My friend is here visiting from KY and so far we have enjoyed our time together. Our daughters got off yesterday tot he Steam fest.

Today I have to go to my mother in laws, I'm hoping things are going pretty smooth there and I won't have to stay over my time.

I hope you all have a good day.

Keep looking up!
Vicky

Morning......

Chriss...Natalie Portman was wonderful in Black Swan. We didn't care for the move because it dragged & was too slow. It was hard to tell if Lily was her dark side or a real person.

Maryz....I'm sure it's lots of work but your yard is beautiful.
My quilt has 2 regular style boarders.

Well I'm off for work and after I need to stop and pick up produce.

Happy Quilting.....Kathy

What a beautiful day! Much cooler and dryer...almost like Fall.
We're off to the showgrounds this morning to finish up. I have to hang the curtains in the log cabin and finish filling the shelves. We went to Kroger's last night and bought the watermellons for Friday and Saturday's "dessert". And the stuff for Friday's dinner. And a bunch of lemons...24 of them! lol!

Well, hopefully, I'll be back on here this afternoon..unless Randy, my son, takes my monitor before I get a chance. It will go to the old schoolhouse to run the slideshow.

Everyone have a great day!!

Joanne

LOL Jo and Earl will meet us there, I plan on taking my laptop and camera. I finally got photos loaded on to the computer last night late but was too tired to transfer them here. Might try to do that today. I had lemons drying last niught so I will finish them up yhis morning, I got a large bag of small lemons for 1.50 yesterday and decided to dehydrate them for winter. the house smells good too. 2 more rows to sew on the purple quilt today and it will be ready to LA. My sis is refinishing her floors so I cannot get there to LA the tops(now numbering 5) but fall will be the time to do it. too many other projects to do now. have a great day....BB:

Good morning everyone. We are back from our mini vacation, and it was WONDERFUL.
I need to as a quilt lovers question. While we were in Mass. I came upon a basket quilt top. You could see where at one time it must have been a tied quilt. It is really beautiful. The white of the fabric is some spots is as thin as tissue wrapping paper. I will be asking my long arm quilter to assemble it for me, but what is the best way to reinforce the top? Do I just put it in Lorean's hands (she is a wiz) do I do something to it first. We had such a special trip and visit with the Fran and her husband in Mass. then to the ocean with hubby that I would like to strengthen and preserve this quilt top the best way possible.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful few days while I was away. I intend to catch up real soon.
Caroline, Fran and Mike just LOVED that table topper and it matches their home perfectly, thank you.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to one and all
Judi I hope that headache goes away soon
Kathy have a super day

Good morning, good morning!
It feels like the humidity has dropped this morning so the sauna effect is gone. The postman told me it is supposed to stay in the 70's - my kind of weather!

Sharona - So glad you found your book! Did you wake up your DH? I hate that when I know I put something somewhere so I would remember where it is and then can't find it for the life of me. But all lost things eventually turn up!

I sewed to rows with the butterfly motif last night. It is not great, but not bad. I have a hard time moving through the 'blind' spots.

Have a great day,
Karlene

Lois - every time I read that you are having a short day I get jealous!

Vicky - I hope your trip to your MIL's goes smoothly. What's a Steamfest?

Kathy - have an easy day with those babies.

Joanne - is there a reason why you can't just leave the curtains hanging? Fall weather???? I am so envious.

Grammie - wish I were going to Mama's Grill, too. Y'all will have fun. What does one do with dried lemons? I bet your house smells like Pledge.

Chriss - I felt a whoosh as you ran thru here - LOL.

Chrissy1 - I wouldn't begin to know how to restore that quilt. There are people who do that. I've seen their ads in the back of quilt magazines. Is this quilt still sandwiched together and bound? Now that I think about it you might be able to cut white pieces to cover the worn ones and then applique them on top.

I'm at work - UGH. I sure could have slept in this morning. Must be the heat. I dread getting out and about in it. I know some of you have an e.reader. What kind? I want one that can be read in bright sun light. My DH told me he was getting me one for my birthday and asked what kind I want. He has until Nov. - LOL. Doesn't he know that I'd rather have the cash for the Houston quilt show??? I can't tell him that though because he thinks he came up with a brilliant gift idea for me. Y'all know how it is. Got to get busy.

Y'all fondle some fabric today.
