I'm in. I went looking and found I have the book Birds in the Air. Believe me, ladies, I need detailed instructions so the book is always helpful to me.

I love all the pics already posted! beautiful work

Now I just need to go through my stash looking for fall colors.

I will get started this weekend. Gives me something to look forward to.

I loved Purrfect-lady's poem. I want to print it out and put it on the wall by my sewing machine!

Teresa - you shop like I do. I NEVER pay full price for anything! 60% OFF is a great deal for a book. I always get coupons for JoAnn's and use them mostly on tools and books! You can never have too many rulers, books, etc. El definitely has the easier way to do everything.

I made 2 test blocks today and they turned out rather bad! My bird side of the square was too small and I swear I squared the birds up correctly.

I am going to make more to see if I can get them the correct measurement. Luckily, I have plenty of fabric haha.

I can't wait for Oct 31st when all these beautiful birds will be in Teresa's "coop", ready for sorting and flying out again! Only have to wait 17 more days!!

Well, I've made 10 blocks and most measure 6 1/4". This block may just not be my cup of tea, although I do like it.

I'll sit this one out. I can't spend any more time trying to get them to 6 1/2". I need to start working on a quilt for my nephew for Christmas.

So sorry.

Awww Debbie - I am sorry to loose you. How are your points? Do you see them? If not then it could be your 1/4" seams might be to big? If you made them smaller you should be able to pick up that missing 1/4".
