Wednesday, June 5th

Post by suzette58 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 11:49 pm

Good morning everyone.
Today I am off work. I am going to get my Jacobs Ladder quilt done. I have a question. Remember the 3 quilts I made from my friend's mother's clothes? Well, I can't get ahold of her. I have texted and called her several times and she does not respond. She has always been funny about people just showing up at her house. What do I do? I have thought about just finishing them and sending them to her. What do you think? Have a great day!

Good morning Suzette. Hope you get to enjoy your day off. That's odd that she's not responding back. I would probably just go to the house if it's near by.

I just sewed some blocks for my guilds BOM. Now to write the directions. I got a quilt back from the LAQ so now I need to get the binding and a label and them I'm done with my UFO list for the year.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning all
I am breathing a bit better but the house still has a some smoke smell to it. Another few days and it should be gone and I hope the headaches as well. I don't do very well with strong smells nice or otherwise.
All the Maple Leaf BLocks are done and the Friendship Star is all cut up and ready to sew. Thanks Chriss for the motivation that I could get it done quickly if I set my mind to it ... a little more dust settling won't hurt :) :) :)
THANK YOU VELDA for my SECRET PAL gift - I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!
Now I am off to bed as it is 4:10am. Just never felt tired enough to try earlier.
HUGE HUGS and BLESSINGS!!!!

Good morning, I had a whole post eritten ans it disappeared. Not sure what button I hit??????

headed to DD to babysitt for awhile...then stopping at the card store and picking up cards I have 5 birthday and 3 graduations in the next 3 weeks. We have a graduation party next week and we are keeping the kids for 4 days while their parents go away. 2 granddaughters are graduating one tonight and one next week. their party is in July. I also have the National Quilter Show in Columbus on the 29th, It is a bus trip with my guild. My June calender is so full it is leaking into July. Ever have a month like that,?? We were supposed to go camping for the 4th but decided to stay home...just too much to do.

I opened the dress pattern for Sophia's 3 rd birthday dress and DD of course picked out a dress with a zillion parts and layers...It looks simple from the picture. I need to remeasure her for it when I go there today. I am not a good garment sewer but she wants this dress...I bought a lavender seersucker and the contrast is white. Fabric is pretty but I might have to have my quilting student help as she is a garment sewer,(WAS before I got her hooked on quilting)

Well I really need coffee now...Hope you all have a great day XXXOOO

Good Morning.. it's going to be another hot day here... which means one day closer to ripe tomatoes... woo hoo

Sharona, you can have a cupcake.. Marilyn brought some home.. guess there were just too many goodies and more cupcakes than the kids could eat.... bring your jelly and I'll make breakfast.

Kathy, hope you find a therapist for DD.. maybe the doctor or hospital can recommend someone... prayers for her speedy recovery...glad your also going to be there to help her clean up the apartment.. it always makes you feel better when you are in a clean house...and have your mommy with you...she is blessed.

Karlene.. I have been bitten by the laziness bug too... and I hear there is no cure... you are brave to sew two quilts at one time... glad Victoria and Rich spent the evening with you.. how exciting to have a baby bump...

Cindy.. prayers for your buddies... I think Jerry and I are going to hit the Home Depot and see what we can find.. the flooring we looked at is planks and they fit together with a snap... and there is padding underneath so it's squeak free...

Jana.. you're moving right along on that yard.. I did see the cork flooring... it is pretty, so many different floors to choose from.. I will just be thrilled to get rid of the junky floor I have now.

Maryq.. Jerry will come there to paint if he can bring Marilyn and you get them tickets to ride the rides at YOUR mall...Jelly on ice cream is a great idea.. smart dad.

Chickie.. glad you have lots more Iris.. Ihad a lot of them here but the squirrels dug them up and ate the bulbs... I only have about 4 plants left..

Suzette, does your friend have a family member you can contact? you could try to hand deliver them telling her you would feel awful if they got lost in the mail, and you want to be sure they go directly from your hands to hers...if she seems uncomfortable let her know you can't stay but wanted her to have the quilts as soon as they were done and you'll get together soon.

Lois.. happy food shopping.

Lori, didn't the blocks have directions? no fair confusing me so early in the morning.

Teresa, that's not dust.. it's a protective coating for furniture.. if you remove it the furniture might get scratched... glad you got so much done.. I didn't realize I said something motivational, but every motivational speaker charges a fee.. I'll send you a bill... =D

Judi, the dress will be beautiful... I can't belive that Sophia was just born yesterday and is already turning three, amazing... I must have the same key on my keyboard, I have lost many posts...

today I will go to work and Marilyn and Jerry will get started painting my bathroom.. a very bright yellow... it will be beautiful...sometimes I wish there were only about 15 colors to choose from but there are zillion.. makes choosing difficult.

you all have a super duper day,
Chriss

Good Sunny Morning....

Not much new. I'm going to go out today as I've been in the house to long. I think the PO & gas should be fun. Other than that I'll start the boards on the quilt. Still waiting to find out when I Leave for my DD's.

Suzette.....how strange she has not responded. I hope all ia OK with her. She know where they are so you could just hold them for her or mail them off. How about box them up & leave them at her door?

Lois....hope you find some sewing time.

Lori....Congratulations on finishing your UFOs for the year!!

Teresa.....Good to hear your feeling a better. I have a problem with smoke & a few perfumes. Right now the new bureaus are giving a headache. Have fun with your SS stash.

Judi....WOW!! You are doing more in the next 3 weeks than I do in a Year. Have fun!! I like bus trips the shows. The ride home showing all your goodies. Good luck with the dress.

Well off to dress & open the drawers of the bureau to air them out so I can fill them up.

Love & prayers.....Kathy

Good morning all! I lived thru the month of May! So glad all that craziness is behind me! Gender reveal party, graduation, sewing retreat, training for work & DH's b-day!

We just (June 1) celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary! WOW! That's a long time!

I've been working on Flower Pot by Laundry Basket Quilts. It's a wonderful pattern, very challenging! I've almost got all the blocks done.

Sounds like everyone has been busy. So glad to be back!

Sending hugs & prayers:
Traci

Good Morning Girls

Okay, it's June right? I didn't miss a few months and we headed back in to October? Had to turn on the furnace last nite!! What's up with that! Another cloudy gloomy day here, perfect day for crawling back into bed... only I have to go to work.

Chriss... of course Jerry can bring Marilyn! Oh wait, my house is full.. I could only put them up at a Super 8! Haven't even planted my tomato plants yet, am debating whether to do that or just plant some flowers in my barrel this summer. Tho I do love a fresh tomato from the garden on a BLT!

Judi.... do you remember Gunny Sacks patterns? When Jen was little I made her a couple of those dresses.. Used to sew a lot clothes when the kids were little. Love seersucker fabric. Would love to make some clothes for my little grand daughters as I have some patterns on hand, but gosh.. there's hardly time to breathe around here never mind sew. My windows need washing...wanna come up here for a visit?

Lori... you're done with your UFO"S??? How is the possible??? I have so many UFO's I'll be doing them with my dying breath so I don't leave anything behind when I'm gone!

Suzette... have a great day off! Hope you can get ahold of your LA'er and that she is okay.

Teresa... how's the headache? Did you have fires in your area? Musta missed that. Hope today is a great day for you. I like Chriss's idea about dust...think I'll use that next time I can carve in mine.

Lois...hope you can sneak in some sewing time between the uglies.

Kathy... enjoy your day out of the house. Can you throw open your windows to get rid of the smell of the bureau? There's an old trick too of rolling up newspaper and putting it in the drawers... it supposedly pulls out the smells, or a little baking soda.

Traci.... Happy Anniversary!

Drat, my chat time is up.. time to get ready for work. 4 years and 5 months until I can officially retire! But who's counting?

Have a great great day every one

Good Morning! I'm home! a great trip, I'm so relaxed, but I'm always happy to be home!

SUZ - Is it possible your friend is sick or out of town for an extended period of time? Do you know any of her family you could ask? How far away does she live? I'd leave one more message telling her the quilt is done and you want to give it back to her. Invite her for lunch or coffee on a specific date/time so she can pick it up. And If she doesn't show up, then I wouldn't feel bad about dropping it by unannounced.

JUDI - sometimes I lose my posts, too. But occasionally I can get them back if I hit the back-arrow. The fabric for Sophia's dress sounds really pretty and summery. Good luck with fitting it into your June calendar!

TERESA - I guess I need to go back and finish reading the week of posts I missed to find out what smoke you are living with. And you're right about getting blocks done. When I join a swap or lotto, I always sit down and do my blocks within the first week 'cause you just never know what life can throw at you. I don't want to be caught with my blocks down!

LORI - Congrats on crossing another UFO off your list! What's next??

LOIS - enjoy your day off!

KATHY - so sorry you have to leave your snug house again. But our kids are worth it. Blessings on you for being their for her.

TRACI - you were busy!! Glad May is over for you and we have you back with us! Happy Anniversary!

MARY Q - so happy to have you back! You were comin' and I was goin' so I missed you!

I got our trailer emptied and cleaned yesterday afternoon and all the laundry done. I also hit Trains, Fabric, Etc shop yesterday for their semi-annual 40% off EVERYTHING sale and LOADED UP! I got backings for 5 quilts plus some stash enhancement fabrics. Now the pre-washing starts. And I need to pick up "Stitch" who was at the spa while we were gone. We stopped to see if he was ready to roll and they said no. We got home and they called 3 hours later and said he WAS ready! Grrr!!! It's a 30-mi round trip plus $4 toll. I should probably stop by the fabric shop one more time just to make the trip worthwhile, don't cha think?

I've had a devil of a time trying to post this morning. Even had to get my techie DH involved. Now lets see if he fixed it.

Have a happy day!
mary z
