ROMANTIC QUILT?

Post by LQTXCRAFTER »

Hello Ladies

I am looking for a pretty/romantic pattern to use for making a quilt for our king size bed for our 25th wedding anniversary.

Please help me out by giving me some pattern ideas, something you think would look good with antique roses, beiges, greens and burgandies.

Thanks so much for your help ladies.

How about a "Lover's Knot" quilt. Eleanor has a book with great instructions. Lori

Double Wedding ring would look great!

A couple of suggestions - Double Wedding ring - but instead of a solid on the inside of the rings - a large scale print - maybe your antique rose print - it would then show it off-

My other favorite is a Star of Bethlehem or Lone Star Quilt.

Have fun with it!

You've not indicated how far off your 25th anniversary is. That, along with what else you have going needs to be taken into consideration.

All of these ideas are wonderful. But I have one more for you. How about a sampler, with each block meaning something to you. For example, include blocks representing the states you've lived in, our pets, and hobbies.

Admittedly my 25th anniversary quilt is a double wedding ring (if I get on the ball and get it quilted in the next six months), but my original goal was my 5th anniversary and I started a month before my 4th -- that life and quilting.

I second the Lovers knot. It is beautiful and easy. It is the first quilt I ever made. I sewed all the blocks together in one night. I have made alot of quilts but this I love the most. I just wish I hadn't made it for someone else.
