Those are great blocks Sally - sorry to read about that darn car! They will always break at the most inopportune time!
I am will - that is a promise get caught up soon - have to make a quick - not so fun trip to California - FIL is not doing well and this will probably be the last time we see him - sad, but he has lived a long and very useful life.
So after this week I can sew again!

quiltitnan (Nan?)
You can send email to QIAD and ask aout resizing Cactus bloom if it's giving you problems (on the other hand, I thought you made it smaller on purpose--love your block just the way it is!)Looked like you used the 6" applique on the 12" block--thought it was very clever of you!
Bad news on the car--needs a new engine, oh well.
Waiting for my pattern so I can do the Fruit block (Crown of thorns....)

Hi Sally, got my pattern emailed yesterday...aw sorry about your car. I might make the right size and use this one for a pillow...I think it kind of looks out of place because it doesn't fill up the background. Have a wonderful day, Bev

the october video is up at vimeo.com--aparently it's been there for a week, so you can watch it there or it should soon be in the theatre. El talks about next year's BOM--interesting.

watched the video! Wish I could have tried that smoothie! I really like the checkerboard border but I'm sure the Pork & Beans or applique ones are also nice so will wait until next month before deciding. Hope to get both 12" and 6" tops together with the sashing before class in Nov. ready for borders! (back to May instructions!)
in 2010 and 2008 we had individual patterns--in fact in 2008 it was 'Calendar quilts' and we made seasonal quilts every month. I wanted to do a sampler so made an individual block each month as well as the quilt a month (had to re size the Christmas Star and design a block for Memorial day--El had dne au Uncle Sam which really would not have worked!) I called my sampler "A Year With El". The extra blocks I designed, "In Flander's Field", replaced Uncle Sam and the dimensional pumpkin replaced the wall hanging and placemats we did for Halloween. Thought you might want to see:

forgot--did snowflake too (like when we were kids--fold paper and cut, since we did a Feb quilt in Jan I needed to add a Jan block)
