15. Some tidbits of info about me: I taught elementary school for about 26 years before changing to my current job as a supervisor at Walt Disney Travel Company. I have two grown children, both married, and I have 1 granddaughter who will be 6 months old at Christmas. My husband and I are just beginning a kitchen remodeling project, but we love to see movies and plays (especially musicals) when we have the time. I have been sewing since I was about 7, but just began quilting about 4 years ago.

I have a 43 year old daughter who is handicapped and lives on her own. I have been married for 46 years.

I began seriously quilting 30+ yrs ago. I worked as a child care provider for many years and then became a Head Start Teacher and then an Assistant Director of a Head Start Center. I retired from caring for other peoples children and started my own quilting business. My favorite things to make are purses, totes, wallets, table runners and wall hangings. I have 3 daughters, 2 grandsons and a cat that belongs to DD#3 who is living with us, working and going to college. I belong to a quilting group that makes charity quilts for chemo patients and enjoy getting together with them once a week.

At the start of 2012 I began participating in a local Farmer's and Artisans Market weekly where I sell some of my quilted items and I make custom ordered quilts, memory quilts and pillow covers. I also recently had a quilt pattern published in a leading quilting magazine. So my life is busy doing lots of what I love, quilting.

I homeschooled my kids through high school. We traveled for 3 years in an rv with 1 dog, 2 adults, 3 kids, and 4 cats. I now work in the fabric and craft dept (which will soon be closing like the rest - the fabric part - not the store) of a major retail chain.

Applique is not my favorite thing to do. When I do applique, I try to use El's method with the iron on interfacing.

15: A little info about me: I am retired from a local newspaper. My job there was building ads (on the computer). I have been married 50 plus years. We have 3 children...2 boys, 1 girl. They have given us 5 Grands and 2 Great Grands. I have been quilting many years but have had more time since I retired. I enjoy reading and sewing and I do alterations (Mainly hemming slacks or jeans UGH) to help fund my quilting habit. Also have played the piano at church for many years. I have an 803 Bernina I purchased in the late 70's (Top of the line at that time)So far it is still doing everything I ask of it.

I have lived in South Alabama most of my life except for the 10 years my DH was in the Coast Guard.

I like getting 2 or 3 coordinating fabrics that look great together and make great table toppers or placemats. I love Christmas fabrics

5. Fabric style(s) I don't like: dont care for reproduction civil war or college fabrics not big on wild patterns either

9. My favorite candy: besides carmels plain or chocolate covered, cinnamon, root beer barrels, or butterscotch drops, at christmas time I love the brachs taffy that has little trees in it surrounded by red and white that is WINTERGREEN or CINNAMON flavored not the peppermint

I have only been quilting for about 3 years so I am fairly knew at it... this year I actually finished a king sized quilt for my nephews wedding gift I was pretty proud of myself... got a lot more UFO's. update - took me several months but I did a king size sampler quilt for my daughters wedding gift.
