Good morning Lois and those that follow.
I got the friend quilt washed and wrapped up for hubby to take it into work. It is for the wife of one of his co-workers. So I am back to my Jacob's Ladder quilt. Today after hubby goes to work out to my studio I go. Yesterday our computer bit the dust. I tried to login here and the keyboard was messed up. So I ran a full scan and it came up clean. Then later in the day I tried it and nothing is working. So hubby and discussed it and decided to just get a new one. The one that died is about 6 years old. So it is probably time. Have a great day everyone.

Lois - have you explained to Olivia how important a stash is? It took me a while for my family to understand. Have a great day.

Lois- they (family) tell me I have a lot of fabric too. I don't think I have all that much....
Suzette- sorry about the computer. I'm waiting for ours to die to. Cant be long we've had it about 6 years too. My husband and kids got together and built it. In other words it all came in pieces and they put it together. I didn't have much faith the thing would work but they proves me wrong.

Today is a busy day for me. I have exercise then to my MIL. I have to interview an aide. That's always fun.

I haven't gotten back into my sewing room. We went from church to Tia and JR's and had supper with them and I help her do dishes. She had a LOT of to do. She is just so tired and it's hard for her. I may change and start going to her place on Wednesdays to help her out. Little Jovanna keeps her hopping so if mom came to help for one day a week that would be a big help to her.

Have a great day,
Keep looking up!

good morning.. I went to bed at 7pm last night, I just couldn't get warm.. I had three quilts plus the bed spread and still took a while to warm up...

Wednesday my beginning quilting class starts.. I really am excited about it... maybe I will learn how to cut and sew properly.

Judi, I think the thing I love most about hexi's is that they are so easy to stick in a bag or small tote and take along... I didn't think I would like hand work but I am loving it...

Sandy, what got me hexi hooked was a little kit I got at a quilt show, it was just for one flower... and it was fun and addictive...

Lori, my hexi's are in stages.. I have just the 2 1/2 inch charms ready to be basted to the papers. I have hexi's either sewn into pairs or waiting to be sewn into pairs, and I have a hunk of them sewn together to make my quilt top...

Maryz and Kathy, hope the family is doing well....

O'Dorothy, hope you're doing well too.

I'm off to figure out what to have for lunch, you all have a groovy day.

Good Morning,

LOIS - what fun to share your passion with your DGD!

SUZ - my condolances on your computer. It just seems that something so spendy shouldn't go to computer heaven so soon!

VICKY - congratulations on your weight loss! Tia is so lucky to have a mom like you. When is the new baby due? Do we know if it's a boy or a girl?

CHRISSY - have you heard from Kathy recently?

CHRISS - did you ever warm up? I like hexies, too, but every time I try do any handwork, my eczema flares up. So my tiny hexies are set aside, as is my cross-stitch, while I battle my way through a dozen embroidered Christmas blocks for my DD. I'm on #3.

My brother's report this morning is unchanged from yesterday - still on ventilator. Maybe today there will be a change. My sis is still on crutches and still here. Her hubby is driving from CO to be here with family and then later to drive her home. Right now life sort of revolves around them. I did try to sew on my cabin swap blocks yesterday and sewed them all wrong, but didn't discover until after I did all my trimming. and I wasted a bunch of my special roof fabric. Guess my mind was somewhere else.

Today we are off to Costco to get a few things and have passport photos taken. We're taking my sister along to give her an outing that isn't in a hospital, though we'll go back to the hospital this afternoon. and I think I'll break out a jigsaw puzzle for us all work on. So you can see, we have big plans for the day.

Did anyone see the Northern Lights last night? I fell asleep too early, though we probably were too cloudy.

Wishing everyone a day of blessings!

Good Morning Girls

Happy Monday... and I only say that because I have tomorrow OFF! Winter is full on us again... it's only 33 degrees out and I can hear the wind blowing big time! When will it end???

Had a fun weekend with Miss Evie... she did really well here on her own, kept herself entertained with the stuff animals she brought and her dolly. We watched a move "The Swan Princess" and had Taco's for supper--that girl does love her sour cream! She only got a little sad at bedtime and missed her Mommy and Daddy. I did manage to sew a little doll dress for her AG doll. After I met my son to take her home I came home and finished up my last Lotto block and started quilting Kayla's quilt while the laundry was running! That's on my to-do for tomorrow--finish that up and do the binding.

Lois... how great that Olivia is learning to sew making quilts! When my kids had home ec. they made a pillow! You did tell Olivia how important it is to have a stash of fabric on hand at all times, because you just never know when the light bulb will go on to make some special project!

Vicky... sorry to hear that Tia is so tired...and it's hard to rest with a little one running around! When is she due? Congrats on the weight loss... I can lose 2 lb over the weekend because I don't eat much... but during the week it's always a struggle. One of my co-workers keep a candy dish full of chocolate!

Suzette... sorry to hear your computer crashed. The one I had a while back got the "blue screen of death" so I had to run out and get a new one! I'm lost without my computer. It does seem like they should last longer than 6 years tho, but with all the technology a 6 year old computer is almost out of date!

Maryz... went to bed last night thinking of your brother with prayers for good results for him today. Way too cloudy here to see the northern lights.

Chriss... If you are cold in CA with extra quilts.. you'd never survive up here! I keep an afghan on my bed and when it's really cold I snuggle up with that too. I did google hexi's but am still confused about them. Probably shouldn't start another project anyway! I watched a Tutorial on making tote bags with charm squares, so sat and played with some of my spare charms last nite. Am thinking they would be cute for another little charity project I have in mind.

Chrissy... hope your day stays nice! Is the sun Shining? Send some back here to MN please!

Well girls, my computer time is up. I'm on the count down to vacation. 24 more day! Jen is having some Braxton-Hicks contractions and feeling pretty tired. Only 4 weeks to go! She goes to the Dr every week now. They want to do another ultrasound to make sure his head is down. I just hope he waits til I get there!

Have a great day everybody

Lois - is it the final Dallas or just the final episode for the year?

Suz - sorry your computer died. The bad thing is that the one you buy today will be obsolete 6 months from now. Technology is so speedy.

Vicky - congrats on your 10 lbs. I'm sure Tia would love to have you one day a week.

Chrissy1 - good morning. Have a great week.

Chriss - were you running fever last night. It's easy to take along needle-turn applique, too, and so much more rewarding! ROFLOL I can't wait for you to take your first class. We need to hear all about it.

Maryz - so sorry about your hands. That must be so aggravating. Why is your brother on a vent? Is he awake? How much longer will your sister be there? Breaking out a puzzle would be fun. I love to do puzzles. I do them on line all the time.

We had a very relaxing weekend at the lake. I got some needle-turn applique done. Sue and Kenn came to visit for a few hours on Saturday evening and that was fun. So tonight I'll be doing laundry. Thank goodness we still have taco soup to eat so I won't have to spend time fixing dinner.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Maryq - sorry about typing all over you. You have a whole month to wait...I hope the baby stays put until you get there but if you aren't there for the birth, you'll be there to help Jen out wh en whe needs it most. We have 18 days left until we leave for Atlanta - I'm getting antsy.

Good morning, good morning!
I can't believe it is Monday already. We started in the high 30's but are supposed to be up toward 70 deg. today! (Maryq - I am so sorry you are still in winter. We did have a few flakes fly here yesterday morning, but nothing of consequence. I hope spring comes this week for you!) We went downtown Sat. am. for the American Heart Assoc.'s walk. We walked with the team in memory of our friend, Gary, who died last July. His wife and kids are doing so well; I really stand amazed.

I have a couple quilt tops done and a few flannel tops almost done except for a little applique on top, and then I will have a sandwich party. I'm going to use my big roll of poly batting for the flannel quilts as that seems to 'beard' more, and will not show as much on flannel. I remember the first time I found bearding on a quilt top - it almost made me cry.

Maryz - continued prayers for your brother and for the swelling to go down.

Jodie - I'm glad telling your mom went well and that that burden is off your shoulders. You are finding the positive things to focus on.

Kathy - if you are peeking in, we still have you and Kim in our prayers.

Chriss - are you okay? Hope you were not chilled because you were coming down with something.

Cindyg - glad you had a good weekend at the lake and got to visit with Sue.

Well, onwards and upwards,
Karlene
