Can I use that light one for bakcground fabric or go with something more off whitish? It almost looks yellow so I'm thinking I should go for off white!

Hi Mary -
I love your colors. They are perfect.
Hmmmm. I see 6 colors and the white in the background. I believe we were going for a cream background in any texture to accentuate the Fall colors. The off-white or white I think would be to bright.
I can't quite tell how creamy the 2nd one in from the left is but if it comes close to cream then by all means you may use it.
Trying to be politely tactful here. Hope I succeeded.
Question for you or anyone? Has anyone figured out how much fabric we would need to make all the blocks so far?
Happy Stitchin'

How pretty, Mary. Those place nice together, and more importantly any of them will play nice with my fabrics, too!
I can't wait on this one... Cause I know I'm going to win blocks! I like these everyone's a winner games.
And I love batiks.

Oh dear!!
the light stuff behind all the pieces of batiks is actually batting!!! I have a quilt laid out on the floor ready to pin!!! That's onen of my zillion projects to do today! I'm thinking the yellow one, while it's pretty and all, won't show up well with cream background, but I'll probably try it anyway! Will have to dig through my stash for some cream color--or darn it's another trip to the quilt shop!
Later:
Found some cream in my stash YIPEEE! Got 3 blocks done--man they sure go fast--at least after you get the 1/2HST's done! I had ordered just 1/2yd cuts and got 3 blocks out of a 1/2 yd with a few little scraps left over!
Put a pot of chili on the stove and now it's time to crash and fold some laundry while I see what's on TV!

Re: MapleLeaf Swap - Marcy?
Hi, my batiks came today or I should say some.....see I just couldn't decide so I bought way more then I need LOL I bet you I end up with enough that I don't make any 2 alike....oops not true cause some are not fall colors LOL I'm looking forward to doing these but I think I will start on my seeds of time flannel quilt this next week
) I have to do that while it's still cold weather
) I have to get ink for my printer so I can print out the pattern before I can do the maple leaf or else take my computer into my sewing room. Very nice to see a few more
) maybe we can get up to 20 at least?
) That would be cool.

I am planning to start on mine next weekend when the guys are snow camping. I sit that trip out as I see no reason to go freeze myself for a night. This is going to be a gorgeous quilt when done.
