I just noticed that the meet and greet in not at the same time as QIAD's classes! Darn, I really wanted to attended the meet and greet but don't think I will be driving there twice. Especially since there will be so much traffic there at that time. : (

Am still thinking about this one.. This will definately get me out of my comfort zone as I'm normally not much for batiks or those colors. But seeing the quilt all done---well it's inspired me. So very pretty when it's all put together.
Maybe I can get DD Jen (petunia11 here at the forum) to join me... Between the two us we could really have a couple awesome quilts. I'll talk to her about it and maybe the two of us will join.

Maryq, LOL I didn't think I liked batiks very much either till I saw that quilt and fell in love with it ) I'm soooooo looking forward to doing this swap!
I just realized this month makes it 1 year since I started quilting! YEAH! I've been having sew much fun!)

Mary I was like you also but have come to realize that all Batiks are NOT the same. I was blessed by 2 very special ladies who sent me some different style of Batik fabric to make the last Maple Leaves blocks (I made 9 blocks).
After making those I did some research every time I went to a store and found that there are many different styles of Batiks. I like the softer more blended ones so I look for sales. I like the Connecting Threads ones that are down lower in the Batiks page. Beautiful Fall colors, nice feel to the fabric and at a very awesome price.
