Re: big star question
Glenda.. it is a pretty block... have you looked at quilters cache? I can't find any as big as you're looking for...
it looks like the inside of the carpenters star... Lois (fabricgirl) has made some of them... ask her what size the center is and if she can give you some ideas of how much fabric you'l need.

You can go to Missouri star quilt co. and go to tutorials and find big star it's about a 10 minute Video its on you tube That's probably easiest way to find it It uses 10 inch layer. Cakes to make it Jenny is the lady showing how to make it. The finished block is about 25 inches I'm wanting to buy auburn university fabric to make it and it will be sold by the yard I want to make a king size quilt as this is where our daughter graduated from its for her birthday. Re: big star question
Glenda--how many 10" squares does Jenny use for her star? You can figure your fabric needs by thinking you get four 10" squares across the fabric and 3 10" squares along the selvedge in a yard of fabric... 12 ten-inch squares per yard... Compute how much you need that way...
If you need more than 12 squares, remember that you have 6" left in the yard on the next row of 4 squares...
Does this help?
