Grammiequilts Judi is still in the hospital. She must be. Starting to feel better because she said she is borded and wants out. I just texted with her a few minutes ago.
Cousin Heather is out of the hospital again. WOO HOO.
HD my blood work this morning for the breast MRI next week. I almost kissed the gal because it was the first time EVER that they didn't have to call in vein specialists ( if there is such a thing) to get my blood.
Our next youngest grandson Alex graduated from high school Saturday. We have to go to parties for two of his friends, one Saturday and one Sunday. Next week his party, and then off and on 4 more. Time for a second job !!!!!!!!
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need
Travel safely and return often
And PLEASE if you haven't got a mamo lately, do it, please

Hi, Good news about Judi. Prayers still that she heals quickly. I posted yesterday but late last night so will repost it here today. Prayers for all of you today and always. Need to be packing. Love and hugs to all, God bless, Shirley Mae
.....................................................................
Here is yesterday's post.

We are packing for a trip to Las Vegas this weekend. Our son-in-law is retiring from the Air Force after 22 yrs. The ceremony is fri pm. Since his own dad left him at age 2, Rod wants to be there for him on this special occasion.

Will go up thur and come back sat. House will be full of company but we plan on grabbing a couch somewhere in a corner. Hotels are all booked for 2 diff major conventions that weekend. Most rooms are over $100 a night anyway and can't afford that.

Also some very good news at out house. WE are getting a new grand-daughter. She has been a foster child for a few months but thanks to a court hearing this week, will be adopted by our DD and SIL in 6 months. She is 7 yrs old, small and skinny with long blond hair and so cute. She lives with the family we are visiting this weekend.

We will get to meet her this weekend. Can't wait. We have 5 DGKS and this will be #6. The other 2 DGDs are already in college so will be fun to have a little girl around again. The other 3 are boys, one in college in NY, one 10 yrs old (both her soon to be brothers) and there is a 5 yo old here in Phx. Another little girl to make quilts and dolly things for. I miss that. And she loves pink. Makes it easier. LOL

I need to get busy and go back to packing and making a list so we don't forget anything. Prayers for all in need today. May God's love and blessings shower your lives today and always. Hugs and love and prayers across the miles to all. Shirley Mae

ps thanks for your prayers for Rod. Test results are not back yet on his Parathyroid. VA is slow. He had to quit his new job. Too stressful and on his feet too much. No training at all. Demoing is not that easy, especially when you have to wing it because no one is there to tell you what or how to do it.

Good morning! It’s a lovely 72 degrees here now… if only it could stay that way all day… We’re headed for almost 90—it could (and will later) be worse! I will be content.

So glad to hear that Judi is on the mend!!! Can’t keep a great woman down long!!!

Jules—we all knew Charlie will be a delightful primary teacher!!! Her pupils will love her because obviously she cares so much about them!!! Give Analise a hug today from me!

Lois—what do you have planned while your DH is on his mancation? Will you and Dolores be able to have some girl time? I’d be eating only my favorite foods! We get El on RFD-TV, too.

Chrissy—bored is always a good sign of recovery!!! Thank you for keeping us updated!!! I was lucky, too, yesterday that my blood work didn’t require checking both arms (with bruises) and then using my hands… This little girl (looked younger than my DGDs!) got me on the first time and left no marks or bruises! I didn’t have any high school graduations this year—just three 8th grade graduations… I know how you feel!!! Oh, a red-white-&-blue day and night quilt would be beautiful!!! They really are easy with El’s instructions!!! Go for it!!!

Jana—what a great way to teach history with the trek!!! Next time those kids get bored, all they will have to do is think about their ancestors and be thankful! Have a fun day!

Cindy—I can make lunch from nothing, too! You have nothing on my on the falling… I feel/look like Dick Van Dyke with some of my contortions! We are kindred sisters! That’s a great suggestion for Vicky. I took my notebook with questions/answers to all of my late DH’s appointments. Good thing, as later he had no idea what was said!

MaryQ—I had to get cheater glasses for threading my needles… Seems like all the “old stuff” came on me all at once! I used to plug in a little sauce crock pot and make soup in winter for my office lunch. I also used the little insulated lunch bags and an ice pack.

Chriss—how long will the campers be out? I saw there is a big fire near Yosemite. I’m glad the letter made it… there is a note in it for you, too!

MaryZ—oh, a trip to Pendleton!!! Sorry you are freezing and wet! It could be worse… you could be on a motorcycle with a pup tent… been there! Not fun when everything including your sleeping bag and down jacket is soaked!!! (IN JULY!!!) Hope you have a sweater to take to the underground or that it is heated—usually they are about 60 degrees year-around…

Joan—I can’t wait to see the hexi patterns from the webinar! I didn’t sign up for it but have enjoyed watching the posts of projects.

Suzette—everyone has given you great suggestions for lunch! I vote for your own insulated lunch cooler and a “Blue Ice” pack. You can get very creative. Be sue to pack a cloth napkin and “real” fork… no plastic stuff!

Vicky—I sure hope you feel better quickly… The whiplash must be from all the directions you are being pulled and jerked around!!! HUGS!!!

Shirley Mae—of course you should be at your son’s retirement! Enjoy your trip!!! How wonderful for your DD, SIL and this lovely child!!!

Judi—hang in there!!! Get well soon!!!

I need to get busy here… Have a great day!!!

Cindyg - I guess that the Spurs lost - it is really ok - in this series they lose one night and win the next - so the final will go to the better team - the Spurs!

Good morning. I'm still pinkie typing on my tablet so this will be brief. Yesterday I suffered a setback with this rib, so today I'm laying low. Monday and Tuesday I was very productive on my work project planning curriculum for the new standards, so I'm very excited to get back to it as soon as this rib pain diminishes!

For lunch, I like to whip up a quick protein salad to eat with celery ribs or cucumber spears when I don't have any leftovers. My protein is tofu (I make a killer tofu salad!), but the protein could be anything, egg, tuna, chicken, ham, etc. The protein makes it hearty and the salad sticks keep it from being too heavy and eliminate the need for cutlery. Sometimes I have it with rice cakes. I love rice cakes!

So glad that our Judi is doing well! Prayers continue, of course, for all. Secret Pal, your box will be going out today, so start watching for it. It's a box filled with all my exciting adventures back into the land of cotton and sewing (not the Dixie land of cotton! Lol) after breaking this rib. Funny that all my excursions were sewing and quilting related until I went back to work this week!

I hope everyone stays cool or warm, as needed in this crazy June weather! Southern California has been paradise this month, but I dread tge geat that I know lurks in oyr near future!

Better get out of my chair, now. One of the blue jays is screeching at me. I guess the dogs must have eaten all the breakfast kibble, those inconsiderate gluttons! Off to refill the bowl for the birds, then back to my chair to rest this rib!

Surprise & good Morning!!!!

I miss you all. I'm on my DD1's laptop. She is doing really well. The Dr said she can put full pressure on her foot & no boot BUT that is not Mom says!! She needs to baby that foot for awhile or it hurts. there is so much work to do here caring for her, daily cleaning & 2 1/2 months of 3 cats living free. I might have to have it professionaly cleaned. I must go do laundry. I'm so happy she is doing well & has good outlook. Me? I'm tired...very tired. Love & Prayers..................Kathy

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas about lunch. Sme of those ideas are ones I had used when I worked full time. I do have the blue ice packs and an insulated bag.
