Question??
I have been doing quilts off an on for about 6 yrs. The last one was a flop and I'm going to start a lap quilt for mt grandson, so Inhaveba question before I start.
1- I use a iron after each new fabric is this alright by iron I press it flat. So can anyone help?

I press often. You just have to have a 'light hand' to avoid stretching the fabrics - especially if there are bias edges.

I lightly press fabrics together before I begin sewing. This helps to hold the fabrics in place as I sew. And I press each seam. I iron each block when it's done and then I square it up. And like Ann said - a light hand and watch those bias edges so you don't stretch them. I almost always use steam but many don't. That's a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for information but I another question I'm doing a quilt in plaids and the material revels lot can anyone give me any ideas? I have tried Alene's stop fraying but I don't like it it dries stiff but my husband did a steach and it's came up with spray starch I'm going to give it a try to see
