Building a Quilt Display Wall

Post by dexter444 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 11:33 am

I bought special felt like fabric from a quilt book but it is 46" wide by 108" long. It's basically too short width ways and too long length wise. I was thinking about buying foam insulation board and pinning or gluing it to that but the size won't be big enough... I can buy more felt fabric (is that the best one) at the sewing store if necessary. But what size should make it? Is a foam insulation board 8 foot x 8 foot? Any help would be appreciated. And how to make it best.

I just use the vinyl with the flannel back and tack it to the wall. I bought it at Joann's for 3 or 4 dollars a yard.

a vinyl table cloth with flannel on the back works just as well...

if you attach it to something will you be able to fold it up and put it aside? I tack mine to the wall and take it down when I don't need it and fold it up.

And I just nailed up two yards of 72" felt I bought with a coupon at Joann's.

The foam insulation board I saw at Home Depot is 4' x 8'. I am buying 2 sheets putting them together, then trimming to fit my wall. I have 8 foot ceilings but, I also have baseboards & crown moulding, so that takes a few inches away right there. I think I also want a little wall to show around edges of design wall. I bought 108" white flannel for my wall.
