Looking for a pattern

Post by quiltingangel »

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know of a Christmas pattern that can be made into a 12 inch block. I am thinking of a Santa face or anything Christmas. This would only be for one 12 inch block. I have a little hanger that holds a 12 inch block. For Halloween I made a pumpkin and a small witch. Thanks for any ideas.

I, too, need to make a Christmas block for my outdoor flag..I'm thinking about just free hand sketch of a tree...applique it on and embellish it with buttons or something...and maybe a package wrapped underneath. And I'm going to check out the Quilt in a Day Christmas books for ideas, too. I love to do applique and there are lots of patterns in El's books! I'm anxious to hear others ideas, too!

also for designing your own - find a child's coloring book with large pictures - you can trace them for your shapes - all different seasons etc - just remember to add seam allowances if you are doing hand applique or just the actual size if you are doing the easy fusible kind of applique.

Thank you all so much. I did find what I was looking for on Quilters Cache. All ideas were great and I am sure I will try them all at some time.
