Morning Pals!!!
Been a pretty busy week with all the places Sun Sue and I have been, The newsletter to finish (which took longer than usual - I am taking August Off as everyone else is), Crabs and sand to find, Baby quilt to finish, house to clean for Shop BBQ today at 5pm, Funeral to attend at 11am (dear Norma went to see the Lord after a strong fight with Cancer) and trying to figure out how and when my body will actually let me sleep (Benadryl works but I think that might be what is making me itch and the heat has been a big issue this week. I do itch when I sweat also - Ugh). Other than that it has been pretty quiet :) :) I am not going to tell you what else is on my list. I take it one thing at a time and if it gets done - HALLELUJAH!!!! Thank the Good Lord for a Calendar and strength when I need it and that I do not HAVE TO work outside the house. I am indeed BLESSED.

"The Christmas Block Swap Train is filling up very fast!!! Jacquie is now on board!!!!! As Mary (the Christmas SalesPal) would say very brightly "this very festive opportunity is closing soon! Only ONE more spots! Hurry! Hurry! You better sign up fast and beat the holiday rush!"
This Annual Christmas Quilt is always a One of a Kind, Unique Quilt that you will cherish and treasure for a very long time made of Colorful blocks from your Cotton Pal Family. You will NEVER, EVER regret coming on board for the ride of your life!!!!!! When you see the list of Pals on board you will understand why it is getting very Loud and Colorful!!!!! Take the chance - Hop on!!!!!!

Has anyone used Dream Cotton Puff Batting? Thought I might try it :)

I am off to bed to read for a bit (I am trying to reread Debbie Macomber Cedar Cove Series to refresh myself before the Show airs on the 16th? of July) and maybe the body will get the idea to sleep and if DH isn't quiet he will get pushed off the bed ... kidding - LOL!!!!

What are the weekend Plans???
HUGE HUGS, Blessings and Prayers Always

Good Very early morning! Insomnia strikes again! So here I am with my cuppa bedtime tea and thou.

TERESA - your plate sounds very full. Sorry about the loss of your friend. My Christmas Swap blocks have an expected delivery date of Monday (along with my July Lotto blocks!). handy for me that you are hosting both!

Sue and her handsome DH made it here today! And we got to snarfle on their little dog, Kramer, an equally handsome Jack Russell. He's a cutie but my kitty is not a fan. LOL! Today we're going to hit some quilt shops and go looking at RV's - just for fun. No Buying!! Just looking! for fun. Then we'll relax a bit and later find a restaurant for dinner. If there's time before dinner, and Sue wants, we'll go to Port Orchard's quilt shop, too, and stop at Debbie Macomber's gift shop/tea house while we're there. Teresa, I think your mythical town of Cedar Cove is based on Port Orchard.

We'll TRY to remember the camera and take a few photos through the day.

Make the day count!

Good morning everyone.
I actually have started sewing the rows together for my Quilts of Honor quilt!!! While hubby worked on the kitchen wall getting it ready to tile, I sewed. Today, no sewing. We are going to Lake Anna. One of hubby's nieces and her husband have a house there and we are all getting together. I even bought a bathing suit! I was told yesterday they have a project for me. On the boat they have a canvas shade and it needs to be patched. They ordered a new one but it does not fit right. So, we'll see. Have a great day.

Emily, my sister and I went to the fireworks last night. I am covered in bug bites this morning (I think misquotes) We did spray ourselves but we were right by the river. We waited and hour and ten minutes for 6 minutes of fireworks. I have to say Em was disappointed.

Today is Tia's picnic. I have to run over to Sams to pick up rolls for her (she wanted them very fresh) I'm taking watermelon.

I'm not sure if I'll get any of the quilt done today or not.

My neighbor gave me three cans of beer and I put some out in the garden last night, It WORKS!!!! The slugs LOVED it and we caught a bunch of them. I'm doing it again tonight.

Darryl is up early working on that van. I hope soon we can get it inspected!

I hope you all have a great day!

Morning all :) I am having a quiet day today after a very full day yesterday – I am thoroughly worn out, but it was all for a great reason, spending the day with my friends :)

Teresa – you sound as worn out as me, I have used Dream Cotton Puff Batting, I’ve used it on baby quilts and found it easy to use and quilt, very light in weight, which my arms and hands thank me for :)

Maryz – sorry you can’t sleep, hope you’ve gone to sleep now, enjoy your day with Sue and I hope you only buy in the quilt stores LOL

Lois – i’m the same when trying to sort out my studio, something else always crops up....hope you manage to get yours done :)

Suze – have a lovely day at the lake and I hope the patching job doesn’t take too long and you get to show off your new swimsuit :)

Well Charley just now officially got her grades through the post for her uni course......she got a 2:1 and is thrilled........a First is like straight A’s, acing every paper and course work, then the grade goes down to 2:1, so just under the top score, then a 2:2, then it drops to a 3.......so we are all celebrating, the sun is shining, Murray is through to the final of Wimbledon and today is nothing but a bright cheerful day :) Charley has spent all week ‘working’ at the school she is going to start working at in Sept, she has met the children who will be in her class and has met all the teachers and started to build relationships with them, Charley will have a class of 33 ten/eleven year olds, and she will be preparing them for going up to senior school the following year, so it’s quite an important year, but I’m pleased the head teacher thinks she’s up to the challenge and capable of taking on that final year in primary school........oooh I’ve just realised Charley now has letters after name LOL........Charley Moreton-Ford BA Hons.....I think a treat is in order.......we’re going shopping on Monday to find her a nice dress to wear for her graduation, so I think we need to have lunch out too and make a day of it :)

I wish you all a happy weekend, lots of love and prayers xxxx

Good Morning everyone. It is sunny today and hopefully it won't rain...forcast does call for it slight chance. I actually sewed all day yesterday and got all 12 dresden blocks done...now to put them together,,,,then my ADD kicked in and I remembered to pull out my BOM,,,,if you all remmeber I missed the last class being in the stupid hospital....so I tried a few times to call the instructor to see about a make up class but was not able to get ahold of her, SOooooooo I got out the directions and taught myself to use my twin needle. It wasn't that hard. So Now on to the cording foot. I will research that one and try to get the June block done and prep the July and be caught up with that.

Today I am not sure what is on the agenda...a few uglies to do and laundry that isn't going to do itself.(who knew?) Ken wants lettuce wraps for dinner so I might need to run to the market for mushrooms.

Hope you all have a great day,,,
Maryz give Sue a big hug,,,,haven't seen her around lately....tell her Hi.
Love to all XXXOOO

Good Morning Girls

I'm up early... as I have to work today! Going to be a hot one.

Had all great intentions of stopping at Joann on the way home from work last night, (supposed to get off at 6) but ended up staying til almost 9pm.... got super busy, which is fairly common, so thought I better stay and help. Unfortunately Joann isn't open 24/7! The "Powers that Be" don't seem to realize how busy we get later in the day/evening and think having only 2 people on duty is fine.. IT"S NOT! Anyway... Since today for SURE I'll get out at 5 I'm definitely stopping on my way home.

Maryz... How fun to have Sue and her DH visit you!! You put me to shame having all your Christmas blocks done already. I've barely started. Can't wait to see pictures!

Teresa... ok my July Lotto blocks are done! Will get them in the mail on Wed. when I have the day off! Sorry to hear of your friends passing.. It was a year ago yesterday I lost my little brother. That's weird that Benadryl makes you itch.. it usually what they GIVE people to STOP itching! Never heard of that batting.. I do love Warm and Natural or Warm and White.. they are my favorite and I usually try to stock up if Joann has it on sale. Batting is getting expensive!

Jules...Congrats to Charlie on her grades! 33 Kids in her class? That's a big class! What a challenge it will be! I remember visiting Jen's classes when she was teaching, it was so fun. I would read to them and do different voices for the different characters. Even a British accent as I was reading "James and the Giant Peach"

Suzette... hope you have a great time at the lake in your new SWIM SUIT. I have one around here somewhere... but I only wear it my yard when I'm mowing! NEVER in public.

Lois... it's a never ending battle trying to keep a sewing room clean! But I think it's a good sign that it's messy... means you've been using your creative juices!

Judi... hope it stays dry for you today. We need some rain around here. Only advantage to being so dry is I don't have to mow as often. Which means more sewing time. Can't wait to see you DP all finished.

Vicky.... beer in the garden??? I've heard that milk is good for roses, but never heard of beer for slugs. I suppose if Caleb is a vegan he won't eat ice cream to add some weight. I do love ice cream once in while, especially on a hot day, but try to avoid it because it DOES add weight! LOL

Guess I better jump in the shower and get ready for work. It was be a great day as I don't have to answer the phone all day! They are switching the phone system soon I hope, to where it won't ring at my desk 1st before it rolls to somebody else. Man I get tired of answering the phone all day!

Hope you all have a most wonderful day and by the day's end I hope you are covered in threads!

Hi pals,
Sorry to see that some of you are having trouble with the sleeping.
Wish I could share my sleep habits. I get teased all the time by DH that I fall asleep during a sentence. It must be funny to be talking to someone and they suddenly don't even finish the sentence. LOL

I am an early bird though, we are up by 5- 5:30am. I have been that way all my life. Even as a child, I was up and going very early every day.

Hope you all get caught up with your projects and then can relax and enjoy your sleep at night very soon.

Jules and Teresa, WOW you both have so much going on. Sounds so exciting for Charley's new career. And Teresa, hope you really do get to take some time off to unwind and catch up with yourself.

Mary: glad you are enjoying the little dog and hope you have "sew" much fun going to the quilt shops and lunch out. sounds like a great fun day.

Suzette: Enjoy your day. Hope you get to try your new bathing suit.

Vicky: That idea for your slugs sounds like a neat trick. Hope it keeps on working. There are so many natural remedies for things, if we just had the resources to know them. I saw a book once with 1000's of them, I should have invested in a copy.

Yesterday, I got my July Lottos "fixed" and then got them off to the post office. The campground is buzzing with people. The weather cleared up for Yesterday and today, so the campground really filled up. It's neat to see all the families and kids enjoying themselves.
Last night they had a group of muscians playing bluegrass at the pavillion. Boy, were they good!!! They played more than just bluegrass, which is good, cause not all people are fans of that style of music. including me. a little of bluegrass goes a long way with me, but they guys and gals were really good. One man even played the bag pipes. Wow was he good. I am not a fan of bag pipes either, but this guy really could play. He played Danny Boy, Amazing Grace, and tunes like that. He also played a recorder or some type of flute. as well as the violin. God sure blessed these guys with talent!!!

Tonight is Karaoke, but I won't be going to listen to that - - too many people that THINK they can sing, and should forget trying LOL.

No real plans for today. I like days like that, just do whatever.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend. God Bless You,
God Bless our Homes. No matter what country we live in.

Velda
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good Saturday Morning to all. DH just left for work again today. We had cup of coffee on porch and watched more rain. I never received any goffer wood so guess I am up this creek (or as they say here in KY crik) without a paddle LOL EKY joke there:)

Teresa How much you taking? Benedryl does that to me if I take 2. Have you tried Melatonin; you can get it at Sams or Walmart probably any pharmacy section. It helps me also. Dr put me on sleeping pill Restoril--only take it when melatonin doesnt work. It stays in system 72 hrs and I am always the lucky random draw at school for drug testing LOL I have failed evey year and nurse has to call dr. :)
Joke is my bubbly personality isn't real is drug related LOL.

Grt news for Charley--hope first year with that age group is a fun one. I can remember my first yr. I had 65 the max caseload for a SLP in ky. Paperwork was a killer but love the kids. You feel old when you start getting their kids AHG!!

Worked on moms quilt for 2 hrs yesterday my back was killing me. Iced it Motrin and then laid on heating pad before bed. Was wore out. Rain never stopped yesterday, last night and still coming down. We have dumped pool twice due to over the skimmers by 3 inches.

Goats not happy; aurora (baby) hasnt come out of pin for two days. Needs to stretch those legs and jump but too wet. We ended up with 24 chicks. One died the other day; and one not doing so well. They were the last two--late ones out. This is normal.

Got my pattern yesterday for Els Wbinar: Christas in July theme tree and wreath pattern. Will go nicely with my christmas quilt.

Come on one of you can join us or send us a friend its fun; I am a newbie and loving it:)))Everyones blocks are so festive and beautiful I cant wait to open my mail and have all 20 to start putting together:)

Well gotta do the uglies and then to moms quilt. I should finish today so that I can start binding it:)
