Hi Jacquie

we will start after the first of the year...

the blocks will be red, white, and blue and represent your state...

we will make one for each person to sign up.

hmmm...since there are so many Calif gals can we choose a state where we used to live or where someone special in our lives lives now? I was born in Texas and my daughter lives (too far away) in Massachusetts.

Carolyn...since there are so many from Calif I think it's a wonderful idea to pick another state to make.

maybe even list the states and choose from there....

whatever you all want to do works for me....

the number of blocks we need to make depends on the number of sign ups there are....

here is what I am thinking and I want your feedback before I start this swap....this will be the first swap I have ever hosted so please let me know what you all want...

I would like to see nice red, white and blue...like the flag... the white will be white on white or Kona white... which ever the block maker prefers.... and nice fabric... nothing see through and no muslin.

the blocks should be 12 1/2" unfinished... please don't square up your blocks...

since there are more than one person from each state maybe some could do blocks that have to do with the state.... California has a few differnet blocks... one is called California, one is rocky road to California and there is also the Golden Gate, and maybe others... so that we don't have more than one from the same state do you want to mix it up or just have more than one block with the same name ( did that make sense?).... or pick another state... i could list the states and we could pick and choose????

I also need to know what time frame you all want... there are a couple of sew alongs starting up and I don't want anyone to feel stressed.... and I do want this to run smoothly so if you all give me suggestions of start and finish dates I would appreciate it...

with that in mind, how many are interested?

I'm in!!!!!! I'd like to make the Ohio Star.

I think we should stick to making just one pattern of block for all the participants. That would make it simple for Chriss and for us. If we did more than one block pattern, it would limit the options for others in our state.

Maybe we could just post the block we would like to make...first come, first pick.

About dates, I don't have any suggestions other than after the holidays...

This will be FUN!!!!!

Joanne
