How to reuse garment fabrics
I just inherited a very large box of 100% cotton "scraps" some of which are blouses, dresses, etc. They are a very good quality and would make a great scrap quilt if I knew how to recut them. Any suggestions. Thank you for your help. Joyce

Re: How to reuse garment fabrics
I would suggest that you cut them up into the biggest pieces that you can get out of the garment. That way you don't limit yourself in the size you can use in a block for a scrap quilt.
I keep all my fabrics in color families - reds together etc - this may help you too.
How fun - good luck

I think you could get a lot of ideas from Bonnie Hunter's site - Quiltville. I'll include the link. She has a lot of pictures and free patterns of quilts she's made from clothing scraps, and over on the right hand side towards the bottom is a topic 'Scrap User's System' where she describes how she cuts her scraps up into ready-to-use sizes. Enjoy!
