Thanks for the cute picture!! After all the sadness from OK, it is delightful to see that pretty little face.

I want to add my prayers to all of yours. We are watching the Today show and it is just heart breaking. Yesterday, we actually saw a TV weatherman actually have to go off line and take cover. That was the very first time I ever saw something like that happen. You know it was bad.

Hope the best for all concerned.

Good morning.. we are on a cooling trend here.. from the high 90's to the mid 80's... phew, relief..

Sharona, I have never tried rhubarb... but when Jerry's grandma was in the hosp and I was feeding her she looked at me with puppy dog eyes and said... I want rhubarb...someday I will try it...I am amazed at how late you go to bed.. how early do you get up?

Kathy, I have been watching the North America tv show too... another great one is Brain Games... it tells you how your brain is fooled into seeing what it sees and how it doesn't catch so so much info around you.. very interesting.

Maryz.. glad your feathered stars worked out... I so want to get back into my sewing room and play.. also glad about Mr. Snickers.. he must ahve 9 lives..

Cindyg.. looking forward to seeing your blingy tote... happy b-day to DGS... hope there was cake, and that you saved me some.

Karlene..it's great that Victoria got to ba a part of the ceremony for Rich... when my son graduated some of the kids had decorated the tops of their caps so their parents could find them.. I just texted my son and told him to look up... we did get some good pictures..

Sherry, hope the chili was good... what is Bob Evans?

Vicky.. my goodness, wben did she grow up...hope you added a smooch from me during your visit...

Jana.. what is it with boys and dirt.. and they stick it everywhere...

ShirleyMae.. prayers for yoru son and for Rod... it would be nice to be near family... hope you can get out of the lease early...

Teresa, hope the quilt is done soon... and yoru back lives through it.

Suzette, I would take lunch with my son over quilting any day of the week.. my son doesnt' live too far from me but we rarely see eachother.. with work and extra activities he is so busy... but thank heavens for texting and the phone.. such a blessing.. I also cherish what ever face time I get.

Lois, happy camping.. hope you have lots of fun.

Kathy, hope you find the table you are looking for.. my car will probably need 10 hours of cleaning.. I need upholstery cleaner...

Judi, hope you learned your lesson and had a good breakfast today... sorry about your stitches,

Becca, have a wonderful day.

Velda, what a blessing to hear from you... hope others check in today...from here when they show the map of the storm's path it's hard to tell one town from another in Ill..

after 9/11 I saw where Mr. Rogers was interviewed and his advice to kids when a tragedy is on the tv over and over was to look for the helpers... hope our kids see the helpers

Marilyn has completed the first day of her punishment.. she has 30 days of no electronics.. if she sasses or argues after one warning she adds a week, if she behaves for a week she knocks off a day.. it's the same thing I did with my son and he added two weeks on the first day, but finally knocked off some days towards the end.. Marilyn, being a girl, is a little smarter.. she hasn't added any days... I will have a new girl in 30 days...now if I can only get Jerry to not want the last word all the time.. Marilyn will say it's high and he will say it's low.. or it's 6:00 and he will say 6:02... ugh.

hope we hear from some of our midwest buddies today.. I so want to know all is good...

you all have a great day,
Chriss

VICKI - what an adorable picture! After all the tornado news, you certainly know what we needed to see. Oh, those eyes!!

SHIRLEY MAE - Poor Rod. I bet he feels pretty icky. Now not to make comparisons but our Snickers had high calcium levels 3 yrs ago and he had a tiny tumor on his parathyroid gland. They did a new (at that time) procedure called a chemical ablation. It was done under anesthesia and XR and they injected the tumor with a chemical that killed it. Of course, then we had to test his calcium level constantly for a few weeks to make sure that it didn't drop too drastically. But it was a complete success with only a needle prick. No side effects and complete recovery. What happens if your landlord refuses to break your lease and you leave anyway? How much do you lose? My DD would have lost one month's rent and her deposit. But she got someone to sub-lease their apartment when they bought a house last Feb. It sounds as if you could really use your Missouri Support System.

Hi to everyone. Thanks to Riley who kept trying to tell me all night long that it was time to get up and feed the cat, I'm pretty tired. Think I'll just wrap up in a quilt and go sit out on the deck with my coffee and listen to the rain on the roof!

Hope your day is sew fine,

mary z

Good Morning Everyone,

As far as I know everyone in KS is okay we didn't get any storms in our area last night or yesterday. Prayers for all of those in OK. and the rescue people that are there.

Vicky what a beautiful little girl!!

Suzette I watched DWTS last night pretty good. Am anxious to see what happens tonight. Quilte a few 10's given last night.

Doing the Maytag dance this morning, put birdseed out for my birds outside. Re hang my hanging baskets on the Shepard Poles brought them in when it started storming as didn't want the hail/wind to ruin them they are so pretty. I have some plants to get planted today.
Going to try to work in my sewing rm as I have a Pillows to make for my friend that go with her bed cover she embrodiery beautiful flowes on them does nice work.

Have a great day everyone. Prayers for all in need. Teresa take it easy with that back!

Vicky - Jovanna is such a little doll!!! Hope you two had fun while mommy and auntie were off playing.

Sharona - ain't that the truth?!?!?!?!? The devastation is unthinkable.

Jana - I think all kids like to eat things outdoors especially pretty things like flowers. If it looks good then it must taste good, too, right?

Shirley Mae - if I were you I'd probably want to go back home, too, to be close to family. Sounds like y'all need each other.

Teresa - you are so right - our lives can change dramatically in an instant. Enjoy your R-W-B swap.

Suz - I watched most of DWTS last night. Did you watch? I don't blame you for spending as much time as possible with your son. Neither one of my girls lives nearby.

Lois - what do you do in Capemay?

Kathy - you were a busy girl yesterday. How in the world did you get those seats out of your car??? Sometimes it pays to have a pickup. My mind just can't take in all the loss of life and damage from the tornados.

Grammie - I'll be getting ready for camping, too. Tonight I have one load of clothes to take out of the dryer and then I might just get our clothes packed. Tomorrow is grocery shopping and packing food and then we are leaving after work on Thursday. Sorry your class project didn't turn out so good. I know you will figure it out. I'm not too sure what candlewicking is.

Velda - What would you do if one was coming and you were in your RV? One of my worst nightmares is that the wind will pick up my trailer with us in it and set us down in the middle of the lake.

Chriss - I had to laugh at your Jerry - he sounds just like my DH with the 6:02 - LOL. I did save you a piece of cake but you have to come for a visit before you can have it. That was good advice for Mr. Rogers to give.

We have a worrisome situation and could use a prayer or two. My BFF's husband (my DH's BFF) has a mass and a spot on his right lung. It was found on a chest X-ray yesterday. Today he is to have a CTscan and we'll know more. Last night I did one load of laundry and fixed dinner then worked on a couple of my Sunflower Dresden Plate blocks.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning! We received a bunch of rain in the storms, and the pond is almost running out of the overflow in addition to where the dam is leaking. We took a very wet drive in the ATV last evening and looked at the “dry creek”—definitely not dry—a torrent of water rushing to fill Big Hill Lake. It was beautiful where two streams converged and at the two waterfalls… I wished I would have had my camera, but it was so wet… the evergreen boughs were laden with water, bowing down, and by the time the roof and sides of the ATV brushed them and they whipped on me… time to change into dry clothes when we got home.

I am so sorry for everyone in OK!!! I’m also wondering why there was not a safe room in the elementary school… When we built the community center with Federal grant money and volunteer labor, we HAD to include a safe room. It just took a little extra concrete and steel to hold 300 people in a big tornado.

Vicky—she is sooooo beautiful!!! Love the violet over her ear!!! Thank you for that little flower among the flowers!

Shirley Mae—prayers for you all!!! You are right, tornado watches and warnings are a way of life here… There was one a few miles south of us yesterday afternoon. I didn’t hear of any damage…

Judi—Michael Miller fabrics are always nice! So sorry you had such a time with your projects!!! Try breakfast today!!!

I think DH and I are going to go look at some lawn mowers today. All of his push mowers that he resurrected from junk piles should now be considered terminal. It’s time to have a new one! There are some sales around, and he’s always after the bargain…

Tonight I’m going to DGS’s graduation. DH has asked to get out of it gracefully… ha, ha! One this year was enough for him!!! Oh well…

I will try to check back later… Have a great day and stay safe!!! Are the storms moving east now?

Good morning!

Up and have a few of my uglies running and just waiting on little boy to arrive.

So sad, all that has happpened in OK - things in life do turn in a instant - prayers for all of those affected.

It will be a quiet day here - might even see my sewing machine.

Time to go and make some buttermilk panckes - Ethan is here and hungry!
Hugs

I rec'd a message from our Mary Q this morning. Sounds like she is having so much fun! She asked me to tell everyone 'hi'. Seemed the easiest thing to co was to copy/paste her message right here!

"Thanks for the google search!! We found a couple LQS close to Jen's and hit them up. Of course I'm going to have to ship a box of fabric home. Picked up a flat rate box at the PO yesterday and if I get it mailed out today it will be there when I get home.

Jen has an I-phone so we asked "Sirri" for quilt shops and she came up with 8 I think. One was is a gals house, but we didn't stop there, seemed kind of weird. The best one was a place called "Quilt Tree" and I did go a little crazy there.. They had some gorgeous Moda fabric that I couldn't resist, but held myself to just one yard of about 6 different prints.

I checked in SEW IN this morning but there's so much to catch up on I'll have to wait until I get home. Jen's internet is kind of slow.

Tell everyone I said HI!

Mare"

I would have to agree with Ittybittyma, on the things and thanks she gave. What would we do without our first responders? As horrible as things are, they show up and go beyond what is expected. Such a sad,sad time. Prayers to all in need.
It sounds like a move might be the right thing for you. I hope it works out and you can be near friends and family again.
Vicky, what a sweet, lovely child! Thanks for the picture.
Grammiequilts, remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Who has plans for the long, holiday weekend? Anything exciting going on? I don't have any plans as of now.
Tomorrow the lady I've been making the wedding dress for is coming for another fitting. I hope the second dress fits, or at least needs little done to it. I keep reminding myself of the saying, no good deed goes unpunished ! I'm living that one.
It was so nice to get to meet Cindyb this weekend. I love being able to put a face with a name.
Well, back to my chores. Have a good one!
Joan
