machine tension
I have an older elna machine that has always worked well. Now it wants to sew and let the bottom thread show on the top. Tried adjusting everything. Not that long since it was serviced but I am thinking I will take it back to the shop. I am thinking that maybe the tension wheel will have to be changed. Anhy ideas of what to try before that?

Have you put a new needle in lately or have you changed the brand of thread, either in thebobbin or on top? Just a suggestion

Sometimes rethreading the machine-top and bottom works for me.

Did all the above and more. Might be the feed dogs don't like the backing material. Finished for now. Trimmed and ready to put on binding.

Re: machine tension
Once I got my machine back from being serviced and it didn't sew right. I took it back and turns out the tech forgot to replace one teensy little, though apparantly significant, part. So, if you can't get it to straighten up and sew right then I'd definitely take it back where you had it serviced.
