

Love & prayers.....Kathy

Good morning Lois, Kathy and those that follow.
I am off today but up early because I have my mammogram appointment at 7:30 this morning. Get that out of the way and I am good to go for another year. When I get home and get hubby off to work I am going out to my studio and get back to work on my Christmas Swap blocks. I am so glad things fell into place and I have gotten back to working in my studio. Have a great day everyone.

Lois - workout some for me while you are at the gym.
Kathy - I hope everything works out well for your daughter.

Need to do a few more uglies. and change he sheets on the kids bed. replace all the pillows and quilts. I keep all the quilts in there and all the spare pillow.s we have 7 on that bed the kids make forts out of them. Quilts make great forts too. If you missed it I posted some pict of the kids at the farm yesterday,

Good morning!

Kathy - I will be praying for your daughter and her doctors and you. Poor thing has been through so much already.

Lois - hope your goofing off was fun yesterday!

Suzette - happy squishing. I had mine last Monday - still waiting for the results.

Mary/Rose - hope today is a good day at work.

Judi - I'm changing sheets today also. The girls here made a clubhouse with their blower-bed (inflatable bed). They turned it on its side and put in lots of battery-powered candles. Just love those grandkids... Glad your mammo was clear. Loved the pictures of the kids at the farm.

Today I shall be cleaning again - DH's sister and her DH will be here late this afternoon for four days. Blah - I'm not one for sitting around and chit-chatting. Hope everyone has a great day. xoxo Sharona

Good morning..

there are more fires in our area.. not "near" us but around here.. central California is like a bowl..and the smoke just sits there like soup....a good rain or wind would be good for the air.. but this too shall pass....

today Jerry and Marilyn will paint her trim boards and fan blades to match her room... I still need to do the boa around the tv...my only wish is that I could have found white book shelves.. these are brown... not sure if I can paint them or not...they have that laminate stuff covering them now...

Karlene.. I would love to see your ugly quilt.... hope your birthday was wonderful.

Maryz.. I have been thinking about applique in 30's fabric too... some time ago I bought the magic vine "kit" on QIAD.. it was all 30's fabric FQ's... when you finish this quilt for DD will all three be done?

Scrappy Pat.. I sure wish I could come play in your sewing room.. I love that kind of thing... have you found any treasures while re-arranging?

Jana.. I am glad the kids kept a journal...it would be interesting to hear their thoughts compared to the thoughts of the people who made that trip in the 1800's... what is the "Two Brooms" all about???

Chickie.. sorry about the weeds... I too am anti carpet in my house...lol

Izzy, your room will be fun for kids.. that's all that matters...

Kathy, a rebate card is what we are getting instead of a rebate check.. we got a $10 rebate for buying a gallon of paint, it came in the form of a debit type card... made by MasterCard... works like a credit card..odd huh? prayers for Kim.. hope they figure it out fast...

Judi, great grand pictures.. they really are having fun...quilts make great forts.

Suzette, glad you're back in your play room too...

Lois and Mary Rose... have a fun day

Sharona, I'm not a chit chatter either, 4 days should go by quickly...

well, it's time for me to get my tush moving.. you all have a superb day,

Morning....

No real update on Kim. Waiting for a dermatologist so they can make a 'plan'. She has been admitted & is a lot of pain. I'm seeing another loooooog term visit there.

The other day I was playing around with my quilting rulers. I measured the middle of my 4 1/2 x 14 ruler & it was only 4 3/8. So after many, many years of use it had worn away. Did you know this or was I the only one who didn't?

Thank you all for you love, prayers & thoughts.....

Love & prayers to you...........Kathy

Good Morning!

KATHY - oh dear! I will certainly say some prayers for Kim and her doctors and even some for her mom! I've never heard of Heparin necrosis. Will you be going back there? Do you text? You have my cell #. Please feel free to use it any time! Hugs, my friend!

LOIS - you goofed off?! Good for you! Hope you do it again today!

SUZ - Happy Mammogram! I'm happy you're out in your sewing studio again! Enjoy!

ROSE-MARY - hope your day is a good one!

JUDI - i love forts! when we were little, we draped blankets over the card-table and piled pillows and more blankets inside. and Mom let us eat our dinner in there sometimes. Great fun!

SHARONA - more company! Will you go do something instead of "sitting around chatting? If I remember right, Denver has a neat natural museum and a cool zoo. And I'd like a drive to Gold Hill for lunch, or Estes Park, or a visit to see those beautiful Budweiser horses, or see what's doing at the Fairgrounds in Longmont (always something there). Just some ideas. I don't like just sitting either! Have fun whatever you do!

CHRISS - I'm surprised Home Depot didn't have white shelving. I think if you get the right paint, you can cover the brown. Or you could add a few more brown accents around the room, I suppose. Brown and turquoise go together. Honest. I got a brown and turquoise dress for my 6th birthday and it was my favorite! Yes, Lara's quilt is the last Christmas quilt. But last night I remembered that I planned to do an extra block for the center with their initials in it. So I guess I'm not quite ready for it yet. I thought about ordering the applique kit for the Magic Vine book. But I wanted to try needle turn and Cindy G has been teaching me via e-mail. I did my first block last night. and I liked it! To be honest, I thought I'd get impatient but it's a very soothing, relaxing process. No rush because it's just for me to enjoy.

KATHY AGAIN - I had no idea we could wear out our rulers! Maybe I better measure my most used ones.

Today I'm going to try to design that block I forgot about. And some uglies are starting to rear their 'ugly' heads again. I think I'll have my own little Sweep'n'Sew here.

Kathy - I'm so sorry to hear about Kim. Bless her heart. I know you are terribly worried.

Lois - sorry you have to do chores today but I'm glad you had a goof off yesterday afternoon. We all need one of those.

Suz - I'm glad you are back on the track to your sewing house. Good for you for going to get your mamms grammed.

MaryRosebud - I'm at work today, too. I feel kind of tired today - it's the heat. I hope I have the energy to get to my sewing hole this evening.

Judi - I did see the pix and the kids are so cute. They looked like they were having fun with the animals. I bet your house does seem very quiet.

Sharona - oh, gosh, sitting around making small talk it not my cup of tea either. Maybe you can invite her to your sewing room and you can sew while she talks. Four days would be a lot of time to waste.

Chriss - sorry about the fire and smoke in your area. I guess you could always put shelf liner on those brown shelves which would make them look not quite so brown. Your vacation week sure went fast, didn't it?

Kathy - thanks for the heads up about the ruler. I never realized they would wear down over time. DUH! I just never thought about it.

I'm at work. Very busy. I haven't closed June yet and tomorrow is August. Scheesh!!!! I'm a little behind. I'd better get busy.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.
