Re: Thursday, June 13th (whoops)
Suz - I hope your weather doesn't beat you around too much. Glad you had a good time at your LQS. It's almost always interesting to see what others accomplish.
Lois - try and keep your tootsies dry today. Hopefully you will be at home sewing when they start.
Teresa - that quilt does sound like a picnic. They won't give that job to your DH if he doesn't want it, will they?
Tina - you might have to go to a hotel where it's cool!!! I do hope you get your water cooler fixed today. 107* is brutal.
Velda - you might try finding one of those cooling things on line at Home Depot or Lowe's. We have one that we put in the freezer or the cooler and they are great out on the boat.
Maryz - enjoy your Italian slurping. Sounds good - I love Chicken Parmesan.
Pat - oh, the heat. I detest it. We only have 4 more months of heat and they it will start to cool down. Actually, it usually starts cooling down just in time for the Houston Int'l. Quilt Festival which is usually the first week in November. WOO HOO - can't wait.
Chriss - thanks for the prayers for Vicki and Ed. They are so appreciated. I will not see them this weekend. We are going to the lake for our anniversary. I'm planning on going the next weekend. I'm jealous that you are getting your house painted. Mine needs it so badly and my DH hates to paint and we're too poor to hire it done. So we sit there in an ugly house.
Grammie - I heard on the news this morning that the fires are doubling back. How awful for those people. Have fun with your grands on the camping trip. Where are you going?
Last night I did one load of laundry, fixed dinner, worked on my hand applique a little bit and watched the final of Downton Abbey - went to bed depressed. Now I'm at work, have a cardiologist appt. this afternoon then going grocery shopping for our camping trip this weekend. Then I'll go home and pack food and clothes. I don't know if we'll get to fish or not this weekend. We got a new bathroom faucet for the 5th wheel - the one that's in it is too short and we can barely get our hands under it - so DH will work on putting that in. That's it for me. Gotta get busy.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!
I'm running through again. The smoke last night was AWFUL. Karlene, I really feel for your dad. It looked apocolpytic out with the smokey haze settling over everything, and the sun was a different hue as it filtered thru the clouds. WEIRD.
Tina - praying for rain for all of you.
Cindyg - praying for your friends.
Must go look for DH, who unwisely decided to walk before eating (he has bloodwork today). MEN!
Love to all. xoxo Sharona

Good morning!
I got to be quick this morning - we had those winds late in the afternoon, yesterday - they are wicked! Here it is called a micro-burst from a violent thunderstorm. We were under a watch for a couple of hours. When it blew through Herriman - it was over 80 MPH! Ethan was outside with his Dad and he was just about blown out of Joseph's hands! Up the road from us, huge trees were uprooted and crashed into a house and destroyed the house. No one was hurt. We are fine, just a little more dust to clean up!
I am off to watch the little boys this morning - there a wedding their parents are attending at 10 a.m., then back here to get the new bookcases!! YIPPEE!!
Catch up later -
Hugs

Re: Thursday, June 13th (whoops)
Afternoon everyone
I hope you are all well and life is treating you kind
I’ve missed being here and chatting with you daily and I’m sure I missed out on lots of news but I keep you in my daily prayers and know that the Lord knows your needs, even if i don’t , and will continue to hold you firm in His love xx
Suze – fingers crossed for you, hope the weather doesn’t get bad....I’m always amazed at what wonderful things people can do on a regular machine
Lois – keep safe in those storms xx
Teresa – have you got the hexie bug??? And prayers for DH and his job, there is something to be said for going to work, doing your job and coming home and not worrying about it until your next work day
Tina – oh I’d do anything for some of your heat, it’s the middle of June and it’s like winter here
Velda – oh how sweet to read that you missed me and Jacquie, that put a big smile on my face for sure

Maryz – what have I missed? Why can’t you eat much? Have you been ill???? Love and prayers xx
ScrappyPat – hope it doesn’t got too hot for you and I bet your tomatoes will taste gorgeous
Chriss – ooh i bet your bedroom and bathroom will look lovely when they’re finished, will we see pictures/ have a lovely day???
Grammie – have a lovely time camping with your little ones
prayers for your nephew and his home xx
Karlene – I’m always amaxzed at the colours that end up on the colour catchers, I still can’t fathom how they work, why does the colour stick to them and nothing else.....befuddles my brain everytime I use them
Cindyg – I hope you have a good weekend camping.....I have to admit, I’ve never watched one episode of Downton, I might just have to watch a few to see what all the fuss has been about......the house where they filmed Downton is only about 30 mins from me, i MIGHT TAKE Charley and visit in the summer, if I do I’ll post some photos of me and Charley ‘on the set’ LOL
Well I’ve had a busy couple of weeks, I’ve been childminding my nieces as my mum is away, I also went back to hospital to have more skin removed from around the site of my dodgy mole, phew, that was a much bigger procedure than the mole removal, I have 11 stitches, it hurts like h**l and has now got infected so I’m on large doses of antibiotics, the stitches come out Tuesday and I can’t wait
I’m spending all weekend packing up Charleys flat and then we’re moving all the furniture out on Monday, so a busy weekend for us....also me and Charley joined Slimming World 2 weeks ago and I have lost 7lbs and Charley has lost 6lbs, so we are very pleased with that.....lets hope we can keep it up and get smaller and smaller as time goes on.....love and prayers to all xxx

Re: Thursday, June 13th (whoops)
Good morning! It’s busy here!!! Yesterday I ran out of daylight when I was watering the flowers. DGD and I went with DH to Independence and Cherryvale for errands for him. On the return, I looked over and saw ripe cherries at the old home site! The kids (DGS & wife) are on their honeymoon in the Bahamas… so… you cruise, you lose! We went home, loaded up pails and ladders and picked cherries… came home and pitted them, then made a batch of cherry jam. Some of it set up, some didn’t. I had to use powdered pectin instead of liquid. Now I wish I’d made the trip to town for the liquid. Oh well… cherry syrup for pancakes and ice cream!!! There are 8 cups of cherries left, and they will become pies today. We only got the side seams of DGD’s #2 skirt sewed after getting it cut out. We want to sew today, make pies, do laundry (it’s started) and go see Great Grammie (Mom). I’m sure we have more on our list, but that’s all I can think of for now… We checked cows and found two more babies! The cows sure are spread out having them again this year!
Thankfully, today will “only” be in the upper 80s! The upper 90s were miserable yesterday!
Sorry I can’t write to everyone! I must get moving here and on to the projects…
Have a great day!

Re: Thursday, June 13th (whoops)
Good morning from soggy, overcast, warm, SW. Pa....We had a terrible storm during the night, thunder, lightening, the works......I ended up with 3 furbabies on my side of the bed trying to get under the blankets....Jim had mowed the grass on Tuesday and it looks like it's grown a foot since then....How does this happen????
Today is Jim's day with the elderly bingo and my day to run amok! I haven't decided which direction I'm headed but I'm out for the afternoon.....We did check out some vanities and believe it or not, we actually agreed on 1...Now to get a mirror/medicine chest to match and then get them delivered..
Chriss, I think this is another purrrfect day....I'm running and I'm sure not doing any uglies....Are you going to dock your painter's pay by them taking off in the middle of the job???
Karlene, the bananas are taken care of....In fact, the banana bread (with nuts) is almost half gone...Things like that don't last too long in this house.....I feel bad for you DD...It's hard enough just trying to breath, he sure doesn't need the smoke.....Hope and pray the firefighters get a handle on it quickly.....
Well, my cup of tea is gone and that means, get my shoes on and scoot.....Places to go, people to see and money to spend....Good day!
You all have a great day............

Well, I just found out that I rushed ahead a month when I started the thread this morning. Like I said, I thought it was raining when I woke up. We are still dry no bad winds yet. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Dorothy - David has eaten two pieces out of the banana cake I made and at this rate it will go bad before it is gone.

Well I am back home and just waiting on my little Ethan to arrive. Seems as if Daddy couldn't get him down for a nap until way late in the morning. Just doesn't "have the touch"! LOL
My bookcases arrived and they are beautiful! You can still the smell the fresh paint and varnish - so we will let them cure for a few more days before adding any books to them. There are three cases - set right next to each other - the tallest is 94 inches and the two sides are 86 inches each, spread down the wall 108 inches The wall they sit against is almost ten feet tall - so they are just right! Very pretty red too - just a slight bit of antiquing to tone down the red. Moved the furniture around and still need to put away the cookbooks on another bookcase in the kitchen. WORK WORK WORK!!! LOL Need a nap!!
Hugs
