thread tail to long

any ideas on how to adjust the tail length after the thread auto cuts it it is a babylock espiree i have had this problem ever since i had it serviced last fall the tails are about 3/4 of a inch long or possibly longer if it wasnt so dog gone far to take it back to dealer i would have already done it but i end up having to trim the tails when i am quilting because it looks so bad didnt know if there is any adjustment i could do are just bite the bullet and travel the 100 mile trip and go back to dealer thanks for any help anyone can give me
