Re: Tuesday 25 June
Good Morning Girls
YIPPEEE I have a day off!! So much to do today, first on the first is getting the oil changed! I'm a few miles over due---gotta keep my old jalopy running for a couple more years, as much as I would LOVE a new car. This one has 114 thous. miles on it and I hope it hangs in there for a few more. Then I'll come home to mow and finish laundry and maybe wash a floor or two, if there's time. It's warm and muggy today, so might just have to turn on the AC. A kid from work is coming over to help me with some yard work, he has 2 days off and he's bored! Sure enough stuff around here to keep him busy!
Jules... congrats on the weight loss!! Hope you have a great day sewing with Chris. When I went shopping for some clothes the other day, I was amazed at how expensive blouses and tops were... am thinking I should sew clothes for myself too!
Billizzy... Welcome to the greatest group of quilters in the whole wide world! Prayers coming your way from Minnesota today for a good visit at the Dr... with all good news.
Cindyg... WOW another featherweight for your collection? How awesome is that! Prayers continue for Ed today.. When I mow this afternoon, that's what I'll be doing is praying.....
Judi.... so glad to hear you are feeling better. Naps are important... they help you heal! May you can rent one of those fancy walkers to take along to the quilt show, one with a seat, so you can walk a little and rest a little.
Scrappy.... I really should get back on the WW plan,... years ago I did it and lost 45#... but got pregnant again and gained it all back! No fear of getting pregnant this time, so I should really get back to it. I always think I'm going to let me hair grow too, but sure enough it starts driving me nuts and I cut it off again! In the humid weather it doesn't do a darn thing I want it to!
Suzette... have always wanted to go on a quilt retreat too, but then I figure I can stay home and lock myself in the sewing room and get a lot accomplished. I do think it would be more fun---to sew and chat with other quilters and share ideas!
Lois.. no matter how hard I try to keep my sewing hole cleaned up.. those darn gremlins get in there and make a mess when I'm sleeping!
Karlene... how fun to be able to be there for the Ultra sound!! I was so sure Jen was having a girl....I bet Eliz. was touched to have a name sake! Shopping for baby girls is so much fun... so many darling outfits for girls!
Maryz... Good job getting the camper cleaned up.. now it will be all ready to go for your next trip! Bummer you lost your sunglasses... I've heard that Costco has pretty good prices for glasses.
Chriss... any big plans for your vacation? My next vacation is going to be a "Staycation" The Job Jar is still full!
Guess I better get in gear here, shower up and head to town. Need to stop at the jewelry store too. I have a ring with 3 diamonds that the prongs need to be checked. They were my Dad's diamonds and when he passed I bought the stones from my Mom and had them reset in a ring. I never take it off, but I think I better get it checked out -- sure don't want to lose a diamond out of it.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

I went with DD when she was pg with Jaz but with this one I don't get to go which is a happy/sad thing for me....happy she has the father going because it is such a special time and sad because I don't get to LOL Yep I want it all LOL A little girl and I love the middle name and how sweet to name her after her Auntie
)
Maryz, rain? hmmmmmmm I can't remember what that's like, enjoy your day in after your Costco run
) Sorry you lost your glasses though, I know that would sure be a bummer for me to do so I could imagine how you feel. I hope Sue pops in for a visit
)
Judi, of I'd only known..... a lady was set up at the quilt show and she had 2 of them she was selling. I'll see if I still have my receipt and if it has her number on it. I wrote her a check last year but paid cash this year....I'll see what I can find out.
Kathy, I think she wants you to stay
) I know no matter what age I get that when I'm hurt I always want my Mom
) maybe she's the same way. My Mom can't come take care of me anymore but even just having her close is comforting

Re: Tuesday 25 June
I'm back from our walk - you know it's going to be hot day when it's 67 at 5am...
Karlene - how sweet that Victoria is using E's middle name for her daughter! Re the songs: I was singing so he could be awake with me. I was asking him if he remembered the theme to 'Have Gun, will Travel' or the
'High Chaparral' (my all-time favorite) or the Big Valley. I had asked him before I fell asleep to please give me the light show at that time (he likes to wave the remote in my eyes to give me 'light'. Plus, he 'sings', but it really is just a hum/moan combination). Knowing how tired I was, I really was doing it for his benefit. Oh MY - if people heard us at night, they would think we were both nuts.
Maryz and Tina - we're having a 25th anniversary bash for immediate family Sat nigh and then a BBQ on Sunday for both family and friends. We're headed to Ohio and bringing back Sophia and Samantha for a week before their parents head out here. Plus DH's sister and BIL are coming out for two weeks (staying with my BIL for the first week). All company, all the time! hehehe Tina - out here, we're calling rain 'fire extinguisher'.
Maryz, I cannot believe you lost 'our' sunglasses. Did you get the same frames? Bummer. What did you do in the meantime? I have to have shades on or I keep my eyes closed. Makes for some interesting driving if I can't find any...! I keep a spare pair in each are just in case.
Miriam - I'm with you on those tomatoes. YUM. I also love fried green tomatoes. My grandma used to make them with chicken, and at her house we'd have the fried green ones, the fresh sliced red ones, onions, green beans, and potatoes and gravy. OH MY!!!! Sure hope y'all get some rain soon.
Maryq - how lovely to have some testosterone to help with the yard work. I would be cranking the a/c on also.
Cindyg - what a wonderful thing for your housecleaner to do! I'm praying for Ed and all as well. My gosh - I just cannot imagine. Here's the start of the Walker song for you: In the eyes of a ranger, The unsuspected stranger Had better know the truth of wrong from right. Chorus: 'cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you, Any wrong you do he's gonna see, When you're in Texas look behind you, 'cause that's where the rangers are gonna be. I get REALLY loud at the chorus. If you'd like, I'd be more than happy to call your phone and sing it for your answering machine.
I know I've missed someone - better run before DH lops off more branches from the locust tree. I told him yesterday if he cut off one more branch, I was going to start cutting things off of him. All our trees' branches start about 8' off the ground, because he doesn't like to run into them whilst mowing. I suggested he duck, but I was ignored...! TTYL

Re: Tuesday 25 June
Good morning from the soon to be the blistering hot mountain west! Later this week we will top 100 - maybe even 105! Indoor time for me!
The boys we hire came yesterday and finished moving the rest of the stone to the back yard and put it in storage under the deck for us. So now the street is empty of the pallets and all swept up. They do a good job.
Ethan is playing at his house again today - so I might get caught up on things around here.
Saw on the news that tomorrow is National Sunglass Day - hope that the lost ones turn up! Speaking of things turning up - well the lost remote did turn up - so now I have two!
I have several nieces that are named after me - the one that lives across the street is one of the nieces that have my middle name. Some of the other nieces have part of my first name as well as middle name too. I think there are four of them - I lose count! LOL
Chriss - I have six grandchildren - I can say grandchildren because the boy streak has been broken! 5 boys and our little Miss Emma. Poor child - Miss Emma looks just like my baby pictures!
Well I have the uglies that are screaming my name!
Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Re: Tuesday 25 June
Just a quick hello. I was up at 4:30am. Not because I could not sleep. Oh, No, it was "fishing time". Got a quick cup of coffee and then off to see if the Bass were up and biting.
Not too much action this morning, but both DH and myself got one fish. His catch weighed in more than mine (3lbs 3oz), but we didn't weigh mine, it was a little one. Probably would have been 14 inches, but we don't keep any of them. We believe in "catch and release".
If we catch crappie or white bass, then we keep them to eat.
Fishing has been a little off this year with the high water and all.
But we had fun anyway. Now I am off to take a little late morning nap.
I will come back a little later and catch up on all the reading.
Looks like we have a lot going on. I will surely have to read all and keep up with everyone.
Hugs

Re: Tuesday 25 June
Good afternoon! Just a quick stop in. I have got a lot to do before my grandchildren get here next week with their parents. I don't know who is more excited them or DH and me. Easy answer - ME.
Got my quilt layered out and almost ready to pin so I can quilt it. Also working on some cross-stitch too.
Well, got to go eat lunch then back to uglies. I went out and bought all new Corelle dishes and a new breadbox. My old ones were 20 years old so I guess I got my monies worth out of the old ones.
Have a good day all. Prayers for all. Hope you have some time to enjoy fabric today.

Re: Tuesday 25 June
Well, I wasn't going to post today because I'm too tired. But, when I saw how many others were insomnolent I decided to share my sleepy misery. What's up that so many of us didn't sleep well on the same night? I was up til 4, and I know some people consider that wake-up time! Then I slept poorly til 9, so hopefully I'll make it up tonight.
