Yes Billizy, I think this Sew-a-long will be enjoyable. I'm looking forward to September..

Joan, yes please join!!! 3-inch blocks??? You have more nerve than I do, that will be tiny, tiny pieces. The only way I could manage that would be to hand piece. Can't wait to see your blocks.

I don't plan to make all the blocks either. I plan to set my quilt up like the one on page 81. I like the idea of something between each block. I think it will show the blocks better...

Okay then, I will join you. May be 4 inch blocks, still not sure about the size. I am thinking of putting them on point. We'll see......

I've had my book out looking at all the patterns :-) I'm trying to figure out of I make may backgrounds and sashing all black. I think I will. My blocks will have a floating look to them.

Ladies what's your thoughts on this?

vicky I dont think you can go wrong with anything you do:) All your quilts are beautiful and I think this one is going to be on top of this list for you because of the colors you have chosen. I am so excited to see it come together:))

I think I am going to do mine like page 80 picture. I am not sure yet sashing color but it will most likely be an earth tone: brown, crimson, navy Not really sure yet. I will wait until all blocks are made then decide--crazy I know but remember I promised DH I would not buy a stitch of fabric for this quilt. I want to do it without spending a dime LOL

I have lots of fabric to choose from and this definitely will be a scrappy quilt. I need to sort color families a bit though. I have two bins already done and baged into color family scraps and may just pull from them first. :)

Went to an open sew last night at my LQS hoping to finish my black and pink quilt. I started it a couple years ago. Found myself 1/2 square triangle short! In looking for scraps this AM to make another (was really hoping I would just find the one I was missing) I decided this really needs to be a scrappy quilt for me! I am over run with little bits and pieces of this an that. Since the blocks are small, the pieces don't need to be that big. So good bye 1800's (my orignal choice) and hello SCRAPPY!

Ooohhh I just went to the web site Mel posted. That is beautiful.
I haven't received my book yet. Now I'm getting excited.

How does this work? Does someone choose which blocks we do each week?
