Re: Saturday, April 27th
Good morning! We still have drizzle/light rain here. The pond is looking good! Still has several feet to full (running out the overflow), but it looks beautiful!
Our DGS will be in ICU for a day or so, and he is expected to make a complete recovery! It’s truly amazing, and we are so thankful it wasn’t so much worse!!!
DH and I took the dogs out in the drizzle yesterday, and we found a bunch of mushrooms. Odie got to walk on his leash and seemed to have fun sniffing all the wonderful smells that only dogs can.
Pat—we weren’t supposed to have rain after evening, but it’s still drizzling here. Should be over by afternoon. Have fun with DGGS!!!
MaryZ—such wonderful news about your brother’s procedure! Too bad it was written off for so long as “Parkinsons” and not investigated further to see if there could be some relief!
Sharon—Happy Birthday to you!!! Hope it’s full of fun, fabric , friends and family!!! Hey, that’s us!!! I is a great day for you!!!
Mel—that’s a late night/early morning!!! Hope you get some rest while the guys take in baseball tips!
Suzette—I thought the quilts and patterns on the Sewloutions were really neat!
Mary-Rosebud—have a wonderful retreat!
Chriss—I’m so sorry for what your dear grandma is going through and for you!!! HUGS!!!
I need to get busy… I’m not meeting my friend this morning, so I’m going to do my grocery shopping before I visit my mom… I’ll check back in later! Happy Saturday!!!

Good morning!
Got my Saturday uglies done late last night - Matt was here visiting and getting railroad stuff done with his Dad - so I did uglies! That leaves me free to play all day long!!!
I have decided to cut up my smaller scraps of fabric into charm squares and put them in a box and start saving for a scrappy quilt -
Sarah and the boys will be here later this morning to start the yard work - she loves to play in the dirt! LOL
Happy Birthday Sharon!!!
Maryz - so glad that Jim has made such a big turnaround. We dealt with Parkinson's - twice -my mom and DH's Grandpa - no fun! I need to get busy on curtains too - but paint first!
Chriss - prayers for Grandma - you too!
Well need to skip off into the sunrise - breakfast awaits me
Have a great day
Hugs
Jana

Re: Saturday, April 27th
Suz - well, I'll be switched!! We go to New Braunfels every November for the Wurstfest. I'll have to look her up. Glad you enjoyed the trunk show.
Lori - you and me both!!! Need to use what I have and stop buying more!!! I'm very sure you and I are the only ones on here that have that problem. LOL
Chriss - oh, yes, prayers going up. Ninety is awfully old to undergo surgery. How tough is she?
Sharon - HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I'll have a piece of cake today in your honor.
Mary - enjoy your ladies retreat and sewing later.
Mel - Gosh, you stayed up late. I'm glad you didn't fall asleep with your head in the pot of soap!
Chrissy1 - you are so right. Lots going on in the "need healing" department here. But that's one of the reasons we are here for each other.
Pat - gosh, you didn't like the groovy board??? I like them because they are so simple to use. They are great for charity quilts edge-to-edge quilting. Which pattern did y'all use?
Maryz - that's wonderful news about Jim. Now that he can keep food down he'll probably regain his strength and feel so much better. We go to two quilt shops in New Braunfels - is it the one in the shopping center or the one near the square in downtown?
Maryq - oh, I hope the baby waits on you but it's not looking good. You have 12 more days. The baby's head is down and he's ready now. Good luck with that. Really, though, what matters is that there are no complications and he is healthy. Your house with the windows opened sounds refreshing.
Chickie - it's so wonderful about your DGS. When Gavin fell out and was run over by a truck I was go grateful that he was OK but I could have paddled his behind for being careless and not using his head.
Jana - paint what? Is your basement sewing area all fixed up yet?
I'm home lounging in my PJ's still. DH is at work and the dogs don't care that I'm not dressed yet. I have to go pick up my car from the dealership today and the rest of the day I'm free to do whatever. Whatever is another word for sew.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Morning, ladies.
Today I must dish and dash - DH is needing me to hold the ladder for him whilst he makes repairs outside.
Maryz - that is WONDERFUL news about your DB. I am thrilled for all of you.
Miriam - what a blessing that your DGS will shortly be out of ICU. Praying for his continued healing.
Chriss - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'll be praying for her and the family.
Sorry I can't chat with all of you - I'm getting 'the eye' so I better run.
xoxo Sharona

Re: Saturday, April 27th
Good morning.. happy Saturday,
Cindy.. I will talk with marilyn about blinging.. I sent you the binding instructions.. the file was mis-marked.. it's not really a pattern for a hexi purse.. although, I do have that pattern too... very doable.... I was so happy to have my hexi's to work on yesterday, sure made time go by quickly...
Maryz.. prayers for your brothers....bet your flowers are pretty.
Maryq.. I e-mailed you the binding page and also the pattern I have for a hexi purse.. it's an adorable purse.... maybe, since Jen is bored, she would like to take up hexi's...lol...
Chickie.. I am glad I had the right picture in my head of your mom... give her a hug for me...sorry about Cole but will send prayers your way... and extra prayers for his mom too...just read his surgery went well but he is loaded with screws.. so if he uses a metal detector to find treasure will it constantly go off? something for him to ponder...
Sharona, glad it went well with DS's CT scan.. what a blessing.
Scrappy Pat, you hold off on those scraps just yet.. I have over 1,000 to still baste and sew together.. ugh.
Lori, I am in your boat... I did donate some fabric to a guild to make charity quilts but have so much more yet to use up... I am not buying any more till what I have is closer to being gone... I see many scrappy quilts in my future...lol
MaryRose.. I am going to take your "be blessed" statement and make it mine..thanks.. silly maybe but it's just the words I needed...
Mel, if you haven't ordered your chimes yet I think it's the 4th where there is a bigger percentage off...
Scrappy Pat, enjoy your family today.
Maryz, it is hard to be you with all those sewing choices.. glad yoru bro is doing well... enjoy your dinner.
Jana.. I cut up my scraps with leftover fabric as soon as I am sure I won't need it for the project I am working on... I do have a tote of fabric needing to be cut up from before I had this policy in place, and I have a box of fabric with scraps smaller than 2 1/2 inch's...
my grandma is quite a tough old lady, she could easily out do allmost all of us.. at 90 years old, almost 5 foot tall and a weight of 82 pounds she still has it all together.. but she had this stomach problem... they did surgery because she was in pain and ended up removing some of her bowl and quite a chunk of her intestin... her intestin is so small now that any food she eats will likely pass through and she won't get nutrients from it because it won't be in her intestins long enough to be absorbed.... the surgeon wasn't sure she'd make it through last night but this morning the anethesologist called to say she has a breathing tube and very little pain medication and if no more disease comes back she may be ok.. not sure how she will get nutrients... anyway, she is alive now and time will tell... thanks for your prayers....
today I am going to sew.. since grandma has a breathing tube and can't talk, and likely needs her rest.. she had such a day yesterday... I am going to stay home... tonight Jerry, Marilyn and I have a thing to go to, I will check in on grandma but will let her rest....
you girls are really the best, thankyou for your prayers.. nice to have you in my corner.....God Bless
Chriss

Re: Saturday, April 27th
Hi all a quick hello...Prayer fro Chriss gram. I am on DH computer cause my power cord got pack up somewherre.....DD is afraid it got sent with the movers which means it will be a week before I even know. Can you see me panic since I down loaded a zillion things to sew when I got home. I did get my autograqphed copy of El's Kitchen and an order of "glamping" fabric...made up of very girlly camping pattern....going to make some gifties for my camping buddies. From Q/ also a free cute FQ. and my braid pattern....excited to make that one too/ Well back to the grind.......if you leave an untrained man alone for 3 weeks,,,,,,and he is used to you "taking care of him" you come home to a lot of uglies. YIKES but he is so happy I am hime and I missed him terribly. Here's an example/////
Ken: I am so glad you are home
Judi: By the way did you change the sheets while I was gone?"
Ken: Nope didn't need to...Your side is clean and I went to bed clean every night!."
Men you gotta love them....if we thought the way they do we probably would have a lot more time to quilt.....nuff said.
Be back when I can.....Love to all...hope your prayers are answered fr all the things you need. XXXOOO

Re: Saturday, April 27th
OK I have to confess that I lurk most every day. When I saw the birthday wishes from everyone it made me happy and almost cry. I don't post much because of the kids. Time is not mine but I wouldn;t do it any different. 56 feels the same as 55! Of course Cooper and Lucy are excited because of the cake and ice cream!!
Thanks so much again everyone, it means more than you could ever imagine.
Hugs,
Sharon

CINDY - the LQS in the shopping center close to the kitchen shop where we all bought stuff we didn't need. That's the Quilt Haus, I think.
CHRISS - so glad you're gramma is doing as well as she is. So much serious sick/injury going on in our little group. Prayers will continue for the best possible outcome. Is this your paternal or maternal gramma?
JANA - smart to do your uglies early so you can play! I like to 'surprise' myself like that sometimes.
MARY Q - I hope your roomie works out for you. We tried renting our spare bedroom - when we had one - to one of my co-workers once. She never had the rent, but always had other money to spend. Moved into all our rooms, moved OUR knick-knacks to put hers out, and in general started sucking our own personalities out and just took over. We felt we were being pushed out of our own home! She had friends over and let their pre-schoolers play with things in my china closet and we found they'd even been in our bedroom! We finally asked her to leave. She was very angry and left nasty things all over the house for us to find. She lived with a series of other nurses from work, and every one of them (I was the second) asked her to move out within a couple of months. NEVER AGAIN in this house!
CHICKIE - prayers that your DGS has a quick and complete recovery! Tell your mom we say 'hi'! Think of her every night when I use the little pillows she made for us.
SHARONA - watch that ladder! We got ladder stuff happening here today, too.
JUDI - welcome home!! So who trained your DH to be so dependent on you? lol!! I bet he was THRILLED to see you walk in the door!
I got an e-mail from my DD#2 in Austin. Their very special cat died this morning. Autumn, so far, has been unable to have children and this cat was her child. He really was a very special cat (I consider myself somewhat of a cat expert) and she and her hubby loved him with all their heart. but he was very sick and it was time for him to go. But she's hurting. She lost her other cat about 9 months ago. This is the fourth cat in our family to die in less than a year. And our sheltie, Snickers, is on his way out, too. Been a very bad year for our fur-babies!
But now, back to my regularly scheduled curtains! I have all the valances made and the curtains for one (of 6) windows done. I'm closing in on it!

Well, the Jacob's Ladder blocks are done! Now I have to figure out how I want to lay them out. If you need a good laugh here goes. I was out in my studio finishing up my blocks. I was turning around to go back to my machine and two birds flew in my studio and flew right back out but not till I had screamed! Have a great afternoon.

Chriss--my mom is a 20-yr colon cancer survivor! Hope your granny is just as spry when she is 95!!! She sure sounds like a fighter!!! She will have to drink lots of Ensure and have lots of easily digestible calorie-laden foods... That's funny about Cole and treasure hunting!
Cole was moved out of ICU already and into a room. They should be coming home Wednesday or Thursday. At the rate he is progressing, I wonder if it might be sooner! He's a real cutie, and I'm sure he will have all the nurses charmed. I haven't heard about the P.T. yet--how much, etc. Our paramedic son said the doctors told him they had never seen anyone with as many vertebrae in such bad shape walk again. He will be up walking immediately!
MaryZ--I will give mom your greetings! Thank you!!! Cole's injuries are in T-11, 12 to L-4 or 5. He sure has a lot of metal work!!!
I'm off to my sewing room to try to come up with blocks for the cabin swap...
