HELP- I made a cut in a un-finished top
I was at Shannon's tonight helping her with a wall hanging. I clipped a thread and cut the background fabric, How DUMB can I get. Anyway I took some heat bond and fused it to the back of scrap and then fused it to the back of the block. Because it's a wall hanging do you think it will be ok? I feel terrible. This is the second mistake I have made on something of hers in the last two weeks!!! I'm losing my touch or something!!!!!

It probably will be. Post a pic and see if we can spot it.

If it doesn't look good to you, may consider putting a small applique shape over it that goes with the theme of the quilt. That's what I did when my puppy pulled apart the seams on a quilt that I couldn't match back up - put on a small heart applique and it gave it a whole new look.
Hope that helps.

As I was cutting away the stabilizer I nicked the fabric next to the appliqued heart. I was just sick! But I put a little bit of fabric on the backside and did a tiny tiny zigzag over the cut. You couldn't see it one bit and I was so happy... until I saw the next one that had been nicked... but it worked again. lol.

And I thought I was the only one who did something so clumsy. I was cutting the quilting threads and got the scissors turned sideways. It made an arrowhead shaped cut. I had to take out a couple of inches of quilting but I was able to put some fusible inside . It was on the backside, whole cloth and a solid color, so it was even harder to hide!! I hope it holds up over the years.
