Applique Cup Cakes closed sent
Starts January 10th Due March 10th. I would love to have you all participate.
This fun swap should be really quick and easy. It is for 25- 8 1/2 inch appliqued cupcake block. There are many free patterns out there or you can just make up your own. You can just do a fusible ironed on applique, with a machine satin stitch finish. You don't have to hand stitch if you don't want to.
Plain light colored background or if you like you can use fabrics that have cupcake theme for the backgrounds as long as it doesn't dominate. No muslin though.
You may use glitter and metallic if you like.
I would like the cupcakes to be bright pretty colors.
Pre-Wash all fabrics before cutting.
Good quality,100% Quilting Cotton
Make 25- 8 1/2 " blocks
Don't square up your blocks
You may do 2 sets as long as they are different, for 2 quilts, as long as you are the type of quilter to get them done within the first month.
If you have any questions about the requirements please ask.
I require that you pm your phone number and email address in case I can't get a response from you on here.
Please just send the $6.00 for return shipping. I have the padded envelopes, that will include tracking for USA, or However much for International for the priority envelope to be shipped back. Also make sure to attach your user name, real name, and where you are from, to the back of each block. Put your blocks in a ziplock bag with your return address on it. Your blocks need to be in my sewing room by March 10th. I will sort blocks and mail back soon as I get all the blocks.
Now for the tough part: If you fail to follow through in any of my swaps you will not be allowed to join my next swap and if you fail to follow through on 2 of my swaps, you will not be able to join any of my swaps. Chriss and I are sharing lists and keeping track also. So please be responsible and considerate of the others, and don't make me have to take such drastic action. If you take a spot, it is a commitment!! Thank you.
Here are a few websites to get you thinking. Please keep in mind we are doing an 8 1/2 block so if you need to adjust sizes of cupcakes from these patterns.

Oh this looks like a truly FUN one and I wish I could right now but ...
* the Christmas Swap Blocks due by the End of September and
* SECRET SANTA Starting and wanting to make my Elf really feel Loved
I just don't think I could really do a good job on 25 of these blocks and with them needing to be FINISHED and DELIVERED to you by November 15th there is just no way to do it.
I know that time will really start flying faster between now and Christmas and I don't want to commit without being totally sure of it.
Do you think you can put this off till the first of the year? I know I can't speak for others but for me I sure would appreciate it and would be ALL in. My DD is a master at making cupcakes and I know she would love to have a quilt like this. Just a thought
SUPER HUGS!!!!

Teresa- I may put this off till after the first of the year if I don't get enough signed up now. I thought this would make a cute gift for Christmas for the cupcake lovers, but we will see how it goes.

ya know... this would be a great block to swap for a SS gift... not saying i'm in yet.. I'm still thinking aobut it....but it would be a great "quilt kit" for a SS gift if you threw in some sashing and binding... and maybe even a spool of thread...

Vinae...
How cute would that be! Not being one for applique, it would sure stretch my limited abilities... would love to give it a try!
BUT>... my TO DO list is quite long so I dare not start another one! After the 1st of year... would be GREAT... would even make great Valentine gift idea!! How cute would it be with a lot of pink and red!
I'll check out the websites you posted and see if I can find/make templates... I am kind of anxious to try but..... better finish up a few other projects first.!
What a cute idea!!!

Thanks for your input. I was thinking it would make a great throw for a Christmas gift, but if it is too much for everyone to do before the holidays, I will wait till Jan and try then. I was hesitant to try one now, but I thought it would be so easy that we could fit it in. I think Chriss has a great idea with making it a kit for a SS gift. I also like Mary's idea about getting done for Valentines. But in order to get it done by Valentines, we would have to start it sooner than January. Something to think about. Well I will just wait and see if we have enough interest and go from there. Thanks everyone and keep posting or sign up.

Thank you sew very much Vinae for being flexible on this swap. I look forward to starting it in January.
But then again I think if I can find the time here and there throughout the holidays I might be able to sew a few blocks. Time will tell...
If you change the sign-up by date in the title to start after the holidays you might be able to see who would be interested. You can add me.
