CHANGE IN DIRECTIONS ******
*** Thanks to Debbie working up the sample block so quickly. She found and I agree that the block looks better if you start with a 9.5" white square in the center. Add the 5" colored squares to each corner of this square by folding them in half to make a triangle, press to get a crease, open and place the square in the corner right side to right side of the fabrics then sew on the crease. After you have added all 4 corners the white center of the square will measure 6.5". PLEASE measure to make sure of the size now and make adjustments before you go on. You will need to square this portion of the block to 9.5" before adding the outer squares. I needed to use a scant 1/4" seam.
**** To make the HST's using yardage instead of 5"sq's - - You will need an 11" sq of White and Color Fabric. Draw a line corner to corner then stitch scant 1/4" on each side of both lines. Place your block in front of you with the stitching making a "X". Cut down the middle and then across from side to side. Then cut on the lines you drew. WaaLaa 8 HST's :) :) :) Hope this helps :)

Each fabric MUST have red, white and blue or a red fabric, blue fabric and white fabric? I am just making sure before I decide yes or no.
Thanks

Hi Debbie - Welcome !!!!
Your block will contain Fab's that have Blue prints, some Red prints and some with all 3 colors like flags or fireworks.

When you watch the video she gives you a close up of some of the blocks. This will give you a good idea of what to use. Some of the blocks have tan stars which is totally OK.
I think I see some Bandanna Fab's in it also.
Any fabs that have the major colors reds and blues dominant are perfectly OK.

If you are still uncertain and want to post a picture of the choices you picked out feel free :) :)
I am sure you will choose GREAT!!!!

As Teresa knows, my son is coming to visit for 2 weeks on June 2 and will be staying until June 17. If I can get some done after that I will join this month. These look pretty simple. Will have to dig deep in the stash though I think for these fabrics.

I'm in for four (4) blocks, maybe more. Fabrics are in the washer now.

Fabrics washed and ready to go. Test blocks made all ready to "rock and roll". Now I must start for the hand of the picker!!!!
